Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Anonymous 10/12/2024 (Sat) 05:53:20 Id: 79b536 No. 1026652
Sparking Zero the successor to Budokai Tenkaichi 3 has now released. Anyone playing it? I can say the game very much feels like Tenkaichi should, if you've played them before you should feel right at home with Sparking Zero. Mechanically, the game is mostly the same as it's always been, but there are a few handy new things to the combat. The skill points that let you use sub abilities and transformations now can also be used for Combo breaker/or attack deflection type moves as well. One thing i've found pretty useful is that inputting the Dragon Rush command a 2nd time can near instantly home you in close to your opponent. One of the minor things about the game that's actually impressive happens to be it's final size. it's only 29GB. So accustomed to newer games being 100 gigs or over, it's surprising when a games size is actually optimized once and a while. In other news, normal fags seem to be getting their shit kicked in by Great Ape Vegeta in the story mode, to the point Bandai Namco's twitter responded. I couldn't tell you what the big deal is with this fight is since I had zero issues with it at all. He just spams Blast moves, but I just did what i'v always done in Tenkaichi for years, Charge Ki to Max, get up close behind him and combo in the back. It works as it always has.
>putting OG DB jobbers only because reasons and to polute the roster Why Just why?

>>1026765 It's not so much that they used still frames, but that they didn't use enough of them. The story is so condensed that it's barely coherent. Like, during the Android Saga, you fight Android 19 as Goku, then after you win it cuts directly to the scene of Goku Kamehamehaing the ocean, and then it explains that after the previous battle Goku was incapacitated by a heart virus and eventually he got better. Could they seriously not show Goku collapsing before showing him recovering? (I would've also liked the game to mention that Future Trunks gave Goku a cure for the heart virus, but maybe that'd be asking too much.) >>1026773 >I like to think Kakarot was just a project for the dude at Bamco who is autistic about putting in a story mode in every single fucking DB game to get all his autism out. I would totally believe that Kakarot's retcon-sidequests ("animal people are just normal humans taking transformation pills for funsies", "Bulma ditched Yamcha because he cheated on her", etc.) were some turboautist's headcanon.
>>1026780 OG Dragonball is fun, you should watch it.

>>1026882 He's probably one of those unofficial power level chart worshiping spics who refuse to accept that power levels never mattered, and were intentionally a poor method of sensing strength and skill from the start.
>>1026892 Subhumans just hate anything that isn't the strongest. It's similar to Yugioh where despite everyone hating the fact the game's devolved into a negate-fest, any deck made that isn't one of those or otherwise meta is considered garbage and hated for not having negates (since deep down they want more unhealthy cards, fucking Konami whales).
>>1026652 Bought it but haven't played it yet.
>>1026652 To any Tenkaichifags, is it worth it? $70 is a lot of money for an anime fighter and I would consider getting it if it was a worthy successor to the Tenkaichi games. How's the combat? How's the single player offerings?

>>1026892 Why do you let spics live rent free in your head? >>1026914 That's just competitive metafaggotry. X is the new thing and overpowered so the new decks sell, then the next overpowered thing is pushed out. If something is gimicky and old, chances are it gets banned.

>>1026652 I heard Sparking Zero is shit on PC and it is unoptimized?
>>1027353 Runs fine for me. Bit heavy on GPU speed though. Max settings and it caps out at around 4~ gigs of VRAM, which is pretty good. Stuttering on menu screens, not really a big deal since it isn't gameplay, but is a bit strange. Max 60 fps and no ultrawide support. I don't care about above 60 and I don't have ultrawide screens. Frankly, I'm glad it has okay performance and isn't capped to 30 fps. Oh, and steam input is fully supported, which is nice for when you have alternate (non xbawks/piss station) controllers.
>>1027019 The game is certainly good, it's the same old Tenkaichi gameplay with a few additional mechanics to round things out a bit more. If you want a newer Shinier Tenkaichi that's what it is. The Story mode is there are 8 characters to choose for their stories, and there is a lot of what if scenarios you can branch the path off into, based on you meeting a alt objective in a fight. It does it's job well. Only criticism I'd have is that it lacks some of the game modes that previous entries had, Tenchichi 2's Ultimate Battle Z or it's Leveling up system that added a ton of replayability, or 3 has Sim Dragon Mission 100 and Survival. Maybe they're banking on the custom battle scenarios as filling that gap. If they support this game as much as they have Kakarot or Xenoverse 2 then it could get even better in the future with additional content. I wouldn't blame you if you feel like waiting for a bit, but I don't regret getting the game myself.
I have never played any of the other DB games, only a bit of FighterZ but as far as I know this is a completely different kind of game, is it fun? I'm thinking of pirating it and I might just buy it if I like it enough.
>>1028706 Yeah. If you've ever played DBZ BT3 it's worth a pirate. Also only 27 gigabytes, which by today's standards is on the smaller end. Not sure the price is completely worth it though. 100 bucks if you just want the future content + game or around 75-80 if you just want the game. That's a lot to ask.
>>1028782 Today's standards of games on the bigger end mean you store fewer to choose from, so if you play a game, chances are better that you'll play the bloated game. Today's standards make sense to greedy executives.
>>1026892 >Power level chart worshipping spics I thought niggers were more the powerlevel fags, spics just jack off over anything with Gohan.
I just saw someone playing a custom battle that allowed you to play as Chi-Chi, 100% vanilla. How is that possible?
>>1029052 Retards worship brute force, niggers are just retarded more.
>>1026853 >"Bulma ditched Yamcha because he cheated on her" This is mentioned in the manga. It's just an excuse that always sounded like bullshit, given that Yamcha was a total autist that wanted to wish to not be autistic so he could talk to girls, while Bulma was a total slut that showed her pussy to everyone to get what she wanted, and was so hollowed out that she fit an enormous diamond in her cunt (seemingly effortlessly) so she could sneak it out of the Pirate Cave (which she tried to escape by betraying her friends and fucking General Blue to get on his side, only to find out he is gay, and also a pedo in the anime). Yeah, Yamcha became more of a cool guy over time, and a professional athlete in the anime, but Bulma is clearly the one that would be cheating the entire time.
>>1029111 Dataminers found an unfinished playable character Chi-Chi, and set it as the character for Custom Battles and uploaded it. The Custom Battle will let you play as the character, but that would be the only way to access the character with an unmodded game.
>>1029446 >only to find out he is gay, and also a pedo in the anime Toriyama really did just make Ernst Rohm a villain in Dragon Ball.
>>1029446 It's Toriyama, it'll be a case of your version of events being canon but the publishers finger wagging at Toriyama for not being politically correct, you should see his anti-feminist comics from the 80s
>>1029742 You could gather his personal opinion on women from Dr. Slump.
>>1029756 >>1029742 And he still got married and had kids. What's your excuse anon?
>>1029778 Being born in a terrible age and country?
>>1029742 It seems like every Jap artist in the 80's made fun of Miyazaki for being a "feminist", supposedly even the villain of Z Gundam was supposed to be Tomino's dig at him for saying Gundam was just a "dumb robot war show", so he made a character that pretends to be a champion of women but mostly just manipulates them, and then named the character Scirocco as a play on Studio Ghibli.
>>1029803 That's everyones excuse
I didn't have "dragon ball video game that sounds like a soda" on my bingo card.
>>1026882 I watched it when i was a kid, didn't like it, but i liked particularly the Mr Robot filler with Kid Gohan, the License test of Goku, the training arc of Kid Gohan with a recently killed goku, the dragon road in that same arc, and the fillers with Teen Gohan in Z, so... Who knows, maybe brand recognition or something. >>1026892 >WAAAAAAHH LE SPICS LE SPICS HELP ME GOVERMENT Fuck off, i watched it when i was a kid and bored me, and Right now i don't have the mental energy nor motivation to sit and watch it. >>1027019 Any game over the 60$ barrier isn't worth it no matter how good it is, but if you can get it cheaper... Yeah, it is worth it >>1029803 Nigga just move to Another country at the south of the Frontier, and only because yoy are mutt (if that's the case), you'll unironically get bitches everywhere: Whites, Negresses, Browns, whatever the skin color You can imagine, and only because You are "Gringo". Just apply for a remote job while in the States, save some money, and after all of that, go to a Suburban bubble area in the south, where only gringos like you live, that's the meta Right now for your people
Playing it right now. 5 hours in This is probably the most fun I have had in years.
>>1029951 >leave the country to find a woman Wew.
>>1026652 This is my favorite DBZ game since playing RB2 with my buddies. Only critiques is that Ive had a lot of incidents of input lag while playing online and the story modes for the DBS sagas feel pretty lackluster in comparison to the Z sagas (but DBS also has a lot of writing issues in comparison to DBZ, so it could be just that). Once BEASThan is added Im planning on being the first to upload Dragon Ball X custom battles >>1029459 Close, but not quite. You can do this with technically any character in the game who has an existing model. I played one with Zeno, Kami, a blue Great Ape, King Kai, and the Grand Minister all with Goku's movesets. >>1032250 Yeah this is a contender for my personal GOTY so far
Ningen moment
