I argue the Mines of Khuras is the worst dungeon in the entire series. It's of course fucking enormous, but most early TES dungeons are. What are the strangest series retcons you know of? In the original games, Dagoth-Ur was the name of the Red Mountain. In TES3 they turned it into a person and created House Dagoth around it. The volcano is still sometimes called Dagoth-Ur, but it puzzles me why Kirkbride decided to do any of that.

OpenTESArena has hit 0.16.0. It's now vaguely playable! The music a little borked if you can't tell. Not as many updates this time, but actual gameplay is a huge step forward. So, I actually gave that Not The Elder Scrolls game by a Polish studio a 2nd chance. I actually had dropped it once getting to the first hub city as the writing took a nosedive with some characters who were getting too quirky and reddit "funny" for my taste. I'm glad I did, because characters like those start getting rarer and the game continues to be proper dark and griddy. Despite plenty of jank, there is no level scaling cancer and the combat is varied and enjoyable.

Decided I'd finally do a clean install directory with OpenMW rather than the dirty directory I've been using for a decade. Seems good for making pure mage more viable.) Any recomendations? I actually find MW's combat actually decent once you figure out everything, but overly opaque and poorly balanced, so I'm not looking to totally change everything, but welcome tweaks.
