To be more serious, I don't speak for anyone but myself. I think certain specific anthro characters are hawt. It is my opinion that at least some of them, even in--especially in--media that is for ordinary people, marketed to the general public, rather than niche fetish stuff that's hidden away, are designed and drawn to be attractive. It seems obvious to me that, for example, Loona from Helluva Boss is drawn to look extremely fuckable. I don't think it's a niche show, though I could be wrong. I think Vivziepop wanted ordinary people to see Loona and think "oh, yummy." There are many other examples but I think that's one that a lot of people could probably agree on. And I do not know Viziepop, I have never met her, I don't know much of anything about her, but to me it doesn't look like she's trying to evangelize or "convert" anyone. I think "hellhound" was just too good a pun to pass up, and I think a lot of animated characters are drawn to be attractive because eye candy is good for ratings, for the same reason that actors tend to be very physically attractive people or at least the ones who got famous doing it tend to be. I think that Minerva Mink from Animaniacs was drawn to be highly visually appealing for all the same reasons. Does finding her fuckable make someone "furry," when she was deliberately drawn so that most everyone would find her fuckable? Is there a special name for people who find fictional characters attractive? What if you find real people attractive also and you aren't an exclusive 2D-fetishist?
Obviously I don't speak for HMOFA. I don't speak for anyone but me. I am not sure "HMOFA" even exists as a category beyond some discussions on another imageboard entirely. All of that is preamble to this. Ready? I think the reason some people resist the "furry" label is because they associate that word with things that make them cringe. Whether it's the emphasis on "fursonas" (what if I just want to fuck such-and-such character? what if I don't have any interest in making up an OC, or making a fursuit, or going to conventions?), or the cultural associations with the F word:

There's a reason I didn't post the image here. It is weird fetish stuff most people don't want to see or even think about. It may be unfair that people hear the word 'furry" and instantly think of scat and diaper fetishism, but that's always been the public perception. I can't blame people for saying "ay yo hol up." Or maybe it's all just motte-and-bailey games. Or maybe there's no one here but me and all the posts are just me talking to myself. I dno, lol.
I don't want to imply that I think I can do no wrong. I know the /hmofa/ threads at that other imageboard often have a poor signal-to-noise ratio, especially when the threads get spammed with dick pictures and guro, and the mods ban people for reporting the spam. I'm just one guy who finds some of these characters attractive, you know?
