Trench crusade Trench Crusade 04/18/2025 (Fri) 13:13:56 Id: 553e6b No. 1493
It's the most astroturfed war game I've ever seen /tg/ and I'm interested in doing more digging on this game. What do we know about 28mag?

>>2985 Just a little guy and his friend :) >>1493 The art is good for stealing/getting influence from atleast, but that's about it
>>3418 >The art is good for stealing/getting influence from atleast, but that's about it Yea it'll inspire some good art.
>>3411 >Why is th map not a total disaster if it's been 800ish years? You know you retards could just read the lore instead of asking this question over and over and over when it's directly addressed like, right away in some of the first pages of the setting primer. Demons are immortal. 800 years to them is the blink of an eye. They are in no rush to conquer to world, in fact, they enjoy the suffering that a slow grindy war of attrition causes. They are also backstabbing, conniving bastard fucks that spend far more time fighting each other over the power dynamics of the courts of Hell than they do banding together to fight the Faithful forces of Humanity. Only every once in awhile (read: every few centuries or so) do they have some kind of big, major, coordinated offensive into non-Hell lands, and when they do, it carves out massive new tracts of land. Then the Faithful side spends the next few centuries slowly pushing them back and reclaiming some of that ground. The point is not to win. The point is to have a forever war, because war is hell.
>>2985 You're a retard who hasn't read a single bit of the lore. You need to actually read the shit if you're going to criticize it. >At least the bullshit plate armour in 40K is made out of sci-fi materials like plasteel or ceramite, but why are soldiers wearing shit that won't stop a bullet and will only weigh them down more? Case in point. All of your opinions are now worthless because you just proved you haven't even opened the fucking lore document, or you'd know that the armour in Trench Crusade is also made out of fantasy material unobtanium shit from divinely inspired alchemical metallurgy.
>>3425 >muh orichalcum Nah, this shit is gay and visually incoherent. Why would you want a Christianity themed game from greasy fags who think the pope is a nazi or hold some other sheltered retard opinion? Why would you play shit like this over Inquisitor, Mordheim or Necromunda? Because it has some of the people who worked on these games in the past? Cool. Are you the same type of guy who would play Mighty Number 9 over Megaman because you love sucking Inafune's cock? >>3424 The lore primer and timeline sucked.
>>3424 Just makes the demons look like total retards. 800 years and this is all they got. Its like Abaddon all over again, thousands of years and they didn't get anywhere.
>800 years and Hell has nothing to show for it Fucking muds in 150 years were able to conquer land from Spain to India.
>>3424 >>3425 This the most flimsy excuse I've read in a while. Are you Ditch Jihad shills this fucking retarded?
Heads up /tg/ TC discord fags are aware of this thread .
>>2228 Gotta be honest, this map is the main reason why I clocked out of TC, even ignoring all the back-and-forth culture war stuff. It's already been said in this thread, but really, 800 years of war with DEMONS and there's barely any changes in the borders? Minimal changes when it comes to the European nations? They can make up excuses like this anon >>3424, but it doesn't change the fact that it just makes Hell look like a bunch of dweebs, considering they've got all the major advantages like technological superiority and damn near complete control of the seas and skies (which also makes them even more retarded, because heretics have easier access and influence to the rest of the godless world, since apparently "colonialism" with all its missionaries never happened). I'll just enjoy the art and forget the lore ever existed, it was better when it was just snippets created for the beautiful artworks.
>>3243 That's still one of my favorite pieces to come out of the whole concept. Maybe give it another decade and the masses will get tired of the brainrot so it stops working its way into everything. It probably won't happen but larger shifts have happened in shorter periods I suppose. >>3476 Are you me? I'd wanted a reason to model a somewhat fantastic WW1 and to make my Dieselpunk, Otomo clan samurai (>>2973 it's me, I'm kitbashing and none but the one true god can stop me. Fireforge Samurai and WGA world war models) praising the name of Jesus-sama for over a decade and this was finally the excuse to do it. Nuts if the game lore is just plain retarded. It plays well so we'll just do what I did with WHFB lore and ignore the parts I don't like. I personally HATE the idea that Hell owns the oceans. >LMAO, no naval battles, hell already won those faggot >That means no slapping the shit out of heretics at Jutland
Some designs are just too edgy for me.
>>3476 >>3477 The game's world is so poorly thought out and they've used none of the kickstarter money wisely.
>>2228 Wait this is the official map? How the hell is this a grimdark map, if so little of the map is demon infested? The culture of Europe should be radically changed along, with the map showing a dire situation of struggle. Who approved this map?
>>3479 Half naked chick sprayed in blood? That is actually cool as fuck. Should be more of that.
>>3498 I personally think it's a bit too edgy for me.
>>3449 >Implying they bother coming here now that 4chan is up Are they saying anything funny about us?
>>3501 Most likely thinking we're nazis or some other leftist brain rot.
>>3479 I don't think it's edgy, but it doesn't feel cohesive with the rest of it. It's random Mike Franchina art of stuff, just cool shit he drew that they are trying to staple together post facto. I wish them luck in this foolish endeavor.
>>3479 >because heretics have easier access and influence to the rest of the godless world, since apparently "colonialism" with all its missionaries never happened). I'll just enjoy the art and forget the lore ever existed, it was better when it was just snippets created for the beautiful artworks. Hate to double post but I wanted to mention this because you brought up missionaries. Why not touch on some of the reasons for initially exploring the world before the discovery of the Americas by the medieval explorers? Like looking for other ways to travel to Asia and other explorers that wanted to find allies there who would help defend Christendom. There were even rumours at the time about hidden Christian kingdoms. Why not play into that? Why not make the world more fantastical and turbulent? Playing with Christian syncretism would be fun too, but then again I think that Umberto Eco shit all these fags read said syncretic elements are fascist.
>>3509 Anon it's obvious that the TG devs are cowards, why do you think they neutered the muslims and tried to avoid the issues of colonialism? Muslims with their history of invasions, conquest, and war, but when the "Great Enemy" finally arrived all they did for 800 years was hide behind a cuck wall?
>>1493 So final consensus, Trench Crusade sucks.
>>3514 It's literally "style over substance" the setting. Art looks cool but if you take even a slightly closer look everything falls apart
>>3510 >Muslims with their history of invasions, conquest, and war, They love pretending the crusades were purely European aggression. when it was a response to 400 years of Muslim invasions.
>>3479 >wowee le segsee naken strong womyn Just shoot her, pretty sure them tits ain't bulletproof. >>2275 Ah yes, the skaven, good to see they're doing well, probably still spreading the plague
>>3424 So the ""invasion"" is just demons coming to earth to dick around with eachother? Wow, what a compelling narrative
>>3567 It's fucking pathetic.
(119.87 KB 902x960 1454651984911-2.jpg)

>>3567 Would be more cool to have the player pushing armies into hell. Take their land, destroy them. Let them cry and wail as they realize once they're dead they cease to exist because hell is not theirs anymore.
>>3600 That would be hecking colonialism you chud! Think of the poor demon folxs
Shame this fell apart.
>>3868 How do you fuck up a setting like this?
So is this game selling?
>>3871 The kickstarter was a massive success. No idea how good it did after that though. As much as I dislike it it probably is doing pretty well. Some wargamers will buy fucking anything.
>>3871 It did 5 million USD which like it or not is an objective success. >>3873 If it'll keep it's momentum remains to be seen as the left wing part of tabletop gaming really wants this to replace 40k.
>>3875 > left wing part of tabletop gaming really wants this to replace 40k. I doubt that, they usually try to pull the le heckin media literacy card nowadays when discussing over the top settings as an excuse to change it. I know one lefty guy who just got into warhammer, he more or less respects the lore, but he does that pretty regularly.
>>3876 There are a lot of lefties who are really pushing TC.
