The combat is pretty janky, the graphics are so-so (iirc it's a literal UE asset flip), the voice acting is subpar (even though nobeta's VA isn't a newbie, she's shamiko) but my biggest complaint is the magic system. You'd think that a witch would fight by casting spells from afar, more so since she's a vulnerable little girl, but the game encourages you to smack monsters up close with the staff to build up the meter faster (there's even a perfect guard mechanic to minimize damage). And there would be nothing wrong with this if there was a way to cast spells faster, but even with maxed out stats there's no way to cast even the most basic spell in less than 5 seconds. If you've ever played dragon's dogma before, imagine if every spell had the casting time of grand bolide. Nobeta, the little WITCH, sucks at spellcasting. Why even give her a staff if she's terrible with it? I'm not even gonna talk about all the controversy behind the dev (long story short, he spent the money on commissions and other miscellaneous stuff of nobeta, which does sell, but he also abandoned the game in favor of this), i don't care as long as the product is good, but the problem here is that it's half baked.
