It is the year 1,006 AR, and the planet is in danger. From a distant star a deadly solar wind is expected to run through and destroy Rel’tar civilization as we know it. Nat’oar may not be the only world colonized on Ste’lar but projections indicate that all worlds are in danger. That is where you come in-Starship Trifect of the Outpost Program. Your mission-to construct a ship designed to land and create a colony for the millions of Rel’tar onboard a giant arkship suitable for life. With no habitable worlds in sight it will be hard work, but it is the only option. Federal Command expects good results despite other ships being constructed. The ship has already finished construction on it’s superstructure and a rotary system to simulate 1g gravity in sections like cyropods. There is no time to try and restructure it’s shape but there is still room to install subsystems and place in minor modifications. Which is good since the ship itself is extremely bare-bones at the moment; lacking in many vital components for the journey ahead. With only 1 year to go-there is much work to be done. Some say too little to even test out many systems.
This is a quest revolving around survival despite the unexpected cruelty of the universe, that has turned what should have been the eventual exploration of the stars to a mad dash for survival. The inspirations will be obvious to those that go ahead so I won’t explain them. Instead it will be better to go ahead and state how this stage of the quest will go. You as the players are in charge of putting the final touches on the Trifect as it prepares to leave. You are also in command on when it will try to launch as well-which is good, since time is precious in this perilous situation. Turns will occur in 2 month intervals on the 8 month year for Nat’oar, and in a little over a year the first effects of the solar winds are projected to hit and likely impact your ship. 250 PU is budgeted to you in order to purchase both subsystems and cargo. The former is limited to 2 maximum per turn. While you can order any amount of cargo-PU baring special circumstances will not be gained, and of course you will need enough space to carry it. Lest you waste precious resources. Each will also hold mass and effect how fast your ship can go depending on the thrusters you select. Do also take in consideration that your ship needs to fit it all too. You will also be granted 1 research action for any subject, though it is incredibly unlikely to result in a major breakthrough. From refining technology, improving subsystems, to just expanding your knowledge base for when you arrive, it is key to a smart plan. Use it wisely-for I will not give you any topics. You will have to come up with it yourself.
