>I think Evan just wanted to have some kind of "gender nonconforming" or "non-binary" character
Yeah, frankly that's obvious, but I was being facetious. Either way, Sonic shouldn't be encouraging this character's serious mental health problems. And it doesn't even make sense that the parents play along with any of these mental health problems, since the conflict in the story is that we are told they don't, yet we see them do it. Evan Stanley's virtue signalling resulted in not just bad grammar and awkward and confusing writing, but a major contradiction to what is supposed to be the central conflict of the story. As you pointed out, she cared more about encouraging this fetish than about writing well. She already sucked and was writing boring stories that didn't belong in this series, but now she's just admitting that writing good stories isn't even her main priority. She needs to be fired. Not like there aren't a million other autists on the internet that would take her job and do it better, since they actually like the series more than they like inserting fetishes and political propaganda.

You were right at first, but Stanley is mentally ill enough that she has secluded herself to the hugbox of Bluesky, so she can hear nothing but other mentally ill freaks praising her for encouraging their mental illness. So now she will try to ruin her own story even further so she can push more propaganda. Hopefully Sega just stops her from using this character again after the next issue.
