You know, I've thought about buying Sonic merch in the past, but I can never justify it to myself because most Sonic merch doesn't do anything besides sit around and gather dust. I own physical copies of most of the games, DVDs of a lot of the movies and shows and a couple soundtrack CDs somewhere, but I've just never been able to justify buying anything else.

I'm privileged enough to have (what I believe to be is) a complete Sonic audio CD collection - the only thing I'm missing that would complete the set is a truly official copy of the Sonic Adventure 2 'multidimensional' official soundtrack, it seems just about every single copy out there (mine included) is a known bootleg from a known bootleg producer. The data on the bootleg is indistinguishable from the official release, of course, but nevertheless... This is my 'Sonic shelf' where I keep them - I'd welcome any suggestions for how to properly display these besides an ordinary bookcase, a normal CD rack is useless when there's a mix of single CDs, double CDs, and boxed releases like the two Frontiers soundtracks (why are they different sizes??). Anyway these are a few of my favourites - the Team Sonic Racing soundtrack is signed by Jun Senoue, ACT and Takeshi Taneda! - and the Sonic R ('baaack in tiiiime') and Sonic CD Remix ('pet the sonic hedgehog') albums were my white whale for the longest time, both were 'one in a million' eBay finds.

...and these are my favourite Sonic-adjacent things from the rest of my game music collection: there's Crush 40's self-titled album, plus their similar 'Thrill of the Feel' album from when they were Sons of Angels - Double Eclipse is from Johnny G's early days - if you don't recognise The Swinging Star you shouldn't be posting here - and there's also the first-run OutRun and After Burner 20th anniversary box sets. >>29918 I like collecting music because it's so easy to rip it while glancing through the booklet: then you can listen to the music pretty much however you want, whenever you want, while keeping the physical item safe somewhere.
