Happy 2026, everyone! Let’s make this a great year! Feel free to post any games you’re starting up in 2026, games you beat this year or new releases you’re looking forward to this year. I’ll be starting the year by beginning Stardew Valley, which I’ll have as a sort of ‘background’ game of which I’ll play one in-game day per real-world day. As for new releases, I’ll avoid getting hyped for anything until we see a good amount of it. Reanimal is one I have my eye on early in the year. —————————— Also, here’s something that’ll make you feel old: Games that are turning 50 in 2026: >Breakout >Death Race Games that are turning 40 in 2026: >Castlevania >Metroid >The Legend of Zelda >Outrun >Bubble Bobble >Rampage >Kid Icarus Games that are turning 30 in 2026: >Resident Evil >Pokémon Red and Blue >Super Mario 64 >PaRappa the Rapper >Crash Bandicoot >Tomb Raider >Command and Conquer: Red Alert >Duke Nukem 3D >The House of the Dead >Quake >Twisted Metal 2 >The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall >Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain >Mario Kart 64 >Diablo >Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Games that are turning 20 in 2026: >The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess >Bully >Hitman: Blood Money >The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion >Gears of War
[Expand Post]>Guitar Hero II >Saint's Row >Dead Rising >Final Fantasy XII >Tomb Raider: Legend >Call of Duty 3 >God Hand >Rule of Rose >Mortal Kombat: Armageddon >Resistance: Fall of Man Games that are turning 10 in 2026: >Stardew Valley >Doom >Uncharted 4 >Dark Souls III >Dead by Daylight >GO TO THE BATHROOM YOU ARE SHITTING YOURSELF >Persona 5 >Overwatch >Battlefield 1 >Titanfall 2 >Final Fantasy XV >Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location >Inside >No Man's Sky >Deus Ex: Mankind Divided >World of Warcraft: Legion >The Division >XCOM 2 >Civilization VI >Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 >My Summer Car
>>2073062 The remake landed gracefully
>>2073126 Any screenshots?

>>2073126 >>2073336 It's based on the 1999 Windows version instead of the 1993 PC98 original https://erogamescape.dyndns.org/~ap2/ero/toukei_kaiseki/game.php?game=465
I saw today that Crimson Fluttershy has gotten a remake and is releasing in a couple of months. Anyone know how bad it is yet? >>2073425 Well that's better than I expected but both of the newer ones lack the character of the original.
>>2074282 >Anyone know how bad it is yet It doesn't have Treehouse to deal with at least. How's the other Fatal Frame games that are on Steam?
>>2069156 >10 years since fnaf fml

>>2069156 OP here. I’ve decided to avoid all other massive time-sink games and just have SDV as my one ‘long-term” game. While I’ve enjoyed MMOs and the like in the past, I’d rather experience many different smaller games than devote myself to one big game for the same period of time. I’ll be thinking of short-term games and other media to start up beginning in February as I’ll just be using this first month of the year to get into a good daily rhythm. Like I said, I think I’ll probably get Reanimal on the day it releases in February.
>>2072356 Have you fucked your cousin yet?
>>2079715 fugg :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
>>2074282 In honor of this, I just picked up Fatal Frame 1 (Project Zero) today. I am playing it with PCSX2 and noticed there is a slight bug which causes ghosts to be invisible (ironic) but luckily there exists a fix for that. For any anons who are curious, the fix is detailed here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TFlg2X8Kb8E7mzxyXYArxa-oszEZJxISYw6fZZ5DdJc/edit?tab=t.0 Basically just sounds like the default settings for PCSX2 don't play well with Project Zero, so some adjustments are necessary. I got to the long-armed ghost and was wondering why it's so fuckin hard to tell when to take a picture, only to realize that it's because ghosts aren't supposed to be entirely invisible.
>>2081554 Why are you using an ancient version of pcsx2?
>>2081554 I replayed this and the second and third games a couple months back and never had a single issue. You may need to update your PCSX2 version anon.
huh
>>2081554 I gotta play some more PS2 games this year. the characters still look so good.
Here are some upcoming games with actual release dates that are coming out in 2026. Which are you planning on playing? January >Code Vein II February >Dragon Quest VII Reimagined >Nioh 3 >Mario Tennis Fever >Reanimal >Resident Evil Requiem March >Pokemon Pokopia >Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake >Mouse: P.I. For Hire April >Pragmata

>>2083539 >Echoes of the Living >Panzer Strike >Klostyn >Derelikt >Dark Light Survivor >83 >Menace
>>2083539 The only one that is bound to be good is Nioh 3. Crapcom's record in recent history is worse than a coinflip.
Otherwise Corpse party II DD might be good but only if they actually do real work on it considering the delay that happened.
>>2082685 >>2082067 Hehe...I was about 10 years old. Updating PCSX2 fixed the issue right up.
>>2084010 At a good time as well, they literally updated a build yesterday that fixes a ton of major issues including 2D menu artifacts when upscaling the game.
>>2083539 >Code Vein II >Bamco is currently insane >DQVII >Squeenix bastardized their last two remakes >Nioh Don't care >Mario >Nintendo >Reanimal Don't know >RE Dropped the series with the fifth game when I should've dropped it with the sixth. >Pokemon >Ever >Mouse Forgot about that one and is that rare case of a new game peaking my interest. >Pragmata Looks boring so after Crapcom removes its DRM and is on sale.
>>2084388 >>Bamco is currently insane Bandai trying not to cannibalize their own games for just one secon
>>2084388 >Defending RE5 You're the biggest faggot in this thread
>>2084496 >Defending I don't think you know what that word means. Why I said I shoulda quit with RE6 is because it looks like it has a really fun Mercenaries mode.
>>2084542 You should play revelations instead they're both better games than 6 and any modern crapcom title.
>>2084550 >Revelations I've heard about how that was handled; I don't think I'm autistic enough to enjoy grinding. I also don't remember not caring much about it when I played the demo on 3DS.
>>2084564 3DS control scheme wasn't exactly great for a resi game otherwise I'm in the same book I cannot handle grinding outside of jarpigs and 6 was practically unplayable outside of leon's campaign.
What games did you anons beat last year? And what do you plan on cleaning out from your backlog this year?
>>2084572 >6 was practically unplayable outside of leon's campaign I can stomach call of booty when the other 2/3 of the game has something I can enjoy, with Sherry's butt being the cherry on top.
>>2084542 My mistake, but no Mercs in 6, as good as it is, doesn't save an anemic blockbuster shitty game with no atmosphere, same with Coop in Modern Warfare 2 and 3. Leaving at 5 was the best you did and it hasn't really gotten any better outside of better resource management mechanics.
>>2084564 >I don't think I'm autistic enough to enjoy grinding Well the grinding is only for Raid mode, which is completely optional. The campaign itself is pretty nice. You can feel the lower scope of it being a 3DS game, but I still think it's a good time. Though some people were filtered by the dodging mechanics like with RE3

>>2084624 This is why i love RE 6
>>2085016 >it hasn't really gotten any better outside of better resource management mechanics >>2085317 >This is why i love RE 6 RE had such great asses you could enjoy as you blow monsters brains out, until the series completely went to shit when Crapcom had the wonderful idea to heavily invest in VR. I honestly don't know what's worse, them trying to ape CoD or them heavily investing their money and plans into a fad.
>>2084615 Hardly any, that’s why I want to focus on media that has a clear ending rather than one you just sink 500 hours into. I’d also like to read more books and watch more movies. What about you?
>>2085558 Games I completed last year >Yakuza 0 >KCD1 (almost beaten 2) >Nine Sols >Intravenous 1 + 2 (highly recommend) >Silksong >Sonic x Shadow Generations >Ghost Trick >Expedition 33 >Apollo Justice >Hades 2 Lots of games from last year that I started and then didn't complete, so I'll try to restart some of those from scratch and beat them (especially Nier Replicant and the other games in the Apollo Justice trilogy). And my brother bought me GoW 2018 years ago as a gift and I feel bad for not having played it yet, so I'll probably put that on my list of games to play next just to get it out of the way. Non-gaming resolution would be to try to get 5 garage workouts in per week and read for at least an hour before bed every night - been meaning to start Dune for a long ass time.
