To keep the conversation going, I take it you aren't into multi-splat parties in CofD. Is that right?
I feel like CofD had managed to get a good midway point between WoD's general rule of different types of monster not having frequent enough contact and Curseborne's expectation that they are often working together. Play as Mortals was designed first and every other splat building off of that meant that each splat could feel similar enough for people to carry over knowledge yet distinct enough to feel like different species.
Another thing worth mentioning is that they seem to be going for more of a nobledark angle compared to the grimdark that oWoD went for, possibly as another point of contrast. I have no doubt that people didn't entirely play Chronicles like curseborne was written to be played, but it does seem like they are pushin to be even more distinct from oWoD.

Cool to hear. Yeah. At least Requiem and Forsaken got a decent amount of official material out before they were canned. Mos lines besides that, you can count the number of books for them on one hand. I image that Dave Brookshaw will probably have to push Fallen Worlds out as an unofficial product like how some of Deviant's devs are making their own homebrew in light of CofD being nixed by Paradox.

I saw on storyteller's vault that someone did their own re-imagining of Beast, which de-emphasised the gratuitous reliance on other splats and went for something that might be a bit more like your idea.
Here it is:

Me personally, I would attempt to write it something a little more in line with the Leviathan fansplat. But this might serve as a good point of interest for you.
