-=READ THE GUIDES=- Welcome to the Gunpla/Plamo General! For those new, please read our guides. We have many resources available to help you in many different aspects of the hobby. They're here for you! For the unclear, "plamo" is short for "plastic model". "Gunpla" is thus short for "Gundam plastic model". Many different kinds of models are built here, ranging from mecha to planes, cars, musume, you name it! If you're new, you're gonna screw up. Don't worry! If you're seasoned, don't make the newbies worry! >Why won't anyone answer my question? Be more specific, and try to provide clear images if you can. -=THE GUIDES=- >Gelgoog Guy's gunpla guide: gunpla.buyfags.moe >Funaka's gunpla guides: Building Gunpla: files.catbox.moe/fj5azc.pdf Scratchbuilding: files.catbox.moe/2d9ppa.pdf >Falldog's gunpla guide: otakurevolution.com/content/laymans-gunpla-guide >A guide to other types of plamo: mediafire.com/file/1vf1aw7v91pz5pa >Master Kawaguchi's gunpla tips: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJV1h9xQ7Hx-SoCOivVEHNDOl16VWLB3A >Saintism's gunpla photography guide: saint-ism.com/category/gunpla/photography -=OTHER RESOURCES=- >Gundam lineart (There's a lot!): pastebin.com/KgGJFkHa >Dalong's gunpla reviews and documentation: dalong.net >Schizophonic's gunpla/plamo reviews: schizophonic9-2.com >KenBill Blog's gunpla/plamo reviews: blog.kenbill.com >Past Groupbuilds: flickr.com/photos/197891373@N06 >Monthly Restock List: old.reddit.com/r/gunpla/1jkfd9u Prior thread (archive): https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/23201832/
>>4327 It took us this long to finally get some posable Azur Lane girls, either action figures or model kits. I've heard Plamatea is as decent as GoodSmile's other line Moederoid so I am interested.

This thing still looks stupid. I wish either Artemis or Areus had gotten a kit instead.
>>4380 plamatea is actually max factory, the same guys that make the figmas. they're just published/distributed by goodsmile
>>4407 >plamatea is actually max factory >same guys that make the figmas >they're just published/distributed by goodsmile So is it all just one big company??
>>4416 kind of. max factory is owned by goodsmile but i'm pretty sure they operate independently in terms of designing and manufacturing their products and goodsmile just handles the marketing and distribution. as opposed to moderoid where the design and manufacturing is handled in house at goodsmile as well. i could be wrong but that's how i understand it, i think max factory started as an independent company then goodsmile bought them out

I saw this today. Is Tamiya gold enamel not actually an enamel? I wanted to airbrush some and clean it up with an enamel thinner for trimming. What do you guys usually use for gold trim details?
When are the G-Quacks HQs supposed to get restocked? i want my Popo Zaku.
>>4383 I was given a Helios for my birthday and I'm gonna put the binders on rightside up. I don't care that it interferes with the satellite cannons, they can go over the shoulder instead of being underslung. The binders pointed upward look stupid as hell.
>M'Quve's Gouf Shit, I kind of want it. I only have a broken gouf custom.
(630.89 KB 1589x1655 IMG_3990.jpeg)

>>4594 but then you can't have all 4 cannons at once
Is the HG Barbatos any good? It consistently goes for pretty cheap
>>4814 yeah. its worth the price
>>4815 But is it like, actually good though I remember hearing something about the frame but surely the entire line didn't age like dogshit because of it
>>4760 I don't CARE the binders look STUPID
(265.78 KB 1073x354 2025-04-25_11-40.png)

preorders up >13k for 1/144 fixed pose i bet the 1/100 articulated volks version will be a similar price lmao
>>4817 the hg ibo frames can be a bit floppy and struggle to hold up the big weapons, there's like 4 different moulds for the frames (same parts, just different layout runners) and the later ones seem to hold up better (presumably because the moulds have seen less use). in any case, you can tighten the joints to some extent like you would tighten any kit joint
>>4817 >>4836 half of the hgibo kits i own are kinda loose. But it all cases it's because of the polycaps wearing out or outright cracking, and this problem plagues most of the hg line. Some nail polish or topcoat will fix 95% of the issues the frame has. The other major point of floppiness is the chest drum parts separating when you pose them. Again, easily fixable with some cement or glue.
>>4822 >ourslopsure even if it was half the price i'd go for volks any day of the week
After 500 years, I noticed that Mr Mark Setter has white powdery residue settled at the bottom. Are you supposed to shake and mix that powder in?
Did all the buzzword posters get lost in the migration?
>>4897 their junone was great though i'm gonna get both, personally. i really like the mk3
>>4902 8gpg is just too slow to funpost with buzzwords so I haven't bothered. sorry
4chan is back btw
>>4930 Cool, go back to your abusive husband.
So... are we going back or will /gpg/ continue here?
i'll just keep both open in tabs
>and it's dead again KWAB
in celebration i will begin work on chinkgod kino (without retail box) not sure if i wanna paint this guy or just topcoat
>>4836 Later ones as in the later ones that got released, rather than any reprint of any IBO kit? Wouldn't the earlier kits then fare better, if they were one of the first uses of the mold If the joints were fixable then it doesn't seem like a gigantic issue, I know some people's Z'Goks can be loose but it's still a fun kit >>4870 >it's the fucking polycaps I've mostly used glue, I'll try to be careful with nail polish, I remembered the floppy issue but not whether it was the easily fixable kind, thank you
So basically everyone says to build first, then paint. However, I'm doing a recolor of RX-78-2 and it really seems like painting before building is the better option. Any thoughts or opinions from people more experienced?
>>5126 Build, disassemble then paint. I always look at the finished model before painting, it helps me notice visible seams or articulation problems so I can fix those before painting.
>>5278 consult the chart and see for yourself
>>5329 So everything is plamo?
