>>1291496 Basically what demake does is simplify a few things and turns it into a standard MMX game. There are no metals so no you don't grind for upgrades and since it's X only, upgrades got reduced to the usual life ups, subtanks and armor parts. Gimmick stages like yeti and man-o-war were reworked to be actual stages with bike sections sprinkled over them. Another example is Jakob elevator, now it's a fully fledged stage where in certain segments you take different elevators unlike the original that was just a single screen enemy rush. It trims out playable characters and changes stages layouts though so it's not the definitive version of X8 or anything, but it's serviceable enough as a reimagined megaman X fangame.

It is pretty bad. Full of tanky enemies and lolmegaman stage design (the spike ceiling in Doppler Stage 1 is particularly bad). A disappointing followup to X2 while the real team was working on X4.

Do you guys think it's weird to prefer the original versions of the Mega Man games, if only because they work the best with romhacks? The X Legacy Collection just doesn't have any way to play any of the hacks, like X4-5-6's improvement hacks, or the Zero Project for X3.
