>>1956517 E33 is what journos were fawning over all year and they're the ones voting so it will probably clear easy, even categories it might not "deserve" to.
>Games like you don’t get awards. That’s just the way it is. You’re here to entertain, to make people laugh, to TWOAH for them. But you’re not Game Awards material. You don’t belong in the same league as me. I’m ‘The Game.’ I’m the best in this business, the measuring stick, the top of the mountain, and you? You’ll always be beneath me. You’ll never be more than a sideshow, a joke. You can talk about your past, your struggles, your dreams, but at the end of the day, games like you don’t get to hold a title. It’s reserved for games that are better, games like me.
>>1956649 No anon. Vavra won't win. He used to be bad in their eyes. The most he'll get is a nomination. THAT is his reward for being a turncoat. A little pat on the head.
>>1956649 <we are making a realistic historically accurate RPG based in early 15th century Bohemia >lets add future progom and a traveling mali african in a land locked region of europe >and let's remove all the choice and consequences, because, fuck you, actors and voice acting is expensive Imagine if I made an accurate game about the american revolutionary war, and one of the characters started talking about the bolsheviks, its stupid, and it makes no sense. Munsa as a character makes no sense, why would any muslim travel to the middle of bum fuck nowhere in a time of religious conflicts and possible religious persecutions, it would be suicidal, if this game was set in Iberia most people wouldn't have any problem with the character. far as I know Vavra is a two-face faggot, he only cares about money, he doesn't care about his game or the history of his country.
>>1955479 that's not the point the bulk of people are gay and retarded, this is multiplied by 100x because of all of the political faggots and the normies who "got into gaming" because of the lockdowns AND the phenomenon of hardware-level spoofing engagement farms in the 3rd world so even if that last part disappeared tomorrow, if you just do it by popular vote you're going to end up with whatever put the most money into advertising, not with the actual best in class for each respective genre and niche Look at Palworld it's just a copy-paste of ARK:Survival Evolved with a pokemon skin on the dinosaurs, which is exactly what it started as, a pokemon skin pack for ARK Palworld is a shitpost that was picked up by SONY to use as a cudgel to browbeat Nintendo with, it's not even the first time they do it retards and shills got it up to 2M concurrent players on Steam, popularity means absolutely nothing in terms of quality so yes, you do need a set of people who know what they're talking about, just because those people do not exist in the professional gaming landscape today doesn't mean the idea itself is flawed
>>1956676 KCD2 is not a CRPG, it belongs to whatever genre the Elder Scrolls games occupy, open world ARPG or what have you. I also wouldn't consider it a good game but I can understand comparing it to the current market and saying that since it is better than Bloodlines 2 it is good. It's a rather solipsistic way of doing things but if your goal is to foment conversation rather than play good games it's a viewpoint that serves well.
>>1957028 TES are also CRPGs anon
(359.58 KB 1293x1213 1655296303110.jpg)

>>1956094 That precise platforming against a rising threat? Mm-mm. Nope. Not for me.
>>1956649 >>1956676 N I G G E R
>>1957129 You're black, black is no!
>>1957028 Besides being a CRPG, TES, and to an extent Bethesda Fallout, is a dungeon crawler at it's core. This is something that hasn't really changed even in Skyrim. As far as I know, KCD2 is NOT a dungeon crawler.
>>1956985 No the idea itself is flawed. The very fact that journalists who DO NOT KNOW what they're talking about, get to pick out rewards for their friends shows the inherent flaws.
>>1956649 I know this is bait but I've seen this kinda of response before and I want to see an answer. >advocacy and consultancy teams demand representation for whatever flavour of the month fashions and use extortion to get it This is apparently not culture war shit. >saying fuck off to it This is culture war shit. Can someone explain this phenomenon?
>>1960220 Very simple, anon. Those people aren't here in good faith. They're here to subvert board culture and steer the conversation away from attacking people they politically align with.

10 days left for another dose of suffering At least I get to laugh at the absolute fucking state of AAA as it dies a slow agonizing death by 1000 cuts.
The existence of this Wikipedia page has come to my attention. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_considered_the_best >This is a list of video games that video game journalists or magazines have considered among the best of all time. The games are included on at least six separate best-of lists from different publications (inclusive of all time periods, platforms and genres), as chosen by their editorial staff. Seems like an interesting enough way of trying to make this kind of list, but looking at it pretty much solidifies something I've felt ever since that year.So I ask if anyone agrees or disagrees. Is 2014 the worst year for games ever? or at least the most mediocre? I'll never forget that fucking Dragon Age Inquisition won Game of the Year. Butterface the Elf being considered the pinincal of what was achieved for that entire year. That is when in time I can directly point at where I lost all respect for the games industry. The best part is, despite having won Game of the Year for 2014, it doesn't qualify for this Wiki list. No one gives enough of a fuck about 2014's game of the year enough to remember it existed.
>>1988488 >Is 2014 the worst year for games ever? I've struggled to come up with worse. Even Geoff, when he announced DAI won, had this "well it is what it is" look on his face. I'm gonna look down the list of games that came out that year and see if I can find ANYTHING I like even sort of. 1. Smash 4 (it was better than Brawl at least) 2. Dark Souls 2...is not that great but it's...okay I guess? 3. Shovel Knight was a pretty good indie game at the time at least 4. Alien Isolation was decent if a bit jank 5. Shadow of Mordor was really simple but kinda fun. The sequel was mechanically better at the cost of implementing more dumb story shit. 6. Bayo 2...kind of divisive
>>1988488 spintires came out in 2014 so it evens out with the rest
>>1988488 2014 was pretty terrible yeah I remember only giving a shit about mods, Japanese PC ports and Rayman Legends and Child of Light. Feels weird to say that Ubisoft actually released good games once. Most of their library since 2008-2012 has been nothing but trash but they still released some gems here and there. I'm just glad we're past that now
>>1988509 I liked Wolfenstein The New Order, but I wouldn't consider it more than a Solid shooter. Hyrule Warriors was probably the game I played the most that year, so I've got to give some credit for how cool the Ganondorf part of the campaign was as an idea.
>>1988488 I am surprised that 2019, 2022 and 2023 only have one game on that list, as if all publications agreed on that particular game. I can kind of understand ER and BG3, but Disco Elysium? What about Ace Combat 7? Kingdom Hearts 3? Devil May Cry 5? YIIK :^)? and so on.
>>1988521 Oh yeah New Order was really good, sizeable levels with lots of secrets and collectables, great gunplay and good writing and music. That shit should have gotten GOTY since 2D stuff was still looked down upon by AAA queers, you even killed muh Nazis, which were already a pretty sizeable chunk of leftyniggers boogeyman at that point, but I guess EA had a bigger paycheck. Not as good as Wolfenstein 2009 but still really good considering most things released that year, the forced upon you dripfeeding progression challenge system forced upon Bethesda executives really drags the game down though. What they did with The New Colossus still sends me into a blinding rage and completely killed Machine Games as a viable studio, that and DICEs Battleshit 1 makes me want to nuke Sweden until it's nothing but ashes.
>>1988545 >What about Ace Combat 7? Kingdom Hearts 3? Devil May Cry 5? A game simply being Japanese already leaves it at a big disadvantage when it comes to journalists caring about it. >KH3 I don't think KH3 on release was good enough. It really needed the Remind DLC to flesh out it's gameplay potential. The game doesn't even have the Coliseum despite Hercules being the first world you visit. I'll assume KH3 going through development troubles is what lead to it's lacking in secondary content. Hopefully KH4's development is going smoothly, and it's a more fleshed out game on release. >DMC5 There is nothing that disgusts a game journalists more than an Arcadey Japanese Action game with a focus on skill improvement and replayability. Lets not forget they sung the praises of the western produced DmC Devil May Cry for years while simultaneously shitting on DMC fans for not accepting it.

>>1988488 >2010: Fallout: New Vegas >2015: Fallout 404 >2018: Fallout 86'd Jej. I really hope that Starfield flopping as bad as it has gets big daddy Microsoft on their ass to hurry up and port FO3 to rustle up some cash because no matter what happens the schadenfreude will be exquisite. If FO3 gets a port then one of three things is going to happen: >(1) Follow it up with a proper port of New Vegas and watch helplessly as New Vegas bodies everything they've developed since 2002 >(2) Release a shitty port of New Vegas and have everyone call them out on it as M$ calls them to the office to explain themselves >(3) Refuse to port New Vegas and put their fully fractured ass on display to the entire world It's a no-lose situation, honestly.
>>1988648 Starfield probably didn't flop (Shattered Space ABSOLUTELY did) but it did fail to make an impact and apparently its tail was short.
>>1988805 I don't know man if it did make it's money back Bethesda might have finally burnt their niggercattle just a bit to hard.
>>1988811 Casuals fucking hated that game so much lmao, go to any Starfield community and it's all Gen X gamer dads and millennial Xbox fanboys. Bethesda's games usually draw a decent number of women, you do not see any women in Starfield's community; just dads and fanboys. That's a good tell it was not a hit with casuals.
>>1988843 >because Starfield doesn't have a lot of women and is supposedly filled with fanboys and gamer dads it is not a hit with casuals What kind of retarded logic is this? What's left of Starfield's popularity also casuals. Do you think the more hardcore gaymers are playing this heap of shit? The only dumbasses who are still playing Starfield are the same retards who enjoyed Fallout 4.
>>1988811 It's hard to tell anything about the game's financials, Microsoft likes to report so many millions of "players" but most of those are Game Pass subscribers. Gamalytic estimates about 3m copies on Steam. >>1988965 Posts like like remind me that America's literacy rate is lower than Zimbabwe.
>>1989092 >Posts like like >like like Guess you've proved yourself wrong retard.
>>1989151 Tragically, I'm also American :^( >>1989223 no
>>1989230 Oh, you hate Americans? You’ll fit right in with Zimbabwe, they’re obviously the real intellectuals here.
>>1988965 you don't know what a casual is, casual is a spectrum, you have people who play candy crush, to people who play cowadutty and niggerlo and kikefield, neither of these games are "hardcore", and the people who play these games are not hardcore players. Skyrim is a casual game, if you can get a candy crush player or a niggerduty playah to play your game you have a casual friendly game, example Arc Riders, that is a casual friendly game, if you only get a very specific subset of manchildren, your game is not a casual game, is a niche game. emptyfield is a niche game made for a very specific group of people, manchildren who still jerks off to Star Trek.
