Playing videogames in public Anonymous 08/04/2025 (Mon) 17:48:22 Id: d4fc58 No. 1630644
>"Waaaah! People will make fun of me if I play video games in public!" Why are 4chan schizos like that? Playing video games in public has been a thing since the creation of video games with the arcades games and later with the handheld lcd games like the Game&Watch ones and then with portable consoles like Game Boy. Besides with lots of obnoxious, annoying people in public like niggers, illegals, gypsies, loud Karen, normies who talk loudly at their phones etc, nobody will give a shit about a person who plays games quietly in a corner with his phone or portable console.

>playing on a phone You look like any other smartphone zombie on the street, nobody will notice. But for gachaniggers like faggot OP, the day of the rope will come. >playing on a portable console Is like wearing clown makeup. It looks weird, it might get you some looks, but it's ultimately not that notable.

>>1654362 >Playing "uwuuuuuu japanese high school dating sim kawaii desu uguuuuuuuu" is cringe faggot shit and you should be laughed at.
You're far more likely going to be judged for having zero fashion sense, bad odor / being drenched in sweat, no proper shaving, weird hunchback posture, etc. than over playing the bing bing wahoo machine. Bonus points if you crank up the volume too.
>>1658851 I do this.
>>1662609 As do I.

>>1658851 And let fear+intimidation win? Sorry, I don't believe in that. The world WILL watch as a sweaty manchild enjoys a lolipanty simulator with the volume at max.
Covert gachanigger thread.

>Bought a controller for my phone >end up realizing >>1631418 more or less fits me to a T Can't focus on the fucking game I'm playing because ifs not the sunlight glaring the screen then its the possibility of a random person appearing and doing something that snaps me back into reality.
>>1663366 You can always use in the bed
My friend made fun of me for using my steam deck in public, so next time we went out I made sure to download Hyperdimension Neptunia and played it at full volume so he would be associated with the guy blasting sexual anime noises from his bing bing wahoo machine. I had a good time. He hasnt invited me out since. Sometimes you need to limit test and not even care what your friends think of you.

>>1666357 You're both gay
>>1666357 You should drop that "friend" I had to drop all the "friends" I made in High School and Collee since they proved to be self-obsessed no-taste-havin' faggots.

>>1668063 I fucking love Mike, his last Mario Paint stream was top tier
>>1668063 Different ID but I pretty much did. With 99% of the people I knew in high school I would take the initiative to hang out, or even send them my username on various things for them to add me, and they never do. So over time it becomes no contact. Probably for the best.
>>1668561 From what you've described, you were upset enough at a friendly banter (of course the Steam Deck is thick as hell) to transform it into some kind of public humiliation out of revenge Yeah no wonder the guy wouldn't trust such an autist who blow things out of proportion.
>>1669606 >you were upset enough at a friendly banter (of course the Steam Deck is thick as hell) ???
>>1669606 how is playing anime moans any different of a prank than playing porn moans? you are upset over the guy coming back with a mildly different old joke
>>1666357 Now I appreciate that you wanted to tell your friend to get bent in an humorous way but broadcasting loud unwanted sounds in public is absolute nigger behavior, please refrain from doing that.
>>1669818 >you are upset over the guy coming back with a mildly different old joke More like flabbergasted that anon thought blasting (embarrassing) sounds at high volume in public was remotely a good idea, and in retaliation of what could have been a mere light joke from his friend for previously bringing a Steam Deck. I don't think it was worth losing friends for this kind of stunt but whatever
>all these people biting the obvious bait You either own a Steam Deck or you have friends, you never have both.
>>1666357 The steam deck IS stupid though, I'm not even talking about appearances but it's like you're holding a food tray with joysticks. I'm still assblasted the Vita failed, now everything is designed as being a weapon that you could use to bludgeon someone to death with. Might as well just weld a screen and battery onto an actual console and hold it in your hands, it'll be a "handheld". >>1669818 >how is playing anime moans any different of a prank than playing porn moans? How is playing moans or porn a prank at all? That's just kind of weird.
>>1669987 >Might as well just weld a screen and battery onto an actual console and hold it in your hands, it'll be a "handheld". There are plenty of those around, latter two are available for purchase >How is playing moans or porn a prank at all? bait and switch videos
>>1670067 >>1666357 No wonder you guys don't have friends lol. You seem like an absolute joy to be around.
>>1671333 They never said they didn't have friends.
>>1669987 >Might as well just weld a screen and battery onto an actual console and hold it in your hands, it'll be a "handheld". Behold! The Gamecube prototype. Makes sense when you read about how they were trying to make the Gamecube as portable of a game console as possible, from it's box-shape to it's handle to carry it easy from one room to another One thing I would like to know, is where this whole "if it doesn't fit in your pocket, it's not a portable game console" discussion came from. I have seen it for years, maybe even a decade, but just thought of it as Nintendo vs Sony shitposting, and shifting goalposts like "well at least it fits in cargo pants". PCs don't have this problem, nobody looks at a laptop and says, "it doesn't fit in my pocket so it's not a portable PC", they just carry it in a backpack or in a laptop bag. I always saw the SteamDeck as closer to a laptop than a Switch/Vita, so again, i don't understand this autism of "it's too big", like nigger, I've used 15.6 inch laptops, I don't see how a Deck is too big.
>>1671474 >I don't understand this autism >reveals he's even more autistic Nigger, you don't hold a laptop with your hands while you play on it. Moreover, a laptop was never viewed as an analog to handheld gaming devices. A laptop is a laptop, a handheld is a handheld. These devices are obviously closer to the latter and its immediately obvious to anyone with eyeballs. My goodness this thread attracts the biggest troglodytes on the board.
>>1671540 >Nigger, you don't hold a laptop with your hands while you play on it. Would you be fine with the distinction between a handheld and a portable game console? >Moreover, a laptop was never viewed as an analog to handheld gaming devices. Were Tower PCs viewed as an analog to home consoles? Will your answer be: "No, because a home console was generally hooked to a TV, while the Tower PC was generally hooked to a monitor."?
>>1671566 >Would you be fine with the distinction between a handheld and a portable game console? There was never a need for that until now because handheld consoles were both portable and handheld except in rare cases, and the rare cases were usually colossal failures that were forgotten about. (e.g. the Lynx or the Game Gear) >Were Tower PCs viewed as an analog to home consoles? Will your answer be: "No, because a home console was generally hooked to a TV, while the Tower PC was generally hooked to a monitor."? PCs are not consoles. It's literally in the name, dumbfuck. They are personal computers as opposed to video game consoles. Anyone with a brain knows that a laptop is just a portable computer with a slightly different default control scheme and downgraded hardware PCs were always meant to be general use, with video cards allowing them to handle a variety of additional activities that required the additional rendering power, including gaming. A console's OS, default control scheme, and hardware was generally custom-built for gaming alone, and maybe at most a few minor media features as time went on. That's why gaming PCs often required higher specs on-paper than a console to achieve the same results for a long time to compensate for the overhead that necessarily comes with being a general use machine. Nowadays, yes, there's less distinction between them because of how much more similar they are these days compared to the old days, and there was a weird period of time where they were vaguely akin to vidya consoles like the Commodore 64, but generally speaking this was the case throughout history. Either way, this is clearly irrelevant to the point. If you can't tell the difference between a console and a PC just by looking at them and their operation then you're beyond hopeless.
>>1671474 >One thing I would like to know, is where this whole "if it doesn't fit in your pocket, it's not a portable game console" discussion came from. ease of transport - there are breakpoints to size and it correlates with portability, if you can fit it in your pocket you can bring it almost everywhere, if you need a backpack to carry it around it limits the portability since you need something extra and if its a home console/tower pc you are certainly not lugging it around
