Gundam general Anonymous 04/17/2025 (Thu) 09:09:13 No. 84
Let's start with that.
>>84 Do you think Char reincarnated into a red haired girl in Quacks because he realized it was the easiest way to get closer to little girls?
>>91 How would he reincarnate into a living child? That's some /x/ body horror stuff.
How does the Internet culture in Gundam look like? Is everything botted to oblivion? Is Tor a thing?
>>527 >Minister McGovern The shitposts write themselves, at that point people would just get paranoid about everything being some sort of psyop.
>>527 Why are you reposting shit from 4cuck?
>>555 Because it was a thread with potential.
As if you could ever contain all Gundam posts to a general
>>698 ESL bait potential
I'll just leave it here.
almost done with Zeta, why the fuck does Kamille pop open his visor in fucking space while consoling Emma
>>84 should i read advance of zeta and the other gryps conflict stuff before gundam sentinel?
>>1886 He wanted her to slap him. He developed a taste for it.
Here's your White Devil.

Rouxxx!
After War X is so boring, I'm 27 episodes in and I still don't feel anything about any of the characters
>>3210 I feel the same. The SoL on the ship is boring. Can't imagine it being aimed at kids. It's like I'm watching an afternoon office DORAMA for adults. The writers were clearly not cut out to work on mecha or action in general.
>>3212 I don't mind SoL or office drama, but you need interesting characters for that. None of these characters other than maybe Jamil have anything going for them
>>1886 He's gangsta like that.

>>3381 IT'S OVER FOR GENDUMB
Why do none of the pirate sites have the NYAV dubs of Seed or Seed Destiny? I don't want to have to download the whole show from Nyaa anytime I want to rewatch it.

>>3429 >streaming on pirate sites This is a new low.
What UC manga would make for the best anime adaptation (that doesn't go off the rails)?
>>1886 It was to show her how serious he was
How goes that Eternal gacha, for those who didn't forget in light of 4chan's demise?
>>3897 The Plot to Assassinate Gihren could be good for something in the OYW. Haman's/Char's Deleted Affair would be good for Zeta-era. After that, maybe Ecole du Ciel? Valpurgis and Valpurgis Eve are an obvious answer, but you specified that it can't go off the rails. Moon would be another good one. After that are the F91 prequels and maybe Pulitzer, but Pulitzer references out-there manga.
if i want to avoid spoilers for 79 and Zeta, which games am i able to play? i'm about halfway done with 79, the last episode i watched was Char's Return.
>>4202 >if i want to avoid spoilers for 79 and Zeta How did you survive on /m/ to this day?
>>84 there is something fucked up when they release zeon wank and the world is shit and still no char, and to make things worse to amaru or my waifu Kamille.
It's ZION, not Zeon. Proven by official materials. American censorship drives me mad.
>>4043 all things considered pretty great udk how long that will last tho
>new UC Engage teaser >Psycho Mk-III with MP Qubeleys ahaha what the fuck
>>4224 i'm new. this is literally my first time here.
>>4318 Then 4chan going down was a blessing in disguise for you. >>4202 >which games am i able to play? I wouldn't any until you are done with 0079.
Kek, I don't know why but I remembered Gundam Age all of a sudden. >grandpa, we can't kill the vagans, they are good, just look at them >Ezelcant gives a speech on how the strong should cull the week and procreate to make a master race
>>4321 i agree, 4chan is a NIGHTMARE. it's all bots. thank you for the warning. i haven't looked up anything because i want to avoid spoilers, but i really am enjoying it. Sayla is my fav character so far. she's really cool.
(91.15 KB 1000x563 1524820573562.jpg)

>>4410 >Sayla is my fav character so far. she's really cool. Then watch The Origin too.
>>4414 it's on my list! when should i watch it? i'm watching 79 with a friend, who lives on the other side of the planet, so it's slow going right now. my CURRENT plan is to finish 79, and then do Zeta, either alone or with my friend, her choice. after Zeta, i'll do ZZ and CCA, and then move towards F90/F91.
>>4415 >when should i watch it? After you're done with 0079. ZZ is not really obligatory, since it's just a bunch of random kids against Haman. Char and Amuro don't appear.
>>4415 I started with Gundam The Origin, you can watch it at pretty much any time and it should be enjoyable. Just remember that everything in it is wrong even though stuff in it will probably seep into Gcucks. Also does anyone know how to get this webm into MP4 format and under 35MB: https://v.animethemes.moe/GundamTheOriginTV-OP3.webm
>>4423 okay, thank you! is F91 as bad as i've heard? i've played a bit of the PS2 Musou, and i liked the suit, and Seabook and Cecilly were fun characters in the non-canon mode. i haven't done any Official Mode stuff because i want to avoid a lot of spoilers for the respective series, basically.
>>4429 Watch it and make your own decisions. It's something you should judge for yourself, not ask other people what your opinion is. Or are you just trolling?
>>4430 i'm just curious. i've heard that F91 is really bad. i'm going to watch it anyway, because i end up liking a lot of things people dislike in the first place, but i'm curious about the general consensus here as well.
okay i'm desperate i NEED sayla artwork but i don't want to look it up and get spoiled
>>4438 >i've heard that F91 is really bad Where did you here that from, F91 is great. F91's manga sequel has questionable writing, but the movie is kino. Has some of the coolest "combat in civilian territory" Gundam fights too.
>>4670 general stuff from people i know. like "it's not great, but some people like it" and "well, it's not so good, but it has neat things".
Why even talk about F91 if it will be weeks/months before >>4672 sees it?
>>4783 just curious. i played the PS2 Musou's crossover mode, and i ended up really liking the F91's design, along with Seabook and Cecilly.
Useful for newfriends.

the Chad Guncannon.
>>4905 Here's an even more useful one.
>>4954 >production order Hell no. I never do that for anything and I'm better off.
>>4954 i think i agree with Yamato and Harlock before Gundam. i'm not finished with 79 quite yet(we watched the Jaburo episode today, it was very good. kai is still a jerk though), but i think the knowledge of Yamato and Harlock's influence on the genre by this time helps my appreciation for both them and Gundam a lot.
>>5006 >Yamato and Harlock before Gundam Well that's not what the image is suggesting, but I agree that Yamato will give you an introduction and appreciation for Japanese scifi like no other.
Requiem for Vengeance gets a lot of hate, but what are its good points?
>>5089 The plot is "fine", I mean newtype drama with ground troops and the white devil horror angle is good on paper, the character animation though is really bad and the characters themselves are all boring or stupid.
>>5089 The actual MS fights are decently animated, and the Gundam EX does come across as genuinely menacing before the dumb pilot drama.
>>4905 This looks similar to the watch order I started with Gundam more than 10 years ago, it brings me back good memories, thank you.
okay, today i watched up to The Breakthrough(MSG Episode 32). why the fuck has the White Base crew not used their stolen Zaku yet?
>>5211 Because it's a monster-of-the-week show
>>5211 >using inferior tech >they only have 1 pilot and 2 jobbers
>>5224 Sayla already is a pilot by the time they do this, she's already been in Gundam TWICE and takes Ryu's place soon after his death. after docking in the UK they could have moved Sayla to the Zaku, Kai in Guncannon, Hayato in Guntank, and had someone else like Job John(who can pilot, he does it for Amuro at least once) pilot the Core Fighter if necessary.
>>5211 Zeon MS have a different control scheme than Federation MS and don't have learning computers. There's a reason why Amuro had to read an instruction manual to pilot the Gundam.
>>5239 >Sayla already is a pilot by the time they do this And she really impressed people piloting the Gundam, didn't she?
>>5247 i mean, i'm not saying for Amuro to pilot it, but they HAVE the Zaku. they use the computer data to improve Gundam. they can realistically load it into the MS simulator that Sayla mentions many times. it would be easy enough. >>5252 oh no she didn't kill Ramba Ral the first time she piloted a mobile suit, she's a horrible pilot how could i EVER be so stupid
Does anyone have that picture of a glancing blow by a beam rifle/beam spray gun and the shield is chewed through with dozens of holes from a manga? I've been trying to find it for awhile now, I don't even remember what it's from.
>>4905 Like how they skipped crossbone gundam. >Jupiter Empire is fucking massive and can drop the federation any day >gets taken out by literal sea pirates in space with a Jolly Roger sail and everything >as in just this one crew and they fight amongst themselves just as much >crazy space psychic twin spirits and other Jupiter Newtype shit I can’t even remember >four armed zakus piloted by monkeys >final boss is a bigass gundam piloted by Amuro Ray’s cyber brain >the crossbone gundams can do wings of light, if you even know what that is, because why not >lots of glorious nudity and eroticism that you would not have seen since the showa era >basically leads G-Savior Tomino is the fucking man.
>>5653 Crossbone takes place roughly around the same time as Victory.
>>5662 Some of Crossbone does. Most of it doesn't.
well, i finished 79. it was AMAZING. i think gay sex would have been less gay than the final Char and Amuro fight. next up: Stardust Memories, then G Witch, then i'll binge Zeta.
>>5707 That is some seriously fucked up watch order.
>>5707 Why not binge Zeta first?
>>5718 i want to watch Stardust Memories with a friend of mine, she asked so i wanted to. i'm interested in Cima's story, too. Zeta will come either next, or after GWitch. i'm watching GWitch with the same person i watched 79 with, and her schedule is erratic.
>>5729 What’s it like to have a gundam gf?
>>5730 It's okay as long as you can ignore her penis being larger than yours.
>>5730 actually, my girlfriend doesn't like gundam. her thing is Fire Emblem, or Atelier, particularly Sophie(the first, she ignores that Sophie 2 even exists). funnily enough, the girl i watched 79 with is also a lesbian lol. she's the one i'm watching GWitch with. the girl i watched 0083 with is too. the gundam fans in my life are are gay women, or my brother. anyway, personal blogging over. i finished 0083 about an hour ago, including both Cima OVAs. i think Cima might by my favourite gundam woman so far; Sayla was by far my pick for 79's best character, but Cima might take her place as my favourite. during the final credits, i couldn't hold back my tears. 0083 was amazing, i think everyone who hasn't seen it should give it a try. the visuals are incredible, the soundtrack is really, really good, and the story is engaging to the point that even taking a one day break from watching left me itching for more, beyond what 79 did. my only complaint was monsha, because he's just horrible. Nina was an amazing character, i think i liked her more than the male leads. her struggle and suffering hit hard. i liked Gato quite a lot; he's probably the zeon loyalist i like the most. i'm excited to watch Zeta now, and i think i'll watch it before GWitch because my friend is still quite busy. i'll be watching Zeta alone, but i think i'll wait a week or two before i start it. i want to let 0083 occupy my mind for some time before i move on.
>>84 How are you guys liking Gux?
>>5761 it's pretty good
>>5742 okay, so i finally got around to starting Zeta Gundam. holy shit EMMA IS A LESBIAN? i like Kamille more than Amuro already. i know Sayla won't be here because if Inoue's poor health during the 80s and 90s, so i'm a little sad about that, but i want to like Zeta on its own merits, not because of what came before, so i think it's okay if she isn't here. Quattro is extremely homosexual. there's no way he *isn't* Char, even if there's some plot twist "actually i was just pretending to be Char pretending to be someone else" ending, i won't believe it. Quattro is too gay not to be Char.
>>5742 i just finished episode 20. i need a break. if every titans member dies a horrible death it won't be good enough justice.
>>4247 I'm not that anon, but I tried it myself and didn't like it. I used my infinite pull on Asuna then went into combat, and it was too little like previous G Gen games. The lack of story, and the limited amount of stories, sucks. JP gacha devs need to get their shit together. Bamco has no excuse for this either. They have G Gen Genesis, G Gen Crossrays, and G Gen World and Overworld to look to for how to make a G Gen game and the scenarios for them, but there's fucking nothing. Other than some interesting steps forward, it's the most barebones garbage imagineable. Despite this, I held out hope and thought that the characters could save it. After all, Asuna and Ittou now had voices, but when I heard Asuna's voice, I was tipped over the edge and uninstalled the game. It was so generic that I couldn't stand it. The grip the seiyuu industry has on voice acting should be shattered. >>5882 >holy shit EMMA IS A LESBIAN? Emma is like a sister, or even mother, for Kamille. You should read the oneshot manga "My First Triumph for more of her backstory. It's a flashback that happens right before her defection in Episode 4. In Zeta Define, a retelling of Zeta by the animation director (and good friend of Tomino) closer to the initial lines of Zeta's first proposals, Emma jerks Kamille off. >>5887 External content, especially AoZ, expand on the Titans more, but, since you've already watched 0083, you know what (post facto) caused the Titans to be adopted as the Federation's blood hounds and have a general feeling of what little remaining Earthnoids (post facto) think of the Spacenoids who now vastly outnumber them. If 0083 isn't worth considering, remember that Spacenoids killed 80% or more of the human race in the OYW. Since you liked 0083, you should read the REBELLION series of manga and Gundam Legacy. Everything other than 0083 REBELLION is self contained (because they're based on games) and at least vaguely canon because they were only later given the REBELLION label, but 0083 REBELLION is a retelling and expansion of 0083 with the second half's director as the writer. It's not exactly canon, but it's pretty good. Unfortunately, you can't go into it on its own.
>>5902 Frozen Teardrop anime when?
>>5917 i finished Zeta about a week ago. i've been meaning to post but i haven't had the energy. that ending was soul crushing. i'm doing ZZ soon, i just need a break. Zeta was soul crushing.
>>5938 ZZ has a different, lighter, tone for the first half. If Zeta's ending hit you that hard, the first two thirds of IGLOO will hit like a truck. If you want more Zeta, you should read >Four Story - And to a soldier… >Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Sayonara >Haman's Deleted Affair/Char's Deleted Affair >Mobile Suit Gundam Wearwolf >Sayla Mass: Farewell to Yesterday
>>5940 i will definitely read the Sayla thing. i don't know if 'm ready for more Four. Four was probably my favourite Zeta character. i was really hurt by how her story ends.
>>5943 >the Sayla thing There's a translation on Zeonic, but https://www.recognizer.net/gundam/whitenight/whitenight-low.html has the translation and the images meant to go with it. It's pretty good and lets you know what Sayla was doing during Zeta. If you remember the beginning of MSG, Sayla was training to be a doctor. >Four was probably my favourite Zeta character Four Story is about her time at the Murasame Labs and her escape from them. If you liked Miharu, you'll find it heart wrenching. As for the other stories, they are >Sayonara Some of Rosamia's backstory. This, My First Triumph, and I think White Knight of the Round Table (a story about Sarah Zabiarov's backstory), are included in CDA, but they were also released separately, so you'll just have to hunt for their chapters if you don't wantto read CDA. You get some more background on Rosamia in Four Story too. Sayonara, My First Triumph, White Knight, and Four Story all paint a clear picture of what it means to become a Cyber Newtype. >Wearwolf A mystery about what Jerid was doing between Zeta and ZZ. Its character designs are a little yaoi-like. >HDA/CDA A prequel to 0083 and Zeta that gives a backstory to Quattro, Haman, and Mineva. It was written by a long time animation director for UC Gundam from the Z/ZZ/CCA era and a friend of Tomino, and he's currently publishing a longrunning rewrite of Zeta and sequel to HDA/CDA called Zeta Define which is closer in many ways to Tomino's original Zeta plan, including Char being the main character, and includes characters you won't see until ZZ and onward. It's not necessary to read Zeta Define after reading HDA/CDA. In fact, I'd caution against it until you've finished watching all of the UC anime. This reminds me, the director for the second half of 0083 was also the director of IGLOO.
>>5944 i've been busy, but i've started ZZ. i'm about 6 episodes in. it's kind of slow, but i like it so far. Judau dropping a homophobic slur out of nowhere made me laugh in the "wait, what the hell?" kind of way. i like his gang a lot, they're fun. it's very different from Zeta; the 80s shoujo feel is completely gone. i can't help but wonder if this is because of the gap in production between Zeta and ZZ. this isn't a complaint, of course, but i did like that Zeta felt like it was made for women. my hope is that CCA goes back to that feeling. i need to dedicate some time to reading Sayla and Four's stories, but i think i want to take a break from the heavy content for now. Zeta's ending was pretty hard, and besides that, i need something easier on my mind now anyway. after ZZ, i will probably go right into CCA. a few friends have asked me to watch F91 with them, so i want to get to that soon. after that, i think i'll go into GWitch. i'm told Victory is very difficult, so i think i'll wait a while for that. thank you for your information so far, and for the pateince with my slow replies. i'm enjoying Gundam a lot more than i thought i would. originally i really did just want to watch 79 for the novelty and then move to F91 and GWitch, but i think i will follow UC to the end now.
>>5962 >ZZ There aren't a lot of materials which spin off of ZZ, but Formation of the New Desides/Gundam Sentinel and Moon Gundam aren't too bad. Moon Gundam is about Moon Moon after the events of ZZ and connects ZZ, CCA, and Unicorn by providing backstory for Char and Mineva during CCA. Sentinel is a really old novel meant to be the sequel to Zeta before ZZ was made, but the two don't retcon each other. It's like a smaller version of the Boshin War but with MS. Formation of the New Desides is its prequel. If you like sidestories and early CGI, you can watch the following Gundam EVOLVE episodes without breaking the canon of where you are now, in this order >1 >11 >4 >12 >13 >9 After ZZ, you can watch 2 and 10. >Victory Sans IGLOO (and Thunderbolt, another can of worms), you've been watching chronologically so far, and Victory is a ways off. The Unicorn era after CCA is kind of a mess when it comes to companion materials because Unicorn was, for the longest time, a novel series like Hathaway, which I don't recommend waiting for the movie releases of before proceeding. I'll probably post what I recommend for Unicorn when the time comes. Victory itself isn't that hard to read the companion materials for because it and F91 were made with companion materials meant to be read before them in mind. For F91, these are, in order >F90 >F90 Fastest Formula (recent, so not really necessary, but finished) >F90 Cluster (ongoing sequel to the previous item, so not really necessary, but I'd recommend it and FF if they're finished by the time you reach F91) >Silhouette Formula: Ghost of Formula 91 >Formula Wars 0122 >Silhouette Formula 91 in U.C. 0123 For Victory, these are, also in order >Crossbone Gundam: First Cross >Crossbone Gundam >Crossbone Gundam: Skull Heart >Crossbone Gundam: Steel 7 Crossbone was actually published after Victory, but the thing about Crossbone is that it's an amalgamation of F91 when it was a series and F91's canned sequel, F92. Starting from Ghost, which takes place at the same time as Victory and isn't recommended to be read at this point, things get a little more out-there because everything is converging on G-SAVIOUR, which you should read as a novel. The novelization fixes the issues between the movie and other canon. As for Victory in general, Tomino was at his lowest during it. It was when Sunrise was being bought by Bandai, a toy company. After decades of rocky relations with Sunrise and sponsors, especially around toys, that came to a pause with the success of CCA, there was huge pressure to sell toys. Tomino went off the rails and made things that look good as toys, but when you think about them in the context of a war... Anno is a big fan of Victory. When the DVDs were released, Tomino said no one should buy them. Watch episodes 2-4, then 1. Tomino originally wanted the series to start without Uso, the protagonist, gaining a Gundam in episode one, but Bandai forced him to do it for toy sales. Thus, episode 4 became episode 1, and episodes 1-3 became 2-4 told as flashbacks. >G-Witch I really don't like G-Witch, but you do you. I watched most of it when it aired. For it, I recommend >Witch from Mercury PROLOGUE >Cradle Planet There's also Vanadis Heart, which is an ongoing sequel to Prologue and should be read before Cradle Planet when it's finished, but, again, it's ongoing. However, it's a sort of desperate necessity due to the huge difference in tone between Prologue and G-Witch.
>>5963 I forgot to mention this: Moon Gundam is based on an early draft of Unicorn and has a whole production committee behind it.
>>5963 i've basically been going in release order, but i'll either do Unicorn or Victory after GWitch, i'm unsure. F90 Formula Report, the super famicom game, was kind of a mess. that's also a part of the F91 additional materials, isn't it? the only thing i know about Victory is Katejina. i know that she's a deplorable woman that even Tomino thought death was too good for her. GWitch is yuri, so i want to give it a try. most of my Gundam friends, including the girl i watched 79 with, are also lesbian/bisexual woman, and they're fans, so i wanted to watch it so i could discuss it with them. thank you again for the information!
>>5968 >i'll either do Unicorn or Victory after GWitch Unicorn is an especially not-Tomino UC entry. I like to take a chronological approach to Gundam, but it's understandable that F91/Victory may be more appealing than the last hurrah of Zeon Remnants in the Earth Sphere and the two animated sequels (one of which, Twilight Axis, is really a companion piece to a novel for a subscription-based club) after it. Also, I mixed up the F91 recommended reading. It should be >F90 >F90FF >F90C >Formula Wars 0122 >Silhouette Formula 91 in U.C. 0123 F91 takes place in 0123 03 16, but Ghost of Formula takes place in 0123 03 31. That means Ghost of Formula should be before First Cross. I hadn't updated my notes. Sorry about that. Not counting F90C, there are only 67 chapters for what I've recommended to read before F90, so it shouldn't be that hard to catch up on. The bulk of that is F90FF, anyway. A thing I feel I have to mention now is that, when it comes to manga translation, Spitelations and ArcturusDaemon are two names to be cautious of. They translate a lot, but they're low effort MTLfags, so getting through their translations, especially the early stuff, takes some work. However, they're the only translated sources for a lot of stuff. >Formula Report Formula Wars is a manga adaptation of Formula Report. I should have mentioned that. An interesting line in Gundam side content is how Advance of Zeta and the Formula Sequence set up Mars. When it comes to Gundam, game canon is never really canon unless the game's events have never been adapted but are referenced by other works, including games which are based around canon works. For example, Zero Murasame is a character who has appeared in multiple games. He even appeared in G Gen Genesis. However, Zero Murasame has, as far as I know, never appeared in a canon non-game work despite being the world's first Cyber Newtype. This could just be my own interpretation, however. >G-Witch is yuri That was a whole clusterfuck on its own, but it's spoilers to get into here.
>>5972 thank you again for the info. also, bandai really does not want people to get the Zeta OST. it's completely impossible to find unless you import it second-hand, but since Japan is not sending mail to where i live... it was quite easy to find 0083's OST, shockingly.
