>>28201 It was great, first Sonic game I ever played in 4K 60fps. The game is beautiful and the day stages make me wish we got more AAA Sonic games. Of course the game is not without its flaws, the Werehog is as bad as everyone said it was, some of the hubworlds are smaller than I would've liked and Sonic isn't as "cool" as he was in prior games (it's the first meta era game in a lot of ways), but all of this is overshadowed by how good the daytime gameplay is and how graphically impressive it is. I really hope 06, Sega Superstars Tennis and Free Riders all get recomped as well, it would be nice to play those games with the benefits of modern hardware and modding.

I've been putting off Eggmanland forever and really want to get it over with, but I just can't find the time.

I should continue my Unleashed playthrough. Because of this I basically halted it for a month

>>28201 I genuinely think it's perfect. Playing Unleashed again but with Silky 60 fps, no frame drops is a blessing. I was a little scared going back into it I wanted to use 0 enhancements mods to see if it was as good as I remembered it, and it shockingly still holds up really well. All the day stages feel very meaty, you are constantly reacting to obstacles trying to keep the pace going rarely stopping. Night stages aren't half bad ether, I get why some people wouldn't like them it's a bit of an acquired taste, but I think the Werehog is pretty well designed making it inoffensive at least, I also love finding skips in Night stages like Savanna citadel you don't actually have to push all the blocks you can use your shohogken into the flying punch to just barely squeak up the platforms, along with the Werehog having a pretty good flow state while platforming, you can climb up the inside of the clock tower in one smooth motion without stopping at all, and it feels great to speed blitz these stages. Tip, hold the grab button to auto latch on better than mashing to grab, couple this with holding jump and you'll instantly fire up the ledge, much faster than climbing up the ledge normally. Medals were a big concern but even those weren't that bad, I did a bunch of side missions, and giving Prof. souvenirs, I found myself casually having more than enough medals, to the point I actually ignored them in the later half. Most of the bosses were ether fun, or just okay at worst, except Dark Gia who I think flounders a bit in the colossus segments just enough for me to say it's on the bad side. The story feels really cozy, I really like the little hub worlds, the game really goes all out on making you feel like your traveling the world. It's not a flawless game, it really could have explained itself better, like the drift is so weird in this game, and the fact that the loading screen that shows you the controls doesn't included it will never not baffle me, and even worse the stages will show you button prompts for rail switching but never Drifting, the Drift ends up feeling like an easter egg if you never played Act 2. Quick tip, if you want a tighter drift, turn the opposite direction first then pull back in and Drift. It's not bad once you've tamed that beast, but very poorly communicated. Fun fact: you can drift by turning and pressing B(Slide/Stomp button) After completing everything I'd have to say it's in my Top Five.

Recently I also learned that they apparently changed the mapping for the drift shortly before release. I was confused when playing because the in-game tutorial says you need to press B to drift

I finally beat Eggmanland, it took Dozens of lives and over an hour, but I did it.

On a whim I decided to play a bit of UnWiished after playing the Unleashed Recomp and the difference in graphical quality was really jarring.

>>38473 I was able to adjust to that by just not boosting unless I know there's a lot of room ahead of me. I recall hearing that there is a way to stop boosting, but I can't figure it out. In fact the gameplay isn't that bad, it's just how bad the graphics are in comparison to the Recomp (and even in comparison to other Wii games like Secret Rings) that just constantly enforces the fact that I'm playing the worse version of a good game.

>>41202 I've only played a couple of them so far and the main difference is that the combat seems easier and it seems like there's a lot less platforming. So yes, somewhat better so far, but only because it's easier. The lack of medals to hunt for also makes it a lot better.

I tried a mod
Finally stopped procrastinating and beat the final boss of Unleashed. >Egg Dragoon was easy >Dark Gaia was hard, Gaia Colossus' attacks didn't always connect and its movement was a tad clunky. The Sonic segments were fun, but the time limit and instakill lasers on the third one made it absurdly hard, probably the hardest thing in the entire fight. >Perfect Dark Gaia was pretty easy, but it took an embarassingly high number of attempts. >The QTEs at the end were total bullshit, I died like five times because I couldn't press the square button 60 times in a second. Overall I didn't really enjoy the fight that much and when I beat it I was more glad that it was over than excited that I beat it.
