You ever had a second playthrough change your opinion on a game? I just did. I realized 2 days ago I had never done a retard run of fallout 1, so I did. Fallout 1 is still an amazing game but all my other playthroughs had a tough beginning but easier endgame. This retard with a knife though was easily cutting through rad scorpions and raiders like it was nothing. It wasn't until later when I tried to fight supermutants that the problems started. Even then the knife wasn't really the problem, it was more about me getting 1 shot by gatling guns. It did make me wonder about a lot of things. I do not think it is possible to beat the game 1st time as a retard. I have no idea how you would know without meta knowledge that the cathedral is where the master lives. It was also this playthrough that I found out that drugs can stack. You can take multiple mentats and just be a normal person until the drugs wear out. That does kinda go against the spirit of the playthrough but it did allow me to speak to Harold properly. You can also just take 2 rad-x and be immune to radiation. Would have been great to know before I lost an hour of progress to instant death radiation. I am also amazed by how much dialogue they wrote for the low intelligence players. Some of it I assume was intended for players who were using drugs and got their intelligence lowered. Even then though I was seeing unique dialogue even up to the final boss. I was expecting a bit more of a speech from a man who just lost everything to a fucking idiot with a sledge and a rocket launcher but having anything is already good. Now I am just wondering if I want to replay 1 again or should I try playing 2? I have tried 2 before and it never grips me like the first game does.
>>1545361 It was to be expected considering how long Bethesda takes to release a game (likely misapropriating development/marketing money and laundering it from other shady businesses/investors in the meanwhile). They probably made 10 times more money from Bethesda redditors when comparing it to how much money they wasted it by contracting a SEAmonkey company to make and market it.
>>1545361 Place your bets: >Bethesda will ignore New Vegas out of spite >Bethesda will intentionally fuck up the New Vegas remaster out of spite >New Vegas gets remastered properly by someone else and Bethesda gets incredibly salty when everyone likes New Vegas more than FO3 (again)
>>1547101 They'll either package both games in one or just completely ignore New Vegas.
>>1547101 >>1547179 Doesn't the show retcon/undo a lot of New Vegas? I remember hearing the NCR is straight up destroyed, somehow.
>>1547184 Yes and yes
>>1547184 Shady Sands got nuked and that somehow cause the NCR to collapse, and New Vegas itself might also be destroyed, not that they didn't character assassinate Mr. House to begin with.
>>1547184 Yeah. In the game it's heavily implied that Mr. House is a cartoon no different from yesman (just better drawn). The show also borrows ghoul lore from Nuka Break (some machinima show I think) rather than following the enviremental story telling in Fallout New Vegas that tells a story at hotel hell that ghouls are manufactured with FEV (Very similar to fallout 4 synths) as war machines made to eat the flesh of the many fallen who fall in the waste. A lot like super mutants, but with incentive as when a super mutant goes hungry he can eat bugs whereas it's implied that for a ghoul to keep some level of civilization in his demeanor the ghoul must eat humanoid limbs to sustain humanity. In the show they just rip from nuka breaker and essentially make jet the cure all for ghouls who we are meant to pity because ghoulism is considered a mental illness rather than a curse not much different from the curse of the mummy.
The show totally neglects any slight idea of God like beings toying with the simulated earth that is Fallout. No curses. No magic. No concept of bad juju. Just dude science we are the bad man technology bad. The games have heavily implied there's dark forces that things like ghouls serve as lords when they've lost their ability to function as individuals.
>>1068731 >pic What mod is this?
>>1551101 >>1551119 Anon, I think your forgot to take your meds...

That Zenimax MMO was reportedly cancelled for Fallout 5 to be greenlit. In other news, Fallout 5 was only now greenlit. Enjoy playing it in 2032, I guess! https://archive.ph/tRt7i
>>1564916 >Implying Microsoft won't shut down Zenimax before that lol
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2517243537 Do you guys like fallout gameplay?
>>1585846 Was that supposed to be your stream? >0 views You might get 1 or 2 people watching your stream, if you announce it on the stream thread >>1081753 a few hours in advance, BUT you would have to stream on 8chan.tv
>>1585846 >>1585877 Seconding this, you should do a cross-stream to 8chan.tv if you don't wanna fully switch over. OBS has plugins for that, easy to set up
Do you like Fallout? Do you like Doom? Well, after 2+ years hopefully it will have been worth the wait.
>>1586158 huh. Do you have a DL link or are you just gonna faff about? Also does it have Fallout-esque RPG conclusions to quests, quests as well & the leveling mechanics for stuff?

>>1586158 Oh fuck, is it finally coming out? I made the original post for that here back when the first trailer dropped. This has been my most anticipated Fallout fangame ever, more than Sonora. Credit to Bethesda, they don' lawcuck fan projects like certain other devs. As much as I find Starfield poorly thought out and modern Fallout underwhelming, I have to praise them for encouraging such a vibrant fanwork scene.
>>1586537 >praise <for encouraging such a vibrant fanwork scene surplus of unpaid labour unfucking your shit and keeping it alive ftfy
>>1586439 >>1586537 Not out yet, give it a year or so also, watch the video to the end
>>1586786 "Oof", as the kids say
>>1589652 Release date within 4.5 years? That's bold.
>>1551124 Its not a mod. Its Fallout tactics. Its pretty good. Didn't finish it though.

I've been enjoying replaying F:NV but the lack of Legion in-game is quite conspicuous. No companion who actually sides with the legion – I think Ulysses was supposed fill this role, – no Legion civilians, barely any quests. Hell even their legionnaires seem to have less voice-lines in comparison to NCR soldiers. Had Obsidian more time, I hope they'd expand the map eastwards into Legion territory, if safety is what the Legion can do best at least show it in-game.
>>1619060 Fitting. The Legion are pathetic and unlikeable fascist bandits. The only reason you side with them is to get crates of their coins and you're otherwise bored of House and NCR.
>>1619683 Subtle bait
Would this kind of thing, but made from metal and decaying rubber instead of wood, make good Fallout robots? >>1412222 That and having big guns require a separate skill on top of high strength makes high strength much less valuable.
>>1619060 >No companion who actually sides with the legion Raoul repeatedly says the Legion aren't so bad, and he doesn't mind if they win. However, he isn't as pro-Legion as someone like Boone is pro-NCR. Similarly, Cass has some good things to say about the Legion as a merchant, but as a woman, she obviously doesn't like them. You're right that the original Ulysses was meant to be an explicitly pro-Legion companion.

>>1620272 Considering the 50s retro futuristic aesthetic, it would. Kind of a puppet theater thing.

>>1620368 Both their appreciation stems from how the Legion made their territories safe from bandits and raiders. But I wouldn't say either supports them outright, you can still slaughter The Fort and Caesar without them so much as making a complaint. I don't know if Ulysses would have worked as a Legion follower. It's his dialogue the issue, how many players would have had the patience to sit through line after line of apologetics? Guess it all depends on how much the other writers would have reigned in Avellone. Still as a former tribal and high-ranking member of the Legion, his point-of-view would have been unique. Coincidentally, him and Boone would have both been the most socially elevated companions you could have gotten. Not as elevated as a potential Victor though :^) The one thing I don't get about them is the bull. Shouldn't it have two heads like Brahmin do? Are there un-radiated, normal Bos Taurus in southeast America. Maybe some billionaire Texan built a vault just for his longhorn herd. >>1620272 Considering Fallout 4's synths sure, emphasise their marionette-like movements and they'd fit even better. But considering a retrofuturistic aesthetic I think they'd be too out-of-place. Too human for the Fallout Universe. I think your idea might work if you made their heads less human.
>>1620390 Ulysses in Lonesome Road and Ulysses in the initial draft were almost completely different characters. That's why I included "original". >the bull It's iconography from Caesar. If there were two heads on the bull, it would mean the Legion isn't unified. Also, I doubt there are two-headed bulls in the wasteland. Two-headed cows have some usefulness, but two-headed bulls would try to rip themselves in half. Just think about how their horns would work.
