Plus, the effort he was putting in was to referencing old Ken Penders lore that people didn't even like in the first place, so he was basically polishing a turd. It was impressive, but would have been better if the stories he was referencing were actually good in the first place. But those DC stories are mostly well liked. Crisis on Earth-Two, Crisis on Earth-Three, JLA: Earth 2, Final Crisis. All very well loved. (Infinite Crisis from 2005, and Forever Evil and Darkseid War from 2013-2015 might be a bit more controversial, but I think they're awesome.) I don't know if Flynn is very autistic for DC lore, but I know he loves comics, so I could believe it. And he remembered Krakkl, which was cool. I could see him doing a story that detailed. But of course, this is a crossover between the Justice League and Sonic the Hedgehog. Not only is Sonic not allowed to reference the old comics lore that Flynn was really autistic for, but obviously this series should be accessible to casuals. That's the problem with all the stuff I explained in my previous posts. Final Crisis is awesome, but if you aren't familiar with decades of comics lore, you won't know what the fuck is going on. And even if you are familiar with the lore, it's still difficult. So yeah, this is a comic for ten year olds, as comics should be. And that's fine. Hopefully they still do some cool stuff though. Aside from how Amy isn't allowed to be cool or funny anymore, the first issue was a good start.

Instead he just keeps writing girls sitting around inflating each other's egos. Also, it bugged me that Silver was hanging out with Tomar-Re, who died back in the '80s, and has stayed dead. Silver also references many Green Lanterns who were introduced long after Tomar-Re died, including ones that are basically brand new, so this is clearly set later. Flynn should have known better and just called that character Tomar-Tu, Tomar-Re's son and replacement, who looks exactly the same anyway. I'm also slightly bothered that Reverse Flash seems to be Hunter Zolomon instead of Eobard Thawne. This story is clearly using Barry Allen (Thawne's nemesis) as Flash and not Wally West (Zolomon's nemesis), and again, taking place in the "present," Thawne should be the current Reverse Flash. >>37832 Where did Shadow get that Chaos Emerald from? With all the other villains, it was clear. Here it just looks like he took it out of Joker's butt.

Lex Luthor wouldn't be trying to make a deal with a new Superman, he'd be offended because he should be the new Superman. Batman has had four Robins, or actually six if you count a few that only lasted briefly. Obviously Dick Grayson should be Batman again. Wonder Woman is a title earned from the Amazonian government and not just taken by some random girl. The only one that works is Green Lantern, because it's literally a job, and I guess Flash, because there were already four Flashes. Oh and Cyborg because nobody cares about Cyborg and he's not a real member of the Justice League. The Teen Titans maybe should be a bit offended though.

But as you mentioned, the Metal Virus saga was largely that. To bring back actual dead characters would be a bit of a twist, but there aren't that many of those, and frankly, to bring them back would probably just be in bad taste. Which characters are actually dead? Gamma, Maria, and Gerald, I suppose. Maybe you could bring Gerald back and have him be a big villain who is scarier than Eggman, but would it really be that different from his story in Sonic Adventure 2? Maybe. But bringing back Gamma and Maria would be like when DC brought back the original Superman and Lois Lane as Black Lanterns. It's just in bad taste. But at least there it wasn't the whole story, they were two of zillions of zombies. In Sonic, if you brought back Maria, that would have to be the main thrust of the story. Gamma I suppose isn't even technically dead and could come back, but as a zombie? That would be dumb. Also there's already Chaos Gamma from Sonic Battle. So that leaves the Echidnas. But to bring them back as zombies would be stupid because only two of them even have names, and to have them as zombies, stripping them of their personality, wouldn't be that interesting. I guess Tikal is still around as a ghost, and using her also as a zombie would be confusing and maybe you could do stuff with that, but at this point I think it's just getting silly. But okay, you have the whole echidna society that could come back, and that would tug at Knuckles' emotions. But is this functionally very different from The Dark Brotherhood (which is functionally not very different from The Dark Legion, which is functionally not very different from the time they fought some Echidnas in that one French graphic novel)? I guess Starline is dead. They could use him. They might do that anyway. But as a zombie he wouldn't be threatening because it's his mind that makes him threatening. So yeah, you'd have to go to the Archie comics to have a bunch of dead characters to use. But those characters suck. Nobody wants to see Tommy Turtle come back, even as a zombie.
