>>174194 >Conduit biology will be treated as an altform post-Jump Nah I was just fucking with you. But actually I didn't even cotton on to this but it that would be a reason I personally don't like it, the complete loss of conduit powers when not in that basically human alt-form would be pretty unfortunate.
I feel like a free perk for Conduit powers that gives points for denying them would be neat.
>>174202 I forgot, I pressed ctrl b instead of v
>>174193 damn dude missed his calling in the NBA
>>174206 Man either completely dodged the cops specifically hired to block dumbasses like him, or they were stupid.
>>174176 Deal. I’ll even put together some magic and superscience lessons for everyone.
Whats the best Clan of vampires for jumper to be of in VtMB? Not being a vampire doesn't count.
>>174210 the Toreador have high mobility, evasion, and social abilities. Tremere if you focus on ranged attacks and blood sorcery. Or Banu Haqim for stealth
>>174203 >Nah I was just fucking with you. Fair enough. >But actually I didn't even cotton on to this but it that would be a reason I personally don't like it, the complete loss of conduit powers when not in that basically human alt-form would be pretty unfortunate. I get that. I just figured that was the usual precedent for any options that grant you numerous superhuman abilities. Anyone else have any strong opinions on whether Conduit physiology should be an altform or a perk? I'm not against changing it to a perk, but I'll have to restructure a lot of my current skeleton and I just want to make sure this is something people really want before I commit. >>174204 That's basically how things are structured as-is. With the Conduit species being free and the regular human option giving points for taking it.
>>174210 I like going with being a Caitiff. You won't have any allies, but you won't have any clan curses and can pick up whatever disciplines you want
>>174210 Are you okay with vague cosmological downsides that only questionably have an actual effect on you? Because Lasombra are primarily designed as an antagonist-first Clan so their primary/unique Discipline is pretty jacked for a pre-Elder Discipline.
>>174210 In VTMB? Toreador, Tremere and Malkavian. Dementation is overpowered, blood magic is overpowered and celerity is overpowered.
>>174212 >restructure a lot of my current skeleton If you've got species only perks for the conduit why not just make a conduit section and make a perk that grants access to it with whatever the current species price for being one becoming the access price. At least that's the only reason i can think of that the jump would require restructuring to move the conduit choice from species to perk.
>>174216 That's pretty much how it works currently. But if I rework the Jump under the assumption that everyone coming in will be a Conduit, I can justify including Conduit-specific perks into the origin perklines that I'm currently struggling to fill.
>>174209 >get magic lessons >no magic so it does nothing >also an idiot so I barely learn I'm doomed
>>174217 I'm pretty sure the majority would go in as a conduit just because that's the primary part of the setting. There'll always be at least one who wont but why go to Infamous if not to be a conduit, I'm pretty sure there's no real normal human badass level guys who you don't just mow through in the games. Although you'll probably have to wait a bit before other people give their own votes to it
>>174218 Don't worry anon, I'll stab you with my magic sword and turn you into a Kult Human.
>>174219 Iirc you're either a Conduit or a bitch, yeah.
>>174219 I completely agree.
>>174216 >>174217 Though, I guess I can't rule out the possibility that I decide against doing that for whatever reason and leave the Conduit-related perks as their own separate thing regardless of whether I treat it as a perk or an altform. I'm making this choice sound way more binary than it actually is. Which is weirdly appropriate, considering the subject matter.
>>174220 I have no idea what Kult is, I dunno if this is a good thing
>>174218 >no magic so it does nothing I will find a magic system that works on Earth, don’t you worry. >also an idiot so I barely learn My lessons will be backed by the power of Solar charms. You couldn’t do poorly if you tried.
>>174224 Kult humans are basically just DC human/martian hybrids. Their all weird supergod things that have been made to think their dull normal humans through some weird dream magic. If you wake up you become one of the most dangerous things in reality
>>174224 Unawakened means you're just a regular guy who has the potential to cast magic. Awakened means you are essentially an unkillable God.
>>174224 Being a Kult Human is like there being so much delicious chocolate in all these pretty little boxes around you. You just have to realize you can break open the pretty packaging and you can enjoy as much as you like.
>>174212 I would like it to be a perk, yes. >>174217 That sounds like a good idea.
>>174212 >Glass conduit Man fuck fighting one of those, it'd just be a painful death by a million cuts from a murder blender. At least lightning or fire would kill your nerves fast enough that you'd only feel it for a moment.
>>174230 >When the salt, vinegar, and glass Conduits team up to fight
>>174231 The Gympie-Gympie conduit brings up the rear
>>174231 >Cardboard Conduit strolls up
>>174231 I can imagine a salt conduit going all sodom on others petrifying them forever.
Cum conduit when?
>>174235 Who would want to be a cumduit?
>>174235 After the fecal conduit, the great and mighty poop king final boss https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdd4rBlsj2o
>>174235 Would you be able to extract cum from others at a distance?
>>174223 With beyond genius as a rare kind would it be possible to get an extra ability?
>>174238 Testicular torsion to pop the balls then cumkinesis to pull it to you
>>174239 It won't be a completely different power, it still needs to be something ostensibly related to their ability to drain other's vitality and powers, but yes.
>>174230 >>174231 It's all fun and games until the asbestos Conduit shows up.
Is a napalm conduit a good idea? I feel like that's another one you'd have a hard time recharging
>>174176 That is a no brainer deal. Granted a Livestream of my first jump might be boring as it is just training arc. Like, if I just started in DCAU in 1986, it would take until 1993 for the Joker to show up. That is a lot of waiting for you lot. And all the DCAU jumps will last 77 years. So just making it to the second real world would see you all dead of old age. How many would actually enjoy watching someone try to be a wizard hero from scratch for that long? Or I can start in Digimon MMO and that would just be 50 years of adventure running around in there. It might be more interesting. . It would be better to have it become a TV series. Maybe hour long episodes with a new season released every week. Each season could be a year or main arch.
Just imagine the easy life the Air Conduit lives.
Sounds like making Conduit a perk is the way to go. It'll certainly make my job easier. Probably. Hopefully. >>174231 >>174232 >>174233 >>174234 >>174235 >>174237 >>174242 God I love that these are all completely valid powers. Not even that much weirder than the kind of powers we get in canon. I'm really curious to see what powers people come up with. >>174243 That's actually what Nix's powers is. Maybe it's refueled by any fuel source like oil or propane, even if it's not literally napalm?
>>174242 I feel like a glass conduit could do everything the asbestos conduit could do given it's just tiny shards that fuck up your lungs.
>>174246 If a specific type of tree is valid then that means a spider Conduit is too.
>>174245 As easy as air breaks on a banty rooster.
>>174243 Napalm's actually really really easy to make, IIRC? It's like aluminum and styrofoam or something
>>174246 >I'm really curious to see what powers people come up with. Unless we can buy multiple Conduit powers, I'm going to dissapoint you. I'm a Video man, through and through.
>>174248 Makes as much sense as a paper or wire conduit.
>>174250 Petrol and styrofoam iirc
>>174250 It's basically just gasoline and styrofoam with some thickeners or something if I remember right.
Human conduit, basically just Alex Mercer
>>174254 The styrofoam is the thickener, you just keep adding more till you get the right consistency
>>174256 Wasn't there something in there that made it burn slower or does the styrofoam do that already?
>>174243 Damn it
>>174255 I would see more as being able to manifest multiple heads and limbs like a hydra with the horror aspect at maximum
>>174248 Hey remember that weird Bug/Monster Conduit in Infamous 2? Yeah, go ahead and be a Spider Conduit.
>>174255 That was the primary antagonist of the second game
>>174257 I don't think it burns slower rather the styrofoam makes it burn longer as it has to go through gel like layers. Although this is just backyard pyrotechnics so it's still nothing compared to the actual chemical lab grade stuff.
How hard do you think it'd be for a Sound/Music Conduit to leverage their power into generalized telekinesis, hiding the fact that they work through sound?
I will be the radiation conduit.
>>174263 Pretty easy.
>Sasha >Black tar like conduit >fucking mind control >telepathy >teleportation >energy control >tar missile how the actual fuck are these linked to tar, one only of those makes any damn sense
>>174263 Sound Conduit doesn't really work since generally speaking Conduits work with a physical material or form of energy. So you're unlikely to get something as specific as a Sound Conduit. Rather, you'd more likely run into a Kinetic Conduit seeing as sound waves are simply vibrating the molecules of the atmosphere.
>>174267 Conduits are just reality warpers with a VERY loose tie to their element.
>>174251 Videobro! Eugene wasted this protag tier power
I see infamous is as consistent as power levels in dragon ball.
>>174251 >>174270 Videobros rise up!
>>174274 My local gamestop looks so sad from the outside.
>>174267 >how the actual fuck are these linked to tar, one only of those makes any damn sense She's not a tar conduit. She's a Black Tar conduit, with Black Tar being the in-setting name for a mind control agent she developed before getting her powers
>>174267 >Strolling up as a Blood Conduit with the power to turn into a bat, summon wolves, control the weather, and create a spooky living castle
>>174267 I feel like it wasn't until at least the second game that they started to develop a specific idea of what exactly a Conduit was. For pretty much every Conduit in the first game other than Cole, it was extremely unclear what exactly the focus of their power was. >>174268 I feel like we're forgetting that "video" is apparently a valid focus, a completely abstract manifestation of 0s and 1s. There are barely any rules for what is and isn't a valid focus for a Conduit.
>>174276 >>174267 So, the mind control and telepathy is the result of non-conduit related superscience. Teleportation and energy control are just something conduits seem to get
>>174267 Most of it is because of Black Tar properties. Teleporting is because it is the means of travel, kinda like Cole going trought powerlines.
>>174270 >wasted Eh, nigga developed it to a high-ass level.
>>174279 Except Cole, which is extremely funny. Cole can do fucking matter manipulation but even after his first fight with the Beast he still can't fly. Something that Lucy, a Conduit who quite literally awakened her abilities like fucking fifteen minutes ago, accomplished as a fucking Ice Conduit.
>>174283 Yeah, mah boi cole is just too lazy to fly.
>>174283 I mean lightning always seeks ground so it might be thematically appropriate
>>174283 Cole had electromagnetic levitation in the first game. He only used it for slow-falling in gameplay though He definitely could have developed it into proper flight though, since Kessler could fly
I can understand Conduits using power to heal themselves, but how the hell do they heal other people with fire and glass?
>>174287 REALITY. WARPERS.
>>174210 I always like Kiasyd disciplines, but it kinda hard to blent in as a giant blue guy and I'm not sure how much you can fanwank to be one instead of just a lasombra.
>>174287 >"If you don't hurry up and get better, I'll just keep doing this." >The wound begins healing on its own
>>174284 Personally, I think he just really really likes his parkour. Like, the dude learned how to superjump, railgrind, slowfall, and grapple during his games
>>174287 They conduct the energy into life force and conduct that to the injury. If a glowing sphere can absorb some nebulous 'sacrifice' of normies then a conduit can do that
So what stops someone from being a kinetic conduit and just absorb and use kinetic energy?
>>174283 Well, the thing is that Cole has few, if any, abilities that allow him to physically transform into his element, which seems to be really common for other Conduits. Maybe it's due to the inherent traits of electricity, or maybe certain powers just come more naturally to some Conduits than others. Kessler is able to warp around the battlefield, maybe that's just him briefly transforming into lightning.
>>174293 Literally nothing. Just be lucky enough to activate as kinetics conduit.
>>174293 Same thing stopping you from like matter and energy in general, how much you can fanwank that they can be anything.
>>174283 Didn't he get that in one of the endings?
>>174294 Part of me kind of imagines that turning into electricity is a hell of a lot harder than turning into ice or whatever. Not even so much because the element is more complex as much as being you would be moving at the speed of lightning.
>>174297 2nd game's evil ending, yeah
>>174298 I'm pretty sure turning yourself into data and back would be just as difficult, and yet Eugene can do it to anyone he wants when he drags them to his pocket dimension.
>>174287 Well, since conduits heal by filling in the gaps with their element into the damaged bits of their body I guess the reason is that they can just do that for any other kind of flesh too independent of any of their element's properties.
>>174298 >you would be moving at the speed of lightning Easy solution for that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_lightning
>>174301 That absolutely is not how Conduits heal
>>174293 That's probably just the dustmen IIRC. They just hold junk together with their powers to make scrap spy drones and shit >>174179 >everyone has this some are just dormant Well this is a prerequisite for Force conduits but people with the gene are the minority even before second son since a large portion of people with the gene were killed off in the Good Karma ending of 2.
>>174303 How is it then? This shit very clearly isn't just sped up cellular division.
>>174305 It's the bog-standard comicbook ex nihilo regeneration style of healing. Having to absorb your element to heal was established as a gameplay abstraction with Infamous First Light, when it was established that Abigail can passively regenerate from heavy gunfire and point-blank explosions when unconscious.
>>174306 Oh, ok then.
>>174287 Simple, because they wanted to keep the healing mechanic from the first game and couldn't think of a decent excuse for Delsin to also be capable of healing, so they just didn't bother explaining it.
Reminder that you'd need at least a few weeks minimum without training boosters or Raysphere radiation to do anything like we can in game assuming the due starts us off as a fresh conduit. It took Cole a good while after the blast to do anything more than produce enough electricity to power a lightbulb
>>174309 I really don't feel like taking a few weeks to grind is that much of a problem.
>>174308 Is there going to be anything for refilling our power bar without an element source?
Would TES's Magicka count as a spiritual energy?
Going to sleep. Good night guys.
>>174314 Bitching, that means I can hit up a TES jump before Demon Souls to have a spiritual energy to use with Inner Self
>>174312 Maybe, it's from the realm of the Et'ada and leaks through into Mundus. Although at the same time the shehai exists and it's completely separate from magicka and is closer to spiritual energy, and again at the same time you can use magicka for enchantments or souls interchangeably depending on the enchantment method so it's a coin toss and purposefully confusion like most things in Elder Scrolls
>>174312 no, it's more like cosmic energy.
>>174312 Maybe. Magicka is the unrefined energies of Aetherius leaking into the Mundus from the holes left by Magnus and the Magna Ge when they fled creation to preserve their power. Is Aetherius made of raw soul-stuff, or no?
>>174311 The comics state that conduits produce their own energy naturally enough to rarely charge unless they're going all out if they are the few that actually can absorb an element. For Cole the gameplay mechanic is due to his powers being unstable and Delsin's is mostly a gameplay abstraction.
>>174309 No, Cole was actually pretty strong even when he first awakened. It took him weeks to learn how to control his electricity enough to safely go outside. And even then, during InFamous 1, he was still relatively fucked and had little control. For example, Zeke tried to get Cole a gun to protect himself from all the looters and shit but whenever he touched it the electricity conducted through the metal and cooked off all the bullets. And he's been having to do sponge baths because the one time he got into the shower he damn near destroyed the whole house's power grid. And he can't ride in vehicles because, once again, he conducts lethal amounts of electricity through anything he touches. Which is actually represented in gameplay in funny little ways; if Cole is in contact with a body of water, even just an ordinary puddle, and somebody else steps into it they will literally be fucking electrocuted to death if you don't move quickly enough.
>>174309 How many weeks did Augustine and her prisoners spend standing around vacationing with Indians while Delsin mastered his Smoke powers?
>>174321 >How many weeks did Augustine and her prisoners spend standing around vacationing with Indians while Delsin mastered his Smoke powers? >or Raysphere radiation Anon Delsin was using and abusing blast shards to get as strong as he did in literally all is powers before he fought her.
>>174322 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzpmtoomBZ0 I didn't watch this video but you tell me how many dozens of Blast Shards he absorbed during it.
>>174323 Ok are you retarded or baiting? He literally blast apart DUP tech for their blast shards.
>>174226 >>174227 >>174228 Sounds...fun.
>>174324 Nigga, are you even aware of what you're saying?
>>174326 >>174324 DUP DUP PUD PUD
Would Makima be useful to a Devil Survivor King of Bel Jumper?
>>174328 If you have a Makima that's actually loyal/obedient, then yes, she's useful to pretty much anyone. She's a problem in her own setting because she's only loyal to her own vision of what the world should be, with tertiary interests born of her emotional failings. Her abilities are highly useful.
>>174329 I guess I could run her through Dollmaker first.
>>174330 If you're talking about Dollmaker Poppet I think she'd need a few Charm upgrades for affecting weird spiritual beings before hitting up Makima.
>>174328 If you can control her, sure. But it is implied not all demons are held under sway by the King of Bel, as Lucifer largely just does whatever the fuck he wants and Belzaboul follows him instead.
>>174331 Oh dear no, I mean Dollmaker proper or at least whatever version I decide to get later. >Puppeteer II/Overlord (S): Is capable of mentally affecting any being capable of control or thought within three meters of distance from himself. Currently, his fine control over this ability is lacking and he can only paralyze, berzerk, coma, charm, knock out or intimidate those within the aura. He can utilize lesser versions of this power over a radius of around 20 meters, causing exhaustion or fear, making it hard to muster hostility, or causing random twitches occasionally to anyone within range, though he can only use one effect at the time. >Dollmaker III/Ars Goetia (SS+): The ability to turn any being capable of higher thoughts and control into a humanoid servant known as a 'Doll' with a touch. For some reason, it does not work on animals, and has only been proven to work on humans thus far. The location and state of any doll can be percieved by Mikhail from any given range with no upper limit, though he can 'mute' these senses accordingly to balance the mental input. This ability embodies the complete takeover of the being's processes, which are then rewired for the purpose of complete obedience to the Master. It also affects parahuman abilities, rendering a Doll's abilities harmless against the Master and lifting certain restrictions on the old Cape's powers. Upgrades itself, as well as the Dolls, as Shard synchronization evolves. >Now that it has been upgraded, Solomon's Striker ability has been updated to face off against any parahuman that may cross his path. Upon touch, Solomon's ability not only attempts to get a reading on the mental information of the specimen to subvert them- It also warps reality in the process, tearing through dimensions to break through any parahuman protections or counters the enemy might have against being touched. Solomon's Shard will actively gather data on an enemy they cannot convert upon immediate touch, and eventually devise a way to bring them into the fold, upgrading this ability accordingly. >After a third upgrade, this warping effect also passively extends as a selective field within a twenty meter range around Solomon. It works as a form of jamming, sending 'pulses' that can cause Parahuman powers to sputter and fail during crucial moments, and evokes a sense of panic on all non-allied parahumans. >Parahuman Sense (B): Whenever in the near vicinity of an uncontrolled Cape, Mikhail will feel the bristling crawl of static over his body, alerting his senses to the direction and identity of the Cape. >Dollmaster (A): Allows him to heal and revive any Doll with a touch. Healing takes relatively little out of him, but reviving a Doll whose core has been destroyed is an exhausting process that leaves him lethargic for a few hours, thus limiting his ability to use it actively. Can also summon a Doll to his position every 4.3 seconds. >Tyranny (SS): Refuses to be dominated, controlled or manipulated in any way. Shard constantly interferes with his mind and senses to render him immune against dangerous Master influence and Stranger effects. Has active defenses against dimensional jamming, reducing the effectiveness of Trump nullifiers. The more dangerous the effect, the more immediate and violent the Shard's reaction will be. Obfuscates precogs by scrambling information whenever important decisions are made, thus causing divergences in their predictions without bothering other factors enough to be detectable unless aimed at the host.

>>174328 I like basing at least one of my 3rd Circles after her, representing a desire for effective and efficient bureaucratic processes. Yu Shan HATES her.
I was not expecting to find a fanfic where Gloria Martinez happens to be Adam Smasher today. The mere concept is hilarious enough to read a few chapters.
>>174336 >Bursts out of the overturned car >Sheer fucking rage "YOU ALL LOOK LIKE FUCKABLE MEAT!" >Everybody dies
>>174336 A Latina WereSmasher?
>>174338 Looking that way, yeah. Still hyperviolent to anyone who isn't named David, curses like a sailor, and hates meat, but also uses a lot of spanish, genuinely loves and cares for David, and is actually trying to raise him right...ish.
>>174339 Does David know?
>>174340 He does not seem to be aware that his mom is a fullborg. Nor what his mom's job actually is. But she did promise to teach him how to launder money after school.
>>174341 Does Smasher Martinez find out about the rich kid bully, or is it completely averted?
>>174342 I don't know, I'm still halfway through reading chapter 1/2 (first chapter is a prologue, so depending on how you look at it this is either chapter 1 or 2).
>>174293 Thematically? Kinetic energy likely isn't a valid 'element' for conduits. In actuality? Not really a lot.
>>174342 Smasher Mama politely asked David if he wanted her to kill the brat (Tanaka) or the principle. David turned the offer down, so she just gave him life advice instead. Then they sat down to watch the Lion King together. And David helped Smasher Mama get a chunk of rapist out of her hair (he tried to rape her earlier during work, she punched through his chest and exploded his heart).
>>174329 To make the control devil obedient you would probably need to remake her whole being and that would also likely severely weaken her.
>>174344 (me) To add a bit of explanation to the first one, when designing the world of InFamous, Sucker Punch designed the Conduit powers to work on 'modern day elements', which is why we have Oil/Napalm and Dust versus Fire and Air as viable elements. Kinetic energy doesn't really map to anything that well, as it doesn't really represent a 'modern' element. There are certainly things that would get close, but they would be side effects of another 'element' as opposed to being a base element in itself.
>>174346 Or just raise her properly? Nayuta was a bit of a little shit but she was genuinely devoted to Denji, and he isn't exactly an expert in raising kids/Devils.
>>174348 Nayuta is still pretty much in control of their relationship, like forcing denji to forget Asa and buy her shit, and a lot weaker than Makima.
>>174344 Would "Music" be a more thematic manifestation of a Conduit power that effectively translates right back to kinetic energy (but with a musical/sound based twist)?
>>174336 Link plz?
(264.20 KB 1440x1358 2B 10.jpeg)

Hello people. How are you? How are your chains? How are your jumps? Have a 2B in these trying times.
>>174350 Not music, but "Noise", as in noise pollution, would likely be a perfectly acceptable element. That being said, if you want to flavor it as "Music" you do you. This would get you a lot of powers and effectively let you do a lot of shit like converting sound into attacks, though what specifically would depend on how you manipulate it. It won't let you absorb all kinetic energy cart-blanche, but you have plenty of room to get it recharged passively.
>>174349 >Nayuta is still pretty much in control of their relationship Yes, because Denji is spineless and folds to pressure, but even so she relents to him on important matters like not trying to take over the world. >and a lot weaker than Makima She's existed for like a year or two max and is focusing on attending school because Denji wants her to have an education, and Makima had an undefined amount of time to use her powers to build up free lopsided Devil Contracts and human resources. Of course she was weaker during her limited existence.
>>174351 https://archiveofourown.org/works/46207912/chapters/116330506 It's the very first fic that popped up when I clicked the "Rebecca" character tag. Which is odd.
>>174334 Sorry that happened to you.
>>174353 I want to do general telekinetic shit, a bit like the Dust Men/Alden Tate except more generalized (not trash/metal exclusively). Telekinetic walls, blades, move shit with my mind, maybe a little tactile TK to fake the general flying brick powerset. Can sound be used to cut things?
>>174311 I'm undecided. I'm not really sure if that's a thing that happens in canon or how common it is if so. >>174319 I just read the comics the other day and don't remember anything like that. Maybe I just missed the line. I'll admit I was skimming a little. >>174320 I'll always love that Cole is potentially the strongest Conduit ever, but he's canonically unable to swim without dropping dead on the spot.

I may post another writeup in the near future, thus clearing the room for 2-3 more big dumb cosmic battles before FGO part 2 finally comes to a close and I can FINALLY start writing the tweest about God I've been meaning to since for fucking ever. How much personal power do you need when everything already goes your way all the time? I'm not sure if a Chain like that would be hilarious or the most boring thing imaginable.

You will be thrust into the War for the Throne of Bel, with victory granting one the title of Overlord of Bel, king of demons. Even before that, you are faster, stronger, tougher, overall BETTER compared to humans. Demons are more likely to obey you, and should you win the war, you will become one of the most powerful beings on the planet, a rival to God himself. You won’t be omnipotent, you could still be punched out, but you’re far beyond the average human. And that’s BEFORE you awaken...Summoning demons without a COMP will be a cinch, and the demons of your court will be more than happy to answer your call. >>174394 Anon, have you read my jumps? I've never included character replacement toggles. Mostly because I see no point - there are dozens of perks in many jumps to replace the main characters in a setting retroactively as it is so I already view them as redundant if you aren't taking something as a first jump, and for the vast majority of the stuff I've made jumps on, there isn't a singular MC to replace anyway. And for the ones that DO have a core MC, I simply decided that there's nothing stopping them from existing alongside jumper. If you really want to replace the Lamb that badly (and not just, say, decide you fought exact versions of the Bishops in whatever alt universe you hail from and did everything like you would have as the Lamb) then just snag a character replacement perk and call it a day.

>>174379 The easiest way to think of Cole is that he's simultaneously a bio-generator that continuously produces vast amounts of electricity passively and also an incredibly huge battery that can absorb and store electricity from other sources. The problem is that, pre-Kessler level, he can't perfectly contain his own output. So if he steps into a puddle he's not going to blow up the whole street with all the energy contained inside of him but he's going to be continuously pouring electrical power through that water as long as he's touching it. This is the case even if he's depleted and hasn't absorbed any electricity since his own body continuously generates vast amounts of time. As a Conduit, Cole can actually just produce huge quantities of electricity without needing to take it from an external source (as we see him do during his first skirmish with the Beast) but doing so makes him burn his physical stamina in place of absorbed elemental energy. Under normal circumstances, Cole's Conduit powers actually not only give him superhuman strength, durability, and the ability to regenerate from shit like bullet wounds in seconds, but also allows him to keep operating perpetually without needing sleep, rest, or apparently even food or water. But if he can't absorb external electricity that goes away. He can still access his Conduit powers (as presumably all Conduits can) but it burns his stamina to do so and he has to eat, sleep, and rest like a normal person. By the time of InFamous 2, Cole's control over his electrokinesis has advanced enough that a lot of stuff that bothered him before doesn't anymore. He can interact with things that would normally have blown up the moment he touched them before. He can theoretically submerge himself into water at this point but he'd still electrify the whole fucking thing. It seems that it's only when he reaches Kessler levels of control that he flat-out stops leaking electricity entirely. But of course at Kessler's level he's reached the point of near-total subatomic manipulation, at least city-wide control of all digital systems, generally being fucking Magneto, transforming into electricity to teleport at will, and manipulating people's minds and thoughts by controlling the bioelectricity in their brains. Which is stuff that Cole, even by the timeline of InFamous 2, is still way the fuck away from achieving with him only just barely starting to get into matter transmutation via electron manipulation.
>>174408 Yes indeed. But I WILL tear it apart regardless. I must.
>>174401 This is not actually true. That is the belief of Kiara's cult, but not one substantiated as a definitive reality for the Divine Spirit and the Saver class Servant. If anything Amitabha has the stronger claim to being the definitive Buddha given false Buddhas like Kiara are a known quantity, and Xuanzang has him not Ammy appear in her NP. Not to mention Amitabha can seemingly have himself summoned at will as late as the events of Fate/Extra and even leave behind Noble Phantasms independent of his summoning, while despite being able to rip people out of time Ammy doesn't seem to have the same amount of mobility. It's like saying the Greek Gods are the personification of the sea, the sky etc. There is something the belief may be based on and it may be substantial enough to create Mystery based phenomena, but it has nothing to do with the reality of them originating as alien terraforming equipment
>>174388 Hey, that blood-conduit guy reminded me that there are apparently possibly vampires in the Infamous universe. Somehow, he is apparently not corrupted by Chaos. The same way the Space Wolves are not despite communing with wolf spirits unique to their planet. >alpharius/omegon Nothing is certain about them.
>>174423 Man I must be out of date on the little 40k lore I know. I also think my uplifting primer I have may be a few editions out of date.
>>174411 But wouldn't Amitabha just being Tamamo perfectly explain why he would help some genocidal autist?
You know, there was a whole lot of hay a while back about how telling Jefferson about how he was being rewritten (potentially by AIs, potentially by Night Corp, either way by Mr Blue Eyes) didn't amount to much in the end, but the Phantom Liberty DLC and endings directly refute that. When he doesn't know he's being rewritten, he does a number of policies that weaken Netwatch vets, close off air traffic, and empower the NCPD. When he DOES know he's being rewritten, he increases funding for Netwatch vets, opens up air traffic even further, and disempowers the NCPD (thus empowering corpo security companies). And that's two whole years after the election where he learned he was being brainwashed. If he couldn't resist their influence, he'd have been doing the same thing either way. The very fact that he CAN do the opposite of what he would have done otherwise is proof that simply being aware of the brainwashing and pushing himself to fight it was enough to change things. I am vindicated in my choice to tell Jefferson the truth.
>>174424 Uh...just to be clear, are you aware Squats are un-squatted and also have now managed to form an objectively better version of the Imperium, that the Chaos God form of the Emperor is called the Dark King and he seemingly represents the death impulse manifesting as total collapse of reality into the Warp, that the Ynnari are a total failure with their leader resorting to increasingly desperate sacrificial rites with no Ynnead resurrection in sight and most of her old allies abandoning her, and that Kheradruakh finally finished his skull collection and it turns out he just wanted to make a real estate crab in Commoragh by dragging part of his shadow dimension into it, and that the Void Dragon is confirmed sharded now, and that after constant humiliation rituals Vect proceeded to either fake his own death or actually resurrect himself at his own funeral, massacre everyone there, only resurrect the loyalists, and declare himself a Dark Muse? >>174425 Absolutely not. Nasu has made very clear through FGO that Tamamo is the dindu who wouldn't hurt a fly (despite several characters all but confirming she was Daji in side mentions) and Koyan is the psychopath. Any attempt to elaborate on this has been proactively ignored by the plot, to the extent of an insane gaslighting scheme about Koyan being hinted at as Daji before being revealed as something completely unrelated that Ammy just nodded at and immediately abandoned. Amitabha would never be confirmed as Tamamo because that would mean disgracing Tamamo by association with Amitabha.
>>174411 I mean, the Greek Gods while they were physical, mechanical beings weren’t personifications, but once Sefar totaled their Aletheias and they became Divine Spirits, they did become personifications of their relevant phenomena, at least within the Greek AotG Texture. Also, Amaterasu = Vairocana is just a thing. That fact that as Amy, Amy is less mobile than she is as Vairocana doesn’t contradict her being Vairocana, just that her different roles/functionalities have different abilities. Not saying you’re not right about Amitabha, you probably are, just that different shown capabilities between Amitabha and Amaterasu (as the Shinto sun goddess) doesn’t necessarily mean Amaterasu can’t do the same things, just that she can’t while acting as Amaterasu.

>>174425 He was helping the genocidal autist as an indulgence. Essentially just half-heartedly facilitating Twice’s scheme on the hopes Twice will realize he’s being an idiot (despite being objectively right about humanity in-setting, while being wrong morally speaking) and go Buddhist. …which admittedly is a very Tamamo thing to do, given her tendency to indulge her partner even when it’s unhealthy for them because she doesn’t quite grok all the little nuances about how tj help people in a fulfilling, character building way by default. >>174427 >Absolutely not. Nasu has made very clear through FGO that Tamamo is the dindu who wouldn't hurt a fly (despite several characters all but confirming she was Daji in side mentions) and Koyan is the psychopath. I mean, as far back as extra we knew that as Mizukume/Tamamo no Mae, Tamamo legitimately did nothing wrong, being an amnesic reincarnated bunrei unaware of her nature or past until the last few months of her life, after which she basically depressed into allowing herself to be killed by the pants-on-head idiotically racist and self-destructive Heian Court. It’s the fact that in her past life she was probably Daji (or Daji is another bunrei of Dakini-ten with some degree of vaguely defined continuity with Tamamo). So FGO going “Nah, she’s a good girl” makes sense, when the most defining of her lifetimes had her as a good girl who just got fucked over by the powers that be. >>174432 >To my knowledge neither Amaterasu nor Vairocana nor Nasu has confirmed that is my point, Its stated in the untranslated side-materials (specifically the character matrix if I’m remembering correctly) of either Extra or CCC, which elaborates on the specific chain of relation going down from Amaterasu to Vairocana to Dakini-ten to Tamamo. Tamamo just simplifies it when talking to Hakuno about it, just saying “My origin is Amaterasu”, with her referring to Dakini-ten as herself, when the Amaterasu we see is actually her Dakini-ten (Golden Fur White Face), but is treated as Amaterasu for practical purposes.
>>174440 I can't believe Link canonically doesn't have a dick.
>>174437 >Zroni I'm pretty certain her being descended from cosmic space gods would change much, yes. In all seriousness though - her being descended from Rauru and Sonia only matters in the sense that she inherited their Light and Time powers respectively, on top of having the blood of the Goddess and thusly having gotten the full Triforce as her divine power. And as we see in BOTW, her being related to Rauru and Sonia doesn't matter as much as the latter stuff since 1) those powers are HEAVILY dormant until she travels back to the past in Tears and she's not even aware they exist and 2) only her sealing power inherited from her connection to Hylia matters when it comes to actually dealing with Ganon in the first game and given she's a dragon for most of TOTK and we don't see much of her exploits in the past, her more potent Light magic abilities hardly come up beyond her anointing the Master Sword to a level beyond anything short of complete one-off versions never mentioned again. Rauru's light power MIGHT have contributed to her being able to use the Triforce as a fucking light nuke, but given what EOW has it do against Null, it might have always been capable of that on its own. In terms of how much having Zonai blood in her matters from a biological standpoint, it wouldn't. The Hyrule in BOTW/TOTK is the latest version of a kingdom that went through an apocalypse against Calamity Ganon 1000 years prior, and the ancient Hyrule Rauru ruled is even further back then THAT, to the point there's not a single person alive who can say for sure what the heck happened back then and the language they used is so long dead there's like, maybe only one guy who can even somewhat translate it. >>174439 The correct answer are the Four Swords Adventures manga Links, but BOTW/Tears, Toon, Skyward Sword, and LTTP are strong runner-ups.

>>174444 >Its stated in the untranslated side-materials (specifically the character matrix if I’m remembering correctly) of either Extra or CCC I'd like to see the exact wording. Nasu is very fond of purple prose that make words like "stars" or "World" hard to ascertain so in light of how incongruent this has been with how Buddhism is protrayed elsewhere in the Nasuverse, I want to see the exact wording to make sure it isn't something like "Buddha and Amaterasu are in the same Texture" or "Vairocana, A Buddha, is Amaterasu, as opposed to Shakyamuni (釈尊) who is a distinct individual fulfilling a similar role like how Romulus is the Chief God of Rome and Zeus is the Chief God of Greece" ...yeah I should've opened with the fact that Vairocana and Shakyamuni are distinct entities in the Nasuverse, and that I don't think it's safe to assume Ammy is automatically the Buddha Hivemind with how many other twists to mythology there've been. You can call yourself the Body of Truth all you like, in the end you still ran scared from Sefar while the other guy is solar system level.
>>174429 Nintendo stopped caring about making a timeline work after Twilight Princess, so I don't think about it anymore. Basically, we had a timeline, then the people and directors making TP disregarded it (or were forced to by the higher ups, since its clear TP was originally meant ot be a totally different game), and so abandoned it, and only tried to salvage it later when people saw that fans were STILL trying to make it work.
>>174401 >So Buddha in Fate are just sock puppets for Amaterasu. Who the hell told you that?
>>174429 This >>174430, >>174451 It's pretty clear that Nintendo isn't interested in actually making a Zelda timeline or a cohesive universe for the overarching universe of Zelda. They essentially treat every game as an entirely new universe with a few references thrown in from previous titles every now and again. But realistically each game, with the exception of those directly tied to each other, might as well be set in a totally different universe. There was an incredibly flimsy attempt to push a timeline at one point because of fan interactions but once it became clear that wasn't going to work they pretty much just scrapped the idea entirely and have been pointedly ignoring any timeline or continuity problems ever sense. In essence, each Zelda game is a standalone story with little to no actual interconnection with the broader franchise. It's best to just give it the Final Fantasy treatment where, while some games take place in the same setting, realistically each game is set in its own universe and has no correlation to the others.
>>174442 In WW, the only reason the Zoras became the Rito is because 1) IIRC the Great Sea is apparently not conducive to the waterborne living that they rely on if you take Ganondorf's monologuing regarding the sea near the end at face-value and more importantly 2) it was a necessity to keep anyone from rediscovering Hyrule. I'm fairly certain the most commonly held theory these days is that the Zoras were forcibly evolved because if they remained, all it would take is just one diving a bit deeper than normal to find the original Hyrule. Given that BOTW alludes to the Great Sea having receded ages ago in one item description and how New Hyrule in Spirit Tracks is an entire fucking continent that WW Link and Tetra found and started a new kingdom in, it's not out of the question that Zora re-evolved somehow/some Rito broke off and eventually returned to the forms of Zora. We already know Zora are capable of radical alteration and dimorphism given how hilariously different River Zora are from other Zora. Hell, fucking Echoes of Wisdom shows as much with the fact BOTW/TOTK-style Zora exist alongside the other species just fine and they look NOTHING alike. It's not at all unlikely that between the massive fucking timespans separating Breath and Tears from everything else that there are Rito who once more became Zora or vice versa, and there'd be so many generations separating their original ancestors that there'd be minimal connections between the two in the present. >>174448 You could probably create an expy in one of the Sonic jumps. That or just do a Statline and snag a Mobian kid off the streets, Subject him to ruthless and invasive experimentation and brainwashing to delete any trace of his original life, then add in a little not!Metal Virus for the immortality aspect and voila - your very own Kitsunami.
>>174429 Timeline is bullshit. >>174437 It does, he's coping.
>>174452 According to >>174444, untranslated side-materials in either CCC or Extra which I am deeply suspicious of for the reasons given. Unfortunately I'm not sure they can be dismissed out of hand since Nasu has a nasty habit of remembering his own cliffnotes and bringing them back in the weirdest forms in FGO. Technically Goetia may have been namedropped as early as fucking MELTY BLOOD as the "I" of the Original Sin, and while nobody knew ORT was from the Oort Cloud or that the flying saucer was the name body. In hindsight, I can kind of see it both from the fuckin' japanese pun name, the ominous question mark, and really just how beeg it's "head" is compared to the spider body.

>>174456 What the fuck. What about the actual Buddha, or those that reached Buddhahood?
>>174458 It's debatable if he was even around at the time. If events in Fate have shown anything, it's that the Pillars of Nature don't have a monopoly on godhood and lesser beings like, again, Kiara can certainly ascend to their levels. Or even greater heights if Kiara were to succeed at becoming a Star Eater. >>174459 As I said, again replying to that anon, on the face of evidence presented in other material such as FGO my hunch is that Vairocana and Shakyamuni are distinct entities not necessarily intrinsically connected like in actual Buddhism. However, nothing is certain. Hell we don't even know the specifics of Shakyamuni's existence, we know more about Amaterasu/ Apart from the fact that Xuanzang seems to be channeling Shakyamuni, not Vairocana/Amaterasu, in her NP.

>>174453 >But realistically each game, with the exception of those directly tied to each other, might as well be set in a totally different universe. There was an incredibly flimsy attempt to push a timeline at one point because of fan interactions This is wrong and pretty much misinfo. Nintendo are the ones who originally developed the timeline and assumed most Zelda games took place in the same world. ALTTP follows off of the very first game, WW relies on OOT for its entire fuckign story to make sense, Majora's Mask follows directly from OOT, OOT/MM is the entire crux of Twilight Princess's plot, Minish Cap is the basis for EVERY Four Swords game, ALBW is directly tied to ALTTP and therefore the original game, Triforce Heroes is a literal sequel to ALBW, EOW is most likely set between ALTTP to ALBW, all of the Oracle games follow from one another and are implicitly the same Link as ALTTP, Link's Awakening is ALSO ALTTP Link, etc. Zelda games have always been interconnected. Nintendo just never bothered trying yo be OVERT with exact timeline placements until Hyrule Historia, because they noticed the fans liked theorizing on this stuff. But Historia only led to more arguing because it nuked countless headcanons and shitty theories, and salty /v/ermin and Redditors capitalized on that you push this whole "Zelda was never connected between games and there was no timeline" bullshit. SS further pissed off retards by adding the actual farthest back point in the timeline and a proper origin for the Master Sword and an originating evil. Then BOTW and TOTK came out and that shit went into fucking overdrive, despite the Canon view being a very blatantly "these are do far in the future everything else is actual ancient history, at best" which isn't new to this franchise.
>>174429 I don't care
>>174462 Standard procedure for Fate post-FGO, yes. Remember. Koyanskaya is NOT a Tamamo and has NOTHING to do with Ammy except Ammy looked at her and said "I like you cut, G" to the mass of terrified dead animals hit by a meteor and mistaking it for a gunshot that eventually coalesced into a secretary with a money fetish and a propensity for jobbing.
>>174415 That's literally just Mephiston in black armor. You'll be fine.

>>174466 I'm not watching that

>>174470 Link and Zelda literally make a wish on the Triforce at the very end of EOW. There's a bright flash of light, then we cut to Null apparently just being gone and Tri confirms afterwards they outright wish-nuked it out of existence. Which is kind of hilarious, because the last time a wish was made on the Triforce to destroy a primordial cosmic horror it basically just shrugged and went "I'll just drop this statue on him, I guess" instead of just, y'know, alt+4 deleting him.

>>174480 No that's just the devs.
>>174469 You can still get hearts and rupees from cutting grass in Breath and Tears, it's just very rare and kinda pointless when you get more just by cooking good food/potions. And it makes sense too: They went through the original Ganondorf assault + however many times Calamity Ganon has manifested ever since Rauru put the original in the cuckshed. I wouldn't be surprised if the vast majority of them abandoned Hyrule entirely.

>>174476 Straight from the manual. Admittedly, it being the Sages was me remembering the manga, the manual just says it was the people of Hyrule. The Sages were probably involved though.
hello
Eh, fuck it, let's make a chainbutt. Chainbut,t it's not your chain, it's your waifu/husbandos chain. They recruited you as a companion and insist on importing you into every jump possible. While you are everything they dreamed of, they are slightly off enough to bother you, and the jumps they prefer to jump to will be similarly off from your preferences (jumping into dangerous jumps if you want to play it safe, going to short intense jumps if you want an extended vacation, etc.).
>>174464 The issue, and what I'm essentially trying to say, is that Nintendo doesn't consider a cohesive timeline while writing new Zelda games. They just write the story and then slot it into the "timeline" without much consideration. If it contradicts something that was established in a previous game they just ignore it because they didn't take the previous continuity into account while writing it. They treat each game as a separate universe and then arbitrarily put it somewhere in the timeline that makes relative sense because they aren't really concerned about the timeline in the first place. They don't really "retcon" things in a general sense because that implies a level of conscientious thought concerning the original continuity that most of the Zelda writers don't seem to bother with outside of a few direct sequels or handfuls of interconnected examples like the Oracle games. Everything else is basically just a standalone story with completely different characters that often disregards anything to do with the broader context of the franchise beyond Ganondorf who swings wildly into a radically different character virtually every game precisely for this reason.
>>174477 Keeping in mind that Tamamo’s Witchcraft is literally called “Dakini-ten Techniques”.
>>174484 You don't have to explain it to me. I know far too how bullshit Zelda is, and how the Master Sword is more or less a joke now. I, after all, dislike Fi, and wishes she never existed.

Pretty much every Ganondorf is the same guy being resurrected over and over though, barring FSA and Tears who are entirely different people and he's consistently a powerhungry warmonger throughout every appearance. WW is the one time he shows even an ounce of development beyond that, and that reads far more as him having suffered sheer mind-numbing ennui from the loss of Hyrule and having ended up drinking his own kool-aid under the belief that he's "helping" the Great Sea by returning the sunken Hyrule above the waters. But the final battle makes it clear that beyond the thin affable veneer, he's still the same monstrous warlord and warlock he's always been.

All of them consider each other to be friends/penpals, but Tamamo is also bitchy towards Osakabehime. >>174505 It’s also what makes Kiara as evil as she is. Truly, self-loathing is a sign of morality (this is a lie, Tamamo isn’t actively evil, but she generally isn’t actively good per say either, she does what she thinks is good for her partner, then herself, then her friends, then her frenemies/rivals, and then strangers if the last doesn’t contradict any of the previous ones. That being said, when her partner has a strong moral compass and their relationship is good it tends to rub off on her over time).

>>174507 >>174508 I just presumed you had an addon automatically adjust the text, it seems easier. >>174516 Morality in fate is weird, because it doesn't use traditional definitions. Tamamo isn't evil because she is unethical, but because she doesn't ultimately care about other's opinions about how she acts; if she says she's your wife, you have no real right to refuse in her eyes, and she will fuck over anyone who tries to ruin her fantasies, like when she betrayed the Tamamo Nine in CCC.
>>174519 >Morality in fate is weird Meanwhile, fire isn't wet!

>>174516 >self-loathing is a sign of morality Not necessarily. Sono-G is the most moral person in Mahoyo and contrary to popular opinion, he is not actually an everyman. In fact, in the last segments of the main story he ultimately proves to be so alien and detached from the human experience, my closest frame of reference would be...fucking ORT. Just like ORT, he is a machine that will just keep going forwards until his enemies are destroyed or he is, that manually beats his fucking heart and whips out hysterical strength casually (in a setting where hysterical strength is strong enough to punch through steel-like fur and stop a wolf bigger than you's heart). Sono-G at no point has any kind of self-loathing complex. The true test of Fate morality is having something you believe enough to lay your life on the line for, as he did when he fucked up his arms fighting Lugh Beowulf then later died to Touko. If you're willing to embrace death gleefully announcing you regret nothing while in some sense creating hope for the future, you are deemed in some abstract sense heroic. Even if you oppose the spirit of these guidelines like LB Qin or if you are actively malicious towards humanity like BB or BB Dubai who is a separate character entirely that just happens to also be a big-tiddy Sakuraface, as long as you follow the letter of the law and are open to debate you can still be "redeemed" by Nasuverse standards.

And Ganondorf? "No. See you next life" *crack* Absolutely based.
>>174519 >if she says she's your wife, you have no real right to refuse in her eyes, Which is rather humorous when you remember she’s plagued y self doubt and loathing and is constantly worried that if she ever lets someone know what she’s really like, they’ll hate her just as much as she does, which is why she pretty much formulates her entire external personality to be what she thinks her prospective partner needs from her (which is very distinct, though at times heavily overlaps with, what they actually needs).

>>174464 The problem is that the events and setting details of Twilight Princess are incompatible with any functional timeline. Then again, we then have to go into some of the weirder things brought up of Extra which never come up again (like how this is the nicest interpretation of Tamamo for Hakuno compatibility, implying there are far more evil versions you could summon which are NOT the Tamamo Nine, cause they don't exist yet), or how Francis Drake is actually Queen Elizabeth, but I digress. >>174526 I hope your wife enjoys her chain. Rather than MHA, Resident Evil might be a better testing ground. I can organize my super soldiers into units and deploy them where bioweapons are being fielded. I'll have them prioritize safety, followed by completion of the mission, followed by recovery of infected. Even as corpses, with my techbase having expanded as wide as it has I think I might be able to organize a repair program to restore them to a prior state of being if I feed the infected into the Genesystem. I can have terminals set up in hazard zones for them to make drop offs at. First few years will likely just be missions and test data though as I need time to actually apply everything I've been accumulating and make some upgrades before I then start planning out and writing a repair program.

Oni are too at peace with their own natures even if that nature is fickle violence, whereas humans are permanently unhappy and are thus obsessed with some arbitrary metric of progress to the point of culling entire timelines to reach it.

In my next chain I'm planning on building a world that will be like a comfyish sword and sorcery world that vaguely resembles Glorantha if you parked a cleaned up K6BD Throne in the middle. I'm not sure who would want to live there though.

>>174543 Abe-no-Seimei, from what can be determined in Heian, is repeatedly compared to a Japanese Merlin. Considering Fate Merlin is the kind of entity who would catfish an innocent Jewish magus and saw nothing wrong with observing Camelot’s rise and fall for his own amusement until he realised he gave a shit about Artoria too late to do anything about it, that says some extremely damning things about Seimei even though apparently he at least somewhat tried to stop Douman from going batshit insane with jealously and embracing his kitsune heritage.
>>174543 >Abe No Seimei, who Fate insists was real and knew what he was doing. That means that this is kind of a "he said, she said" fight forever in the making I mean, Abe is complicit or the driving factor behind one explicit genocide (Oni of Ōoe) and one implicit genocide (the Emishi), has shown sufficient clairvoyant and scheming ability to engineer specific outcomes to the point of flawlessly destroying Doumon’s entire scheme with a single letter, and may or may not be aware of all of Japanese history to the present. He’s also explicitly compared in personality and outlook to Merlin as Merlin views himself (ie without the Catholic guilt or ability to have genuine emotional connections). Dude is sketchy as fuck at best.
What's the over under of Fate just being Ritsuka's dream considering Grand Order endlessly escalates while bringing back old characters and saying they're actually new people?

>>174557 >>174558 >It was a dream all along One day I will gain the power to erase ideas like this from existence. I will descend like a storm of narrative fury and bathe in the metaphorical blood of this fictional trope.
>>174557 I should clarify: Those parts being dreams has not stopped them to have meaningful, tangible consequences and revelations about the setting metaphysics. For example, just because Ritsuka met Musashi (Female) in a dream doesn’t stop Musashi from showing up in multiple Lostbelts to save him. >>174561 Based.

>>174548 >because “there is no longer a purpose for them” That’s because their whole ideology can be traced back to “Ma”. Best translated as “Aberration”, in this context meaning anything that exists outside or as a distortion of nature/the world. Keeping in mind that in the Age of Man, what is or is not ‘of nature’/natural is determined near entirely by the Human Order/Common Ssnse of Man. So Oni? Aberration. Yōkai? Aberration. Magecraft? Aberration. Psychic Powers? Aberration. True Magic? Aberration. Aliens? Aberration. Japanese degraded Age of the Gods magecraft? Beloved cultural tradition (probably). That being said, the Mixed-Blood families who embraced Capitalism realized they can just imbed themselves in human society to make themselves nigh-untouchable and just throw money at the problem of Demon Hunters, hence the families willingly shutting down by and large. >Oni are too at peace with their own natures even if that nature is fickle violence The Oni also used to have their own civilization which Ibaraki is the spiritual heir to, which she might’ve been able to revive if she wasn’t such a (step)siscon (platonic…probably).

>>174575 Hold on, I was trying to type a response, but my phone keeps resetting the browser. I might respond tomorrow morning after I wake up, but the short answer is that it boils down to Ganondorf's sealing a death not fitting anywhere in the timeline properly, him gaining the Triforce of Power randomly and suddenly without any reason during said sealing making no sense, Hyrule despite ostensibly being Hyrule looking more akin to Termina in several spots (the Lost Woods has nothing on common with the Kokkri forest but is a poison swamp with monkeys, the desert having worms and undead instead of Gerudo, etc), and the fact that despite it being impossible for this to be in the same timeline split as WW (due to Ganondorf's death and everything), several items and dialogs, like the Bow being the Fairy Bow from OoT, implying they were given by an Adult link and entrusted to people, etc. Plus the very fact that the Triforce is split into three in this game between Link, Zelda, and Ganon despite no reason or ability for it to ever once happen in this Timeline branch since clearly Ganondoef was stopped before ever entering the Sacred Realm in this timeline (hence why he didn't have it until right at the moment of his sealing). Basically, all the story beats tying TP to being a story set in Hyrule makes no sense as it's impossible for it to exist in a functional Split Timeline. And No, I do not consider the "Fallen Timeline" to be functional, as it existing doesn't make sense and fails to meet the criteria of the original split timeline (being created by Zelda zapping Link back in time using the Ocarina) Again, this is just the cliffnotes version, but suffice to say once you dig deeper you being to realize that TP just doesn't fit anywhere in the timeline (or at least the model most of us you, that being the Split Timeline as best known from the Gametrailers Zelda Retrospectivr), and the fact that the Hyrulian parts of TP feel poorly bolted on (and how Ganon being g the final boss felt kinda out of left field) along with the aesthetic tied to Majora's Mask makes it apparent that TP was probably meant to be a wholly different game originally and take place in Termina instead of Hyrule before it got fucked with partway into development. tldr, TP breaks the Timeline because Ganondorf and a dozen smaller details don't fit.
