New Board - /news/ Mark Board owner 09/05/2024 (Thu) 23:42:02 Id: 37f312 No. 1 [Reply]
Created for the sole purpose of covering the 2024 election, and due to the user base being put off from /pol/ due to the heavy-handed amount of word filters and themes. I decided to make a board in order for the people who want to discuss the election without having to flood the GG thread. I promise to give away or delete this board once the election is over and done with, since I feel some amount of burden for the current state of >>>/pol/ since I handpicked the Board Owner for the role when I was impressed by his application when he wanted to become the new BO of /pol/ during my time at OG 8chan. If you desire to take the board over for yourself, and have a good enough pitch. Feel free to reach out to me and I'd be happy to hand it over. That being said, let the shitshow begin.

>>1 Someone came over, and I trust them, so I gave the board to them.

Election 2024: Trump VS Harris Anonymous 09/06/2024 (Fri) 00:01:17 Id: 16dd99 No. 3 [Reply] [Last]
ABC News is hosting the second presidential debate on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. It will be the first time Harris and Trump debate each other. We will be having a stream for the event, but encourage users to post here and share their thoughts amongst each other. I would also like to remain politically neutral as possible, but sadly it seems Kamala will try and shut us down if she wins office. Please vote for Trump in 2024 so we can continue to have a somewhat free country. Stream: TBA

>>344 Until they are not useful anymore
>>327 But the Republican turnout was anomalously high in 2020 too.
>>346 Probably to make the fraud look more believable. They did fake democrat and republican votes, just way more democrat ones.

WE'RE SO BACK Anyway, in case you didn't hear it or read it yet the manifesto/journal/schizo ramblings of the pooner who shot up that Tennessee school last year finally leaked in full after ~18 months of the authorities stalling and it's about as insane as you'd expect. Constant fixation on cocks and buttsex, severe mental illness on display, et cetera. I can't upload it directly as it's 118MB but here's a catbox. You can also get it through the paper that published it using a burner email but it's watermarked so fuck 'em. https://files.catbox.moe/bjqk7p.pdf I fully expect that his place will probably get deleted when someone makes another IRL effortpost (if not sooner) but for now this should be a fun ride.

>>212 I wonder if she bought that outfit just for this middle finger photo shoot. I wouldn't expect a woman married to someone who has been a senior Democrat official for decades to just have a full on "Republican red" outfit in her closet.

Tim Walz’s family members go viral as they allegedly turn against him, pose in ‘Walz’s for Trump’ shirts Anonymous 09/06/2024 (Fri) 03:51:10 Id: c48be3 No. 16 [Reply]
https://archive.md/e70xa Political commentators were in an uproar on social media Wednesday after a picture purportedly showing eight relatives of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz expressing support for former President Donald Trump went viral. “Tim Walz’s family back in Nebraska wants you to know something…,” Cornhusker State Republican Charles W. Herbster wrote on X Wednesday morning alongside the photo, which The Post has not been able to independently confirm shows Walz’s relatives. Rod Edwards, a political operative who helped disseminate the image told The Post that the people in it were related to Walz through his paternal great-uncle — his grandfather’s brother — but declined to give their identifies, claiming they were overwhelmed by the attention.
>>16 He must be really shitty if his entire family turned on him.
>>16 I guess this is how RFK Jr. felt when his family denounced him for supporting Trump.
Somewhat old news now, but the people pictured wearing 'Walz's for Trump' shirts are indeed related to Tim Walz. Though they are cousins. And Tim Walz's own older brother is completely against him running for vice president. That photo of people wearing ‘Nebraska Walz’s for Trump’ shirts? They’re distant cousins https://archive.md/nd4KJ >A sister of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz says she doesn’t recognize the people wearing “Nebraska Walz’s for Trump” T-shirts in a photo that is making the rounds on social media. It turns out they are distant cousins. >The photo shows eight smiling people wearing navy pro-Trump shirts, underneath a “Trump 2024 — Take America Back” sign. The photo was eventually reposted by former President Donald Trump, who wrote on his Truth Social platform: “It is a Great Honor to have your Endorsement. I look forward to meeting you soon!” >The photo was first posted on X by Charles Herbster, a former candidate for governor in Nebraska who had Trump’s endorsement in the 2022 campaign. Herbster’s spokesperson, Rod Edwards, said the people in the photo are cousins to the Minnesota governor, who is now Kamala Harris’ running mate. >“The family in the picture are the descendants of Francis Walz, who was brother to Tim Walz’s grandfather,” Edwards said. “They’re all Walzes and spouses.” >The descendants of Francis Walz confirmed their relationship to Tim Walz in a text message to The Associated Press. >“Shortly after Governor Tim Walz was named the Democrat Party Vice Presidential nominee, our family had a get-together. We had t-shirts made to show support for President Trump and J.D. Vance and took a group picture. That photo was shared with friends, and when we were asked for permission to post the picture, we agreed,” the written statement said. >“The picture is real. The shirts are real. We are the Nebraska Walz family and we are related to Gov. Tim Walz, our grandfathers were brothers. The message on the shirts speaks for itself, “Nebraska Walzs for Trump.” >Walz’s sister, Sandy Dietrich, of Alliance, Nebraska, said she suspected it might be people from that branch of the family. Dietrich and Walz’s father, James Walz, died of lung cancer in 1984 when the future congressman and Minnesota governor was just a teenager. His father had been the school superintendent in Valentine, Nebraska. >“We weren’t close with them. We didn’t know them,” she said. >In recent days, the New York Post has reported on Facebook comments from the governor’s older brother, Jeff Walz of Freeport, Florida, in which he said of his younger sibling: “The stories I could tell. Not the type of character you want making decisions about your future.” The 67-year-old also wrote that he was “100% opposed to all his ideology” and had thought about endorsing Trump, the Post reported.

Summit of the Future: A push to get nations to submit to a global government with the UN at the helm Anonymous 09/22/2024 (Sun) 16:42:20 Id: 647fa7 No. 107 [Reply]
https://archive.ph/8EFaU Article is from 10 days ago. This meeting is happening today. >Three documents the UN is hoping will be adopted by 193 nations at a summit in 10 days lack transparency and use ambiguous language. >The ‘Pact for the Future’ dilutes the paramount importance of human rights. The ‘Declaration on Future Generations’ raises questions about who can legitimately represent the interests of hypothetical future generations. And the ‘Global Digital Compact’ is an attempt by the UN to place itself in the driver’s seat to manage and control the digital revolution for all nations. >With these three documents, the UN is pushing for centralised global governance with itself at the helm. >The Summit of the Future being held on 22-23 September, was initiated by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres through his 2021 report entitled ‘Our Common Agenda’; an agenda to “forge a new global consensus on what our future should look like.” >The UN’s aim is that the Summit will adopt the Pact for the Future with its annexes the Declaration on Future Generations and Global Digital Compact.
There is at least one country that refused to sign the pact. https://archive.is/K6Cm8
The speeches I heard was mostly talking about AI and racism. It's good human rights is being expanded.

Election officials warn that widespread problems with USPS could disrupt voting Anonymous 09/11/2024 (Wed) 23:56:15 Id: a5ee53 No. 97 [Reply]
https://nypost.com/2024/09/11/us-news/election-officials-warn-usps-issues-could-disrupt-voting/ https://archive.ph/bd17a >State and local election officials from across the country on Wednesday warned that problems with the nation’s mail delivery system threaten to disenfranchise voters in the upcoming presidential election, telling the head of the U.S. Postal Service that it hasn’t fixed persistent deficiencies. >In an alarming letter, the officials said that over the past year, including the just-concluded primary season, mailed ballots that were postmarked on time were received by local election offices days after the deadline to be counted. They also noted that properly addressed election mail was being returned to them as undeliverable, a problem that could automatically send voters to inactive status through no fault of their own, potentially creating chaos when those voters show up to cast a ballot. >The officials also said that repeated outreach to the Postal Service to resolve the issues had failed and that the widespread nature of the problems made it clear these were “not one-off mistakes or a problem with specific facilities. Instead, it demonstrates a pervasive lack of understanding and enforcement of USPS policies among its employees.” >The letter to U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy came from two groups that represent top election administrators in all 50 states. They told DeJoy, “We have not seen improvement or concerted efforts to remediate our concerns.” >“We implore you to take immediate and tangible corrective action to address the ongoing performance issues with USPS election mail service,” they added. “Failure to do so will risk limiting voter participation and trust in the election process.” >A message seeking a response from the U.S. Postal Service was not immediately returned. >The two groups, the National Association of Secretaries of State and the National Association of State Election Directors, said local election officials “in nearly every state” are receiving timely postmarked ballots after Election Day and outside the three to five business days USPS claims as the standard for first-class mail. >The letter comes less than two weeks after DeJoy said in an interview that the Postal Service was ready to handle a flood of mail ballots expected as part of this November’s presidential election and as former President Donald Trump continues to sow doubts about U.S. elections by falsely claiming he won in 2020. >That year, amid the global pandemic, election officials reported sending just over 69 million ballots in the mail, a substantial increase from four years earlier. >While it’s likely that number will be smaller now, many voters have embraced mail voting and come to rely on it. And both Democrats and Republicans have launched efforts to push supporters to vote early, either in person or by mail to “bank” their votes before Election Day on Nov. 5. >The letter went out on the day the first mailed ballots of this year’s general election were being sent, to absentee voters in Alabama. >Postal Service officials told reporters last month that almost 98% of ballots were returned to election officials within three days in 2020, and in 2022, the figure was nearly 99%. DeJoy said he would like to inch closer to 100% this election cycle and that the Postal Service is better positioned to handle ballots than four years ago. >But officials in rural states have been critical of the Postal Service for years as it has consolidated mail-processing centers to cut its costs and financial losses. >In addition to being signed by the current and incoming presidents for both groups of election officials, the leaders of groups that represent local election officials in 25 states were listed.
