Battlefield / Call of Duty thread Anonymous 08/06/2025 (Wed) 14:58:51 Id: 45a642 No. 1636209
Seems like Battlefield 6 is getting a bit of excitement in the normalfag sphere due to normalfags getting a bit upset with the direction Call of Duty has been taking itself in recent years. I noticed that secure boot is required because of EA's shitty anti-cheat, so I figured that was something worthy of note. Still I believe there's an Open Beta going on right now with Battlefield 6 hitting capacity of them having over 20,000 people waiting to get into the game. I'm not particularly looking forward to the game since I already play Cawwaduty sometimes since it comes with my Gamepass subscription, but what do you faggots think? Are you looking forward to the new Battlefield? or do you just not care about these shitty popcorn shooters. FUCK YOU ACID LET ME POST
>>1858845 >is the player not given the choice of choosing the gender of the soldier ? Yeah you can't choose so far as i've seen. There is some customization options to change how your character looks. It does seem like maybe 55% of characters are female but there is certainly men voices in there. I hardly notice female player models in there. At first I hated the female voices but I got over it. Not sure how I feel about getting used to that. >for a supposedly veteran in the series. Kinda. I mostly started properly with battlefield 3. >open weapons They have buffs when you use them on the proper class. Engineers get better hipfire with smgs for example. I think carbines and shotguns aren't bound to a class. I feel like it's nice to be able to play recon if I need to but not be hard bound to a dmr or sniper for example. I feel like it opens up more team play opportunities. >>1858845 >The cod-ification is unfortunate but inevitable. I feel like it's only as much as COD as bf3 / bf4 are. Take that which ever way you want but it's certainly not modern cod like black ops 6, at least not to me. People hold angles and corners. People sometimes, hopefully mostly push as a squad or team. People smoke their way to objectives. There's a lot of team play that I see that isn't in COD and people coming from COD and other shooters like my mates seem to enjoy and prefer it. I don't really see how people call this COD. It has sprint and ADS sure but it doesn't have dolphin diving or omni movement.
>>1858986 The class specific guns are buffed on their class. I don't get what the big deal is?
>>1858960 >Yeah you can't choose so far as i've seen. Peculiar that this is the case. >>1858960 >Kinda. I mostly started properly with battlefield 3. Started there, too. Though only properly got into the meat of Battlefield with 4. >>1858960 >I think carbines and shotguns aren't bound to a class. That was the case since BF3 as well if I remember correctly. Battlefield 4 had the perfect system of making DMRs (worse snipers), Carbines (worse ARs) and shotguns (worse SMGs) be open for all clases, I'm using the word worse here figuratively to demonstrate why making those type of weapons open for everyone was fine, since those weapon types don't necessarily fit into a specific category. >>1859005 >The class specific guns are buffed on their class. I don't get what the big deal is? I just don't see the benefit other than appealing to non-Battlefield players, and like I said, it's a core aspect of the series where the players have limited weaponry depending on what class and role they choose during the match. >>1858960 >I feel like it's only as much as COD as bf3 / bf4 are. Do keep in mind a lot of my thoughts are based on what I see on video and not actual first-hand gameplay. It just looks to me like it's faster in the sense that your soldier is a superhuman able to do many things back to back without delay like a machine, it's all small things but for example: Battlefield 4's movement had weight to it, the animation was long enough during certain acts like throwing grenades, vaulting over obstacles etc, those little things added a lot to authenticity I find. Even the spam jumping while sprinting wasn't really that effective. In BF6 it looks twitchy and fast, that's where it feels closer to COD or those ultrafast BR games. It doesn't look as bad as those thankfully, but I do wish they just stuck with for example BF5's movement which is already pretty fast and not one-up that. And when I mean COD I do in fact mean the older ones, not whatever the fuck is going on in the series recently. I guess I should just say Bf6 looks more arcade-y in general, without necessarily taking that from COD. Though we all know for a fact they make it more arcade-y specifically to steal away some of the COD playerbase. I guess I put way too much emphasis on small details that made games like Battlefield 4 so great, but I honestly believe those little things are exactly what makes Battlefield as a franchise stand out from the sea of shitty online shooters out there.
>>1855587 Would be hilarious if so, although I’m not buying BF6 For 70 dollars

>>1858845 >The series never had whole team voice chat, what would 32 player voice comms even be useful for ? Stop posting retard
>>1859312 >>1859312 >your soldier is a superhuman able to do many things back to back without delay like a machine I feel this isn't very different from battlefield 3 / 4. I saw a chart showing meters per second sprinting and it hadn't changed much. I perform about the same actions as I did in battlefield 3 which used to mostly be shoot & run back to cover which feels about the same speed then there is reviving which is about the same speed unless you want to revive someone at more than 50 health. Things like putting down a spawn beacon or a tugs or a shield or a ladder take time and you have to find the right position for them to work too. The TTK seems to feel similar to bf3 and it seems comparable based on information I just looked up. >>1859312 >I honestly believe those little things are exactly what makes Battlefield as a franchise stand out Maybe one of the things you mean is the waiting time after firing an rpg? things like that just got in the way for me even back then and kind of ruined my I don't know, immersion? Bad company 2 was widely regarded as the best one for awhile and fondly looked back on but if you try to play it on pc you'll see it(BF) was already console-ized back then. It just feels all wrong on PC. I feel like bf6 is just the best iteration of improving on those game-feel elements. I guess we disagree here. I like the arcadey feel. Maybe if it was made even more arcadey I wouldn't like it but it feels so similar to 3/4 that I am already used to it. I don't feel much difference. I notice a little that the map ladders are less sticky and things like that but I like that. You still climb them at the same speed as before iirc. Pretty sure battlefield 2 had team voice chat but that was before my time. Even if previous games didn't have it, why shouldn't this one have it? It would be trivial to add and disable or make not default
>>1861484 >Bad company 2 was widely regarded as the best one for awhile and fondly looked back on but if you try to play it on pc you'll see it(BF) was already console-ized back then. It just feels all wrong on PC. Bad Company 2 was the first wave of casualization of the franchise. It's was most people's first Battlefield game back then, to the point where a lot of people seemed to act like it was the first Battlefield game ever. Though, at this point in time, it seems a lot of people hadn't even played Battlefield 3 or 4, and act like every game in between those and 6 never existed. Not sure what the fuck causes that when there's a number on the title of these games. >Maybe if it was made even more arcadey I wouldn't like it but it feels so similar to 3/4 that I am already used to it. To someone who player the Refractor era games, they are. It doesn't matter what gimmicks this game had compared to BF3, they're all Call of Duty-ified compared to what they used to be. >Pretty sure battlefield 2 had team voice chat Back when in-game VOIP worked, and devs made a fucking effort making sure it worked so we didn't need to rely on 3rd party shit like Discuck, players could voice chat with their squad, and squad leaders could chat with the Commander.
>>1866655 >Not sure what the fuck causes that when there's a number on the title of these games. People just play the latest game when it's in vogue and the majority of people are just retarded, it's not surprising at all. What surprises me is so many anons here having their first BF as 3 and not 2, at the very least? I can't really be that old at 28. I think the very first wave of casualization came through the very first battlefield for consoles, which was BF2: Modern Combat for the PS2, but I think it didn't catch on because playing online on a PS2 was still rather rare. It was only during the 360/PS3 era where people started actually, genuinely, playing console stuff online, and where they started to polish the game up to be more "console-friendly". Other than fightan games anyway, that is.
>>1866683 >Spoiler Try 30. Not much of a difference, but it's like some faggots here are still teenagers. >BF2: Modern Combat for the PS2, but I think it didn't catch on because playing online on a PS2 was still rather rare It was also on the 360, but it didn't catch on there either, hence why Bad Company 2 is where the casualization really hit off.
>>1636404 It's because they're faggots anon, pissy, sniffy haughty noodle armed faggots who think they're better than everyone else while sucking nigger dick and stinking of garlic and cheese.
>>1866683 I'm 28 too. I got into online PC gaming a little late because I didn't get internet until 2010.

>tfw we'll never have another game with the brutally grim storylines of WaW/BO
>>1878901 >tfw we'll never have another game with the brutally grim storylines of WaW/BO nazis being le bad is profound now?
>>1878901 >BO >Grim Black Ops is a fucking cartoon >>1879221 WaW is one of the few WW2 games that actually humanizes them.
>>1636212 they're cutting back on the woke shit to remoralize white men so they can join the army and die for Israel.

>>1880566 As long as the enemy front line has women too, you can shoot them repeatedly in the stomach so the death is slow and painful. Maybe Activision believes that's empowering or something.

I miss the days of MW 2019 being the hot topic Now its just been down hill after it (For Zombies it was CW) Now i get to see ugly nigger rappers and washed out comedians being shoved into a nonsensical dog heap of gaming shit I'm still playing it but its getting quieter and quieter every passing week. We really did have it good.
>>1880566 They should just put them in japanese high school uniforms, problem solved.

>>1882332 >I want to see cute things be murdered in brutal fashion No, certainly not in the context of a modern war.
>>1882675 You know what? Good point I'll just continue to enjoy pinup pictures, but surely someone will figure out how to make anime schoolgirls bulletproof at some point
>>1882021 Infinity Ward haven't made a good game since the original MW2. MW2019 and Infinite Warfare both had awful gunplay and all the new multiplayer maps were made by clueless retards.
>>1882675 That's a really cool animation, where's it from? I want to watch more please.
>>1881716 >Maybe Activision believes that's empowering or something. Well, yeah. Being able to shoot women empowers women, just like letting men claiming to be women play in women's sports empowers women.

>>1882701 I think the best way for this would be for them to be fighting monsters and for them to be androids that at most get critically injured add some character development and some mental breakdowns and you have some cute edgy girls with guns show. Frontline women in any authentic piece of media is a fucking joke though. >>1882834 >MW2 good Not really, it started the trend of 6 hour long campaigns with little to no attention to detail. Fucking Russians Paras using FALs and P90s, lol. >>1883163 The title is right there nerd
>>1883602 >fucking Russian paras using FALs and P90s, lol Considering it was mostly AK-47s before, I'll take gun variety over authenticity.
(23.89 KB 637x128 cod7.png)

>>1636467 >>1636472 >>1636479 >>1636499 CoD7 has it too, another reason to not buy.
>>1884066 oh it also requires a Activision account, owning the game aint enough anymore >>1883602 I honestly didn't think that would be the real name of it, but apparently it was so thanks
>>1883602 >I think the best way for this would be for them to be fighting monsters and for them to be androids that at most get critically injured add some character development and some mental breakdowns and you have some cute edgy girls with guns show. So...Girls Frontline? >Not really, it started the trend of 6 hour long campaigns with little to no attention to detail. Fucking Russians Paras using FALs and P90s, lol. I thought the recent Call of Dutys have longer campaigns that drag on forever to justify them being on GayPass at launch.
>>1883750 >You're mostly fighting russians >No VALs >No Grozas >No Bizon >No Shak12 Shitty ass excuse >>1884347 No, just cute grills and some actual grit No just pandering >>1884347 >I thought the recent Call of Dutys have longer campaigns that drag on forever Fuck no, they're short as fuck, just with gimmicky padding on top.
>>1883602 I only ever cared about LAN and eventually online multiplayer in CoD so I'm going to believe that but for a military shooter with run and gunning MW2 was still good.
>>1884947 >No, just cute grills and some actual grit >No just pandering Isn't that a contradiction? >Fuck no, they're short as fuck, just with gimmicky padding on top. So 3 hours worth of story stretched out to 7 hours or more because of shit gameplay sequences and scripted bullshit? So longer campaigns that drag on longer than they should.
>>1885450 >Isn't that a contradiction No? Girls Frontline is about the T&A gacha and not muvh else. I think people would like cute grills with guns getting critically injured while reminiscing about their tragic past. >So longer campaigns that drag on longer than they should. No you see, all that padded content is optional! That totally makes it better!
>>1885279 The only good thing about MW2 was the coop SpecOps was legitimately fun, challenging and had more thought put into it than the main campaign.
>>1885617 >I think people would like cute grills with guns getting critically injured while reminiscing about their tragic past. You're still talking about GFL. I could have sworn thre was some plotline where a droid cannibalizes the parts of another and there's some Japanese bullshit about "Their spirit lives on through me"
