Following this I made some initial test project which I won't detail, about trying to change timelines to create a new type of air/space craft using this kind of understanding, which would create another possible technology jump for Earth.
This seemed to work out, so I moved on to the next step.
Here I decided to go back to check the school of magic for the corresponding magic path, and found one I hadn't looked at before, called
black circle magic. Its entry requirement was ridiculous: level 30. For comparison the Bone Witch who accidentally inspired all of the widespread secret societies in the USA, including Skulls and Bones where CIA came from, she is level 16 and hasn't tried getting a higher standard by studying because it's too much work.
I found that there is an loophole of sorts in artifact creation, where a perfect combination can create an "immortal artifact" which is instantly level -80, that is a negative level because it's external magic, but the entry requirements are only there for the energy level needed to finish the entry test, so negative is also fine. The same thing works for extremely well tuned herbal potions, which can be treated as a "consumed artifact" and also reach level minus 80 for whoever drank it.
So by that although I don't have regular level 30 I can still enter this path, and I did. The entry procedure was among the freakiers:
The stairs up to the test room just kept going and were very dark and narrow, followed by a weird tunnel-like corridor which seemed to just get narrower as it proceeded.
The test itself involved an interview about my motivations. After this I was told to choose an artifact to represent my channelling of the path, where I chose a small knife. I was then given the main grimoire for the path for free, because apparently almost no one does this path so they didn't mind giving it, or it was just because it's high level and they give it for that reason.
This is really something though. I just started reading this book over there in a study room, and the energy is unlike anything I've seen before, hard to even describe it. It feels like my brain was instantly rewired from just opening the book.
