ITT: Games/Series you do not care about. Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 22:09:50 Id: 382d37 No. 1137955
I do not care about Minecraft nor cannot figure out how it manage to get a movie. I do not get its massive popularity. I don't understand how Steve is in Smash. I thought it was some small indie game long time ago.
>>1166663 This along with Mega Man
>>1137977 This. I pirated Elden Ring, got to (and beat) Godrick and just uninstalled it. I do not understand how people enjoy beating their head against a wall for 30 hours but I figured my time was better spent elsewhere. Also I just hate the dodge rolling giving you I-Frames thing. It looks so silly to tumble through a you-sized club swing. Doing a cool quick step and disappearing into smoke is fine, parrying or deflecting the attack, sure. But just tumbling and phasing through attacks because of I-frames just ruins the atmosphere of a beautiful game.

Mother 3 stands top in my list of "worst games I've ever played that just so happen to be the direct sequel of my most favorite games of all." The story is all over the place in terms of tone and setup, the game progression is annoying and sluggish, the battle system is stressful and unforgiving, the music is kind of just there, sound design is extremely subpar compared to its predecesor... and the ending is a literal fade to black as if they actually gave up on the thing immediately after the very underwhelming climax. People call this a "life changing masterpiece" on a regular, but this game was mind numbing to me on the first playthrough and absolutely infuriating on the second (ragedropped it mid chapter 2). I genuinely don't get it one bit, even though I'm the same bitch that straight up wept like a baby over games like Yoshi's Island, Live A Live '22, Earthbound and FUCKING MOTHER ENCORE DEMO. And Mother 3? I literally forced myself to cry and straight up couldn't. The most emotion I felt the first time was a pressuring sense of misery after seeing the many Earthbound throwbacks because "this is just not the same experience." The only good thing about Mother 3 is Nana and I'm only saying that because I'm a schizo for blonde women.
>>1152724 I've been playing since 2008 and just never stopped. It's pretty much the only comfy community-driven social game from that era which isn't completely dead. Of course most of the popular games on there are absolute slop, but occasionally you find a gem.
>>1137977 This, and I'll even go a step further and say that people who play "hard" games in general are just retards who enjoy wasting their time. It's artificial difficulty, The bosses having shitloads of HP & being able to 1 shot you if you fuck up even once literally only serves to pad the game out.

>>1253785 Cant speak for Binding of Isaac or Shovel Knight, and I'm not going to pretend to change your mind, but I can speak for Hollow Knight and say it's a solid, fun metroidvania experience for all it's wort. The combat and bosses are tight and have a nice balance of challenge and leeway that allows/compels you to experiment. Exploration is pretty freeway with the right amount of limitations, so you always have somewhere you can go and very rarely can get lost*. Story can be obtuse at first glance, but connecting the dots and unwrap the secrets of Hallownest is an interesting exercise in and of itself. And needless to say the soundtrack is absolutely godlike with a wonderful, emotive instrumentation from start to finish. If character artstyle isn't your thing, the scenery could be, it has some really nice landscapes and environment, also helped by the music. I say this as someone who 100% it (112%? Can't remember) and also beat the hardest challenge it offers (Pantheon 5); I genuinely love the game so I highly recommend it. ...also that Knight funko is appalling... then again all funkos are appalling.
I feel like Monster Hunter should be up my alley as a series but I've never really been able to get into it that much
>>1297423 I didn't know cope of this level was even possible. Embarrassing post
>>1220635 I feel this way over Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask specifically. I like the Zelda series, ALTTP and ALBW are my absolute favorites... but I genuinely don't understand what is the fuzz about MM and OOT. They weren't really fun to me, quite the opposite, those two are the very few retro games I think it didn't age well at all... and I love retro games with a burning passion dated whatever is a non-issue 98% of the time.
Any kind of sandbox game. I just cannot get into them. I dislike the idea of having to "make my own fun" in a video game. If I wanted to do that, I could just do something creative and/or productive instead. If I pay for a game, I want to have a curated entertainment experience.
>>1297570 Very cool and constructive reply
>>1297763 Brother you play Roblox and posted about how you think it's impossible for people to enjoy difficult games because you're shit at video games for adults. I don't know what to tell you.
>>1297839 >git gud And there it is, lmao. soulsfags literally cannot help themselves.
For me it's 99% of JRPGs. >dumb story and dialogues >gameplay basic af >also interrupted by cutscenes every 10 seconds >stats bs
>>1137955 Breath of the wild and Tears of the Kingdom Hollow Knight Halo Counter Strike Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Roblox Smash Bros. Balatro Diablo and diablo clones Borderlands Ultrakill
>All these people saying they don't want to play hollow knight and nu zelda. >Nobody throwing shit over it. I'm never going back to cuckchan.
Persona after 2 duology. If i wanted to play a dating sim with 90% shitty dialogue and 10% piss easy combat then i'd play an actual visual novel. Also hate how the newer games' themes are simplified for literal children to get behind. It always boils down to "Grown-ups are bad! High school rocks!". In EP your party consisted of adults with careers. Sure, IS did this too to an extend with the GRAND DAD final boss but your characters had to deal with actual mental trauma to confront them. Not in 5 though, and most definitely not gonna in 6.
>>1137955 Minecraft is just not my thing, besides griefing videos CS in general I kinda left as a good memory from my childhood playing LAN with a few people I don't care to play online in general because I don't wanna suffer retards if they're not within punching distance and I don't see why anyone would willingly subject himself to the playerbase. MOBA anything, never even crossed my mind to play them, much for the same reason as the above, don't wanna suffer retards if I can't punch them in the face and don't see why anyone else would. Soulslike not because I think they're bad but they're so overblown I don't think I can play them without that tainting my perception of them so I'm just gonna wait for a while before touching that. Hollow Knight, it's not that I think it's bad, but it's nowhere near what people make it out to be, even basic clones of it get things way more "right" than it on a gameplay level, main issue I have with it is it being a 15-30hr game diluted down to being 50-100hr. GTA5, it actually hit me just how little I care about the game itself when some guy said he was going to get the PS5 version of 6 because he couldn't wait for the PC version and not get spoiled, I don't remember shit about the GTA5 story and it's not like I've avoided it. Gacha anything, for obvious reasons, you're basically turning a game into a job but get nothing out of it, even worse some are retarded enough to pay for what is basically work.
Fortnite I think it's the game equivalent of jingling keys in front of a baby.
>>1137955 For me it's porn games mostly because a lot of them either don't have gameplay or if they do, it's janky as fuck. Generally not worth persevering for the lewd content ever.
>>1340028 I wish I could give you a counter example so bad.
>>1340050 Rance games
>>1138199 good take
>>1297423 Souls games aren't hard though.
>>1340121 They used to be hard because every other game at the time of its release was brain numbingly easy. Nowadays though we have games that are 10 times harder than Elden Ring. They are unfair, yes, some bosses just don't stop spinning because they are now designed with co-op in mind. But if anyone still finds souls games hard they should unironically git gud.

Society used to mock you contrarian little shits. What the fuck happened?
>>1340705 Contrarians are the head of societies now, and enjoying things wholeheartedly is considered cringe.
>>1340754 I hate this so much, have actually lost friends because they considered liking things as cringe. They didn't like anything, it was all disinterested shallow irony all the time. Fuckers genuinely thought they were cool because of it too, like they were too good to like stuff and were above it. One of them later became a literal cuck and the other got addicted to drugs. It's ok to hate some stuff and have strong preferences, but have balance.
>>1340801 >They didn't like anything, it was all disinterested shallow irony all the time. Fuckers genuinely thought they were cool because of it too, like they were too good to like stuff and were above it Never have I ever read a sentence perfectly describing cuckchan even more than this. >One of them later became a literal cuck and the other got addicted to drugs. Somehow not suprising. People like these are usually empty and listless, making them vulnerable to degeneracy.

>>1221918 >either like the atmosphere (desolate dungeon crawling through the crumbling remains of once great civilizations) or build autism I was actually going to respond to >>1137977 with exactly that on my part. The challenge part is just the speedbumps that make you linger on the atmosphere and facilitate making builds. >People pretend to like the pvp I'm not much of a PVP player so I can't speak personally but from what I can tell there ARE people who really, really love the PVP. Most that do I've found want to force that aspect into being "the real game" and to try and turn it into a sort of fighting game. In fact I've heard some PVPers compare to or outright describe it as a fighting game. From a PVEer's perspective most tend to ignore the PVE (or hate because of invaders) or they like the original concept of the whole PVP/Co-op/SP-PVE system as it was designed back in Demon's Souls and dislike it more and more the further they stray in each successive game. >or pve but nobody actually does Kind of depends ho how you mean that. The game's basically a simple hack and slash. I don't think much at all about the individual enemy combat, either one way or the other. It's the placement and the density of enemies that makes it a challenge to be overcome. That's what I like, when it's done well. >>1208498 >Hence due to this mentality, any nerf is seen as a GOOD thing even if said nerf ruins the game into an unfun nearly unplayable state. Any buff on the other hand is seen as BAD because "how dare more players have access to my exclusive higher difficulties?" or "how dare people have fun in my serious sufferslop PvE game?" I think a title like GTFO is the perfect example of what happens when you remove ALL of the fun out of a video game through nerfs and enemy additions/changes for some abstraction of "balance" and the result is that you get less than 2k co-current players on a 4-man PvE extraction shooter, and that's on a good day. I actually agree with a good part of this. Both From and Tecmo both have had a problem with "balancing the fun out of stuff" to try to deal with "cheese". Which is impossible to do because there's always a new meta to be found where as fun CAN be lost from a game. >"didn't beat the game autism" I just ignore that. I don't care if other players think I beat the game "wrong". I do care when the developers think that because that'll lead them to removing something fun because of "balance". Like if they're that worried about balance then maybe don't add 400 weapons to your game. If you're worried about players coming up with a cheesy build them don't include so many build possibilities to start with.

The entire Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. I tried multiple times to get into it, but it just doesn't click for me. I can see why people who enjoy speedrunning might get into it, but beyond that, I just found all of the games to be boring, whether that be the newer 3D titles, or the older 2D sidescrollers. The Final Fantasy franchise. I never saw anything particularly alluring, interesting, or even attention grabbing about this series at all. It all just seemed so bland and generic to me. The ONLY thing I can remember grabbing my attention even slightly about the series was the sheer size of Cloud and Sephiroth's swords, and the fact that everybody else seemed to enjoy it. Counter Strike Hoooooly shit. I'm gonna rant a bit on this one. Hands down the absolute WORST gun mechanics of any shooter I have ever played. Never have I anywhere else seen a shooter that requires you to come to a dead stop if you want your shots to go anywhere fucking near the crosshair. I'd say it's more like a rail shooter than a regular shooter, but at least proper rail shooters don't give you the illusion of maybe, just maybe, being able to move and shoot at the same time like you can do with literally every other shooter ever made with zero issues. It feels like an early version of the modern Call of Duty entries - Every weapon does a fucktillion damage so basically everything kills you instantly, aside from a handful of weapons that do jack shit. At least Call of Duty has regenerating health. With counter strike? "Oh, you're at less than 10 health? Guess you're fucked lmao. Healthpacks? Get fucked, nerd." And yes, I am saying, unironically, that even the newer Call of Duty games are better than any given Counter Strike entry. It boggles my fucking mind that anyone can find this shit acceptable, let alone enjoyable. The fact that these dogshit games are considered an e-sport and regularly have massive tournaments on the scale that they do, is a sign that there is something seriously fucking wrong with not just the industry, but the consumer as well.
>>1340838 Empty and listless sums it up well, that's the exact life they led from how things sounded.
>>1139423 There's a difference between not caring about something and forgetting its existence. The pretense that an offhand negative comment implies some unhealthy attachment is a recent invention, mostly by people who use post-irony as a psychological defensive mechanism.
>>1137955 Granblue Fantasy and Guilty Gear Series. I know Bridgette is controversial for the change thanks to Strive and the Anime completely fucking the lore up. But honestly Granblue Fantasy is as generic Medieval Fantasy as it can get to me, and Guilty Gear while it looks cool has no real gameplay to it.
Dark Souls and Pokemon. Not even sure why, I love hack-and-slashes/metroidvanias/traditional turn based RPGs. Those series just do not appeal to me. >>1220635 To be honest if you beat one of them you beat 90% of the same idea. Everything after ALTTP and before BOTW are nearly identical with one or two gimmicks. I'm still a massive sucker for ALTTP, LoZ2, and OoT but I can see why people dislike playing the franchise. >>1222701 Can't wait for the BD remake, loved the original. Screw BS and FUCK BD2 though. Bravely Sword never.
