I wish the leaf making this makes the 1.5 update worthwhile, the game tapers out once you reach the ground floor and runs dry with the basement really quickly, which isn't as novel as the floors above it to compensate. Though a hard mode would be fix a lot of this, as it would be harder to blitz through later content when the late game poses an actual threat.Leigh is fucking busted and giving her the right weapon is basically an auto-win for even boss fights, same with Dan when he stacks a higher viewer count and his basic skills start doing 300 damage per hit multiple times.

I finished this game today, without looking anything up. Managed to get the Flawed Ritual ending. Was it because I didn't give Jasper the Guinea Pig? Or was I supposed to give him the wrong painting and a blank VHS tape? Those are the only things I can think of to do differently since it seems like I cleared the whole map by the time I finished. I don't want to look it up directly because I might replay this game at some point. Also I'm curious about the moth. Was I supposed to revive him somehow or are his remains like some kind of joke about not letting go? I really wanted him to be a real companion Oh and I feel like I missed something with the unlabeled game cartridge. It really seemed like it might be a main quest item but putting it in the Vintage Game Console wasn't an option and nothing else came up.

I'm curious, is this a game where you could actually figure out a "good ending" (if there is such a thing) without guides/trial and error? I've been burned on a lot of games on that before.

There's a 2.0 update that was released recently with new stuff added (including a new game mode), along with a brief sale on Steam. I've been seeing a lot of videos and streams since it's Halloween month. I often hear that it's similar to Earthbound and Undertale, but I don't know if that's a fair comparison.

Reached the promise and unity endings on cursed mode. I really like the new content of the update and the change in difficulty really helps the tension last until the absolute end-game, but in a lot of ways it feels less complete than the actual release. In parts because there's a polish lacking in certain parts like the crossword witch being farmable and how the Promise/Unity endings feel rather sparse in it's artworks, but also because a lot of the new content is buggy(several overworld sprites don't match the enemies they're tied to) or has certain flourishes applied unevenly. I'll wait until the tooth family continuation is implemented properly to do a replay, I think I missed a lot in trying to get to use Papineu and Ernest early and Papineu was a lifesaver with all the weapons breaking constantly.
