So did anyone get a pre-order today? I got mine(GameStop in-person) along with a physical of Mario Kart, I'm now all set for June 5th. I got there at about 8am this morning and was the 2nd person in line. I waited out for 4 hours until the store opened and made my pre-order for the base unit. I had some fun conversations with the people in line, it really felt like there was energy in the line that was forming, even in a city as small as mine there were many people who wanted to reserve a system day 1. I went back later after running a few errands to pre-order Mario Kart. How were everyone else's experiences?

But MK8D is still selling? Even now after World's announcement? It really does just keep on trucking. At this point I wonder if it could somehow keep on selling to some extent even after the Switch2 has launched. But that also means MK8D has been selling for what might soon be a decade straight. And with that in mind. Even though they haven't said anything about it yet, we can all very much take it for granted that World will get some kind of Booster Course Pass treatment right? But I wonder if it'll get the same kind of Booster Course Pass treatment. Or if they'll try to do some kind of Smash hype cycle. Or if they might end up doing something like Splatoon free updates alongside recurring events or something.

Otherwise yea, and largely the reason is that they aren’t going for the hyper-realistic look and instead focusing on aesthetic. Making a cartoony game won’t eat up resources whereas attempting hyper-realism is gonna leave an uncanny valley and graphical compromises to make sure it doesn’t cause your pc to explode
