So what's the best fangame stuff out there right now, aside from BTS/ATS?
>>388 >So what's the best fangame stuff out there right now, aside from BTS/ATS? Sonic CD the s factor
>>388 Sonic CD
F R E E D O M planet
>>749 >>750 Sonic CD isn't a fangame silly.
>>754 i know, for some reason when I typed " F R E E D O M planet" it changed to sonic CD when the reply was posted. Strange, huh?
Go play Emerald Ties my niggas
>>755 Lemme try, Furrydom Planet. Free dom Planet
LOL!!!
>/fast/ actually has some activity again Holy shit, what happened? Did some anons leave /sthg/ for good?
>>986 You make it sound like it's much more active than it really is. We maybe get a few posts a week. Personally, I've been keeping /fast/ in an open tab ever since it became clear /sthg/ wasn't gonna come out of its shitposting coma for any sizeable amount of time to be enjoyable.
>>987 Shame, because when it's not filled with shitposting, /sthg/ is pretty enjoyable. And I just got banned for two days because an anon mentioned an artist possibly making lewds, meanwhile all the shitposting, bait & other garbage is allowed to happen. Ridiculous.

Heard that whatever this is will be featured at SAGE this year. Also, Sonic Project Survival is pretty ballin even though it's not at SAGE this year.
Sonic 1 Dragon Edition got snubbed at SAGE 2017. Go play it.
I swear to God I'm not baiting, but what's the appeal to Sonic Time Twisted? So many people were head over heels with it but I just can't wrap my head around what makes it so good. Clearly there's something in it I just don't see, right? Please explain
>>2442 Well, what's your problems with it?
>>2462 It's not so much I have a real tangible problem with it, it's just that on release day there was a lot of pomp and celebration over how good it was. It's a situation where if enough people are talking glowingly about something, you start to figure that something is absolutely perfect. STT just looks like another solid Sonic fan game to me. Besides the ending where Sonic kills Eggman, that's too edgy. But whatever, I won't hold that against the game.
>>2464 Ahhh, okay. Tbh I never played it, but I do remember hearing a lot of praise heaped on it & MegaMix, as well as some other fangames.
>>10322 That background is beautiful.
Is Sonic 3 Complete considered a fan game? If so I'll say that. Right, now I don't want to appear as a jaded fan or anything, but sadly, at this time I'm pretty much done with the sonic fan game/hack community. Megamix was the only thing keeping me Intrested and that hasn't been (officially) updated since 2010/11 (leaked v5). The only thing I feel still makes it appealing are the new special stages (https://youtu.be/9dGAvjVEu1A). Beyond that, it's now ALMOST a self playing game for the most part. The speed booster gimmick is overused to death! (https://youtu.be/8CS9AyAdSjs). We already have a spindash AND peelout….what's wrong with using them?🤨 I'll go as far to say, after watching people play Mania online, I'm bored of that too, and I've NOT even played it.
Knuckles in Chinaland
Hellfire Saga. (Rename the file extension to .bin and then run it on an emulator or something.)
>>18280 Hell, no pun intended I might as well throw in the older versions for archival's sake. I do have a soft spot for the 2018 original, mainly for its crudeness. The other one was for SAGE 2019, basically an earlier build of the above SHC 2019 version with some noticeable differences (such as lacking PAL optimisation, making the music slower on 50hz Mega Drives).

Does OpenSurge count? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfB1X-oe97M https://opensurge2d.org/ https://github.com/alemart/opensurge It's basically an Open Source Rewrite of the original Sonic Play-style with all of the copyrighted stuff removed, and it's pretty fun (you could say it's a Royalty-Free Fork/Continuation of OpenSonic). The new 0.5.1 version released 2 days ago has 2 Stages and 2 bosses by now (and a slight rework). I recommend you play it with a keyboard, the Xinput mapping needs a lot of work (and there's still no way to modify the controls without tweaking the input.def file).

>>18745 P.S. Correction, 4 stages in total…
>>18746 Damn, that's pretty cool! How much open source Sonic shit is available anyways?
>>18745 I wanna try and make a game in this engine. Would i be able to monetize it though?
>>18745 >OpenSonic got forked Nice
>>18897 Interesting… Thanks for the enlightment, anon.

>>18758 It's made by the same guy, so it's technically a re-work.
