My problem with these shooters is that they are suicidal, but they want to take others with themselves in their fatalist rage. They never target anyone important. Always innocent bystanders at best. But enough about the victims. I want to talk about the perpetrators now. Guns are an idiotic instrument for their negative thoughts. Guns give the idea of power. They think they can get rid of their problems or at least cause enough pain with them with the single pull of the trigger. This is an abhorrent mentality, because these people would never try to figure out a way to improve and put effort into it. They would never try to improve themselves, build muscles, figure out complex plans how to improve their lives or get rid the actual malicious forces of society... No, they just want to walk into some place and shoot someone and hope they die in the process. This way their pain ends. They think this is how the story goes. They are trapped in an absolutely materialist understanding of reality. Their pain is material, their instrument to express that pain is also a material object. They fail to notice the underlying issue. They could play GTA, CoD or any other shooter to sate their trigger happiness then work out the stress by training. They don't do that. They just stew this hatred within themselves until they get some firearm and shoot someone randomly. Is gun violence the problem? No. The problem is the fact that these people have no concept of "real violence". They don't know what it means to hurt others or get hurt. Beating others and getting a beating is an another type of skinship. You learn to notice the vulnerability of yours and others that way. But when everyone has a gun or a knife and society is overpoliced you cannot experience this. There are no natural venues for people to work down their frustration. If you have enough awareness and self control you can put the extra frustration into martial arts, working out or another physical project where you build things with your hands. You can simulate it by playing violent video games too, but that only creates illusions for the mind and doesn't help the body work off the frustration. The worst is when they merge their violent fantasies with video game fantasies and think it's the same as reality. Then they are lost in a valley of despair. People die too easily. People are weak. They have too many weak points that they barely care to defend. Once you get into magic you will notice how easy is to get rid of some people. Those who cannot handle these minor intrusive thoughts of violence of theirs won't be able to get initiated into magic in the long term. They will shut themselves out from the greater understanding of magic. Instead of a snake slowly crawling up on the tree of knowledge... they will become a snake that will bite it's own neck out of frustration. This is by design. Not sure if this is the right place to mention this but when I was still in school there were more than one indigopilled wizard teachers who made my life hell and would covertly bully me both through mundane psychology expert means (because they were expert psychologists) and also magical means. They always did it in a way where they would have plausible deniability though and I never told anyone really because I knew they would never believe me. The only person who believed me was my occultist therapist who worked at the school. But I never did understand whether she was working for me or against me. For example. And she would do this frequently where she would be really understanding of my issues and she was a master psychologist so she really made me feel good when she would understand how I felt but later on would be aloof.
