For 1961, Chrysler Imperials had quad-type headlamps that were mounted free-standing in alcoves sculpted into the body work. Also, notice how tiny the rims are. Most-all cars of this era had rim sizes in the mid-teens, as the tires weren't for control or performance, but were considered part of the suspension. So big fat tires on smaller rims helped give a smooth, floatier ride, which was more luxurious.
Well, yes. 12" wheels were for subcompact (Mini Cooper, which was a 900cc engine). 13" wheels for your typical putt-putt that some 30-year-old cat lady might drive. 14" wheels were for the land yacht that a family of four would be taking to the grocery store. And 15" wheels were for the truly impressive Ccaaddiillaaccss and Imperials. Low sidewalls are a menace to fine riding, and driving around like you have a head injury just makes everyone less happy and safe. A soft, luxurous ride at a temperate pace is good for you and good for everyone else.
