Unpopular opinions ONLY Anonymous 04/25/2025 (Fri) 14:39:03 No. 4872
I'll start. The track choice was the worst thing about Gundam Thunderbolt. The music was distracting and did not fit the mood of the scenes AT ALL. It would have been better to just replace the whole soundtrack with generic piano+violin or silence and keep the 'artistic' songs for the credit roll.
I keep saying gundam is not a show with an "anti war" moral and people keep getting angry at me for it.
evangelion and ttgl are good shows
Astral Ocean and Pocketful were better than the first E7. It's time to admit the original series did not need to be 50 episodes long, the pacing was way too slow, and the music wasn't that good. The movie and sequel on the other hand did not have these problems while having just as good production values and were more entertaining.
>>4890 Does Gundam have any moral? For me it's a shit happens show.
I cannot for the life of me differentiate the TSFs in Muv-Luv. If an anon wants to educate a troglodyte like me then go nuts
>>4920 E7 isn't very good in general, people just remember the good parts separated from the bad.
>>4890 it stopped being "anti war" and started focusing more on newtypes
>>4975 Not that there is anything wrong with that.
>>4890 >>4975 I don't think it's ever been anti-war. "War is hell", yes. "Don't hate enemy grunts because they don't make the orders", yes. anti-war, no. Even Wing, which is battle shonen with warriors shouting at eachother about their ideals as they beat the shit out of eachother BUT WITH MECHS, essentially concedes that absolute pacifism is fine to aspire to, it will never happen without warriors to seize the needed peace.
>>4890 Most Gundam works are pro-war. Every series is about how struggle is the only way to get rid of personal problems and reach self-actualization. It's only anti-war when it comes to Newtypes, and that's more of a consequence of war happening at all.
>>5007 The distinction between "War is hell" and anti-war needs to be a bit more noticeable. I dont see pacifism being portrayed since series usually just starts seconds before the powder keg blows
Vipers Creed was good.
I found Lelouch to be an offputting character from episode 1. I rejoiced at all his failings.
>>5069 Probably unpopular mostly because no one remembers viper's creed. I liked it. Unusual twist in the very last minutes though lol
I think Akito the Exiled is the best entry in the Code Geass franchise.
Robotech had a lot more respect for its source material than current anime distributors do for the properties they handle.
>>5443 Unpopular not fucking retarded.
Dogengers fucking sucks as a TV show, it baffles me how people can enjoy 20 minutes of product placement with paper thin characters.
>>4872 Robotech is better than Voltron, and furthermore, the dubbers and writers who did the quasi-Frankenstein job to make the former don't deserve to be called butchers of anime, unlike 4kids, DIC, and post 2012-2013 crunchyroll.
>>4890 Gundam isn't even that in-depth when it comes to portraying war.
Zeta and ZZ are just as (not) good as eachother
>>5658 I agree.

Reideen was a very interesting show and was quite bold for trying several of the ideas it was trying to pull off. The mecha design was real nice too. Wish there was more pics of it. Both for Reideen herself and Gadeon
