Make sure you treat your Vita well. always love her, and never abandon her or allow her to be damaged or broken or you're no better than Soyny. How do you work around the PSM DRM? So, for whatever reason, NoPayStation and PKGj no longer function when downloading or installing PSM games. I did manage to find a repository of PSM games saved to Myrient however (Which include many more games than you can find on listed on NPS and PKGj): https://myrient.erista.me/files/No-Intro/Sony%20-%20PlayStation%20Mobile%20%28PSN%29/ But this brings me forward to my current problem. I cannot get these games installed. I managed to unpack them with pkg2zip, transferred them to my device, and they are showing up on the LiveArea, but I cannot actually load them because opening a game requires that I activate them through PSN. I already have NoPSMDRM installed, and have been using it to play PSM games prior to this for years. In addition, I tried rebuilding the database through ONEMenu, but it still requires that I activate the games. What am I doing wrong? As a side note, I'm doing this on a Vita TV, and have a USB drive as my storage device).

>Shuhei Yoshida claims 2 fan favourite PS Vita games were getting sequels before the transition to PS4 https://archive.ph/tDiVJ https://gyo.tc/1jQLN <Sequels to two fan-favourite PS Vita games were in development before the budget for both games was diverted to PlayStation 4 development. <That’s according to former SIE president Shuhei Yoshida, who this week revealed that the sequels were in development, but ultimately scrapped as Sony transitioned from focusing on the cult-favourite handheld to putting its resources behind the PS4. <Speaking on Sacred Symbols+, Yoshida said: “We were actually working on Soul Sacrifice 2 and Freedom Wars 2, but because of budget limitation we had to stop and move on to PS4.” <Yoshida also claimed that the move to PS4 is the main reason that more Sony first-party IP didn’t receive a PS Vita iteration, in the same style as Sony Bend’s Uncharted: Golden Abyss. <Freedom Wars was originally developed by Dimps and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. While a niche hit in the West, the game was far more popular in Japan, achieving the second-highest opening sales for any PlayStation Vita title.
>>1375437 The evidence keeps piling up that they sabotaged the Vita in favor of the PS4.

I have a question that will most likely be answered with a resounding "no": Is there a FPS on the Vita that uses a joystick/front touchscreen hybrid control scheme to aim? I'm asking this because I was recently "trying" to get into Killzone Mercenary. This game has a control scheme I really don't like: Triangle to interact, Circle to both sprint or crouch depending on whether you're moving or not, while the sprint function is also bound to the back touch screen... But for aiming, it uses joystick, optional motion controls and aim assist to correct the aim. I despise motion control, especially with the small FOV that shouldn't belong in a console where the screen is near your nose, and it really doesn't give the extra precision the joystick lacks (and would correct with a fucking aimbot for many years). If you jerk the trigger, the shot goes off-target because you moved the console, and it doesn't feel natural compared to, let's say, using a lightgun for a rail shooter or even the Move to play Killzone 3, it's like using a camera, with the precision of the Sixaxis controls back on the PS3, which would then be ditched by every dev for good reason. I was therefore wondering if there was a game that thought of this hybrid, and you could use the joystick to quickly turn to the target, then use the touch screen for more precise aiming. Funny nuke buddy unrelated
>>1418674 >Prefers dual sticks to motion controls Okay buddy, I see how it is.
>>1418679 I wasn't thinking of a second stick, I was thinking of a thumbpad on the screen.

Anyone here still buy Vita games? I think I have all that I was really interested in, but I'd like to hear from anyone who picked on up more recently. >>1377835 All the evidence you need is found in the fact that Sony stopped doing anything with the Vita after the PS4 dropped. >>1092361 >Someone speaking positively about The Caligula Effect Neat. Seemed like I was the only person who actually liked it. How bad could the remake be? Caligula Effect 2 was great.
>>1365893 A bit of an update. Happened across a site that backed up the PSM server data before the Sony shut them down: http://psmreborn.com/ So now I can download and unpack the games that where previously available through PKGj/NPS (By adding the site's URL to the config file), including a few extra titles I didn't know about previously, but that's it. So now it's about finding a way to play the PSM games that don't have any available licenses or keys floating around. Also found this Git in the process that links to a lot of useful resources for Vita users: https://github.com/MuxaJlbl4/Awesome-PlayStation-Vita >>1431653 >Anyone here still buy Vita games? >>1467489 Anyone can confirm its not pozzed or otherwise fucked with?
>>1468045 the translation was originally going to use they/them for (you)r pronouns but people got really pissed off at that so they went back and rewrote all the dialogue with he/him. So it *was* pozzed and now isn't I guess it could be an indicator that other stuff could get by, but the translator is a frenchman that genuinely didn't understand identity politics and just thought they/them was the norm. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt
I lost my charger, does anyone know if there is a cheap aftermarket charger for the Vita?
I'm starting Ciel Nosurge Offline which I've heard should be similar enough to the original Ciel Nosurge but without all of the online functionalities, or at least replaced with something such that you won't need to be online. What exactly does that entail? Does that mean I'll be able to read through the story and keep playing it for hours at a time, or would I still have to wait some time (or at least modify my date&time)? I read there's also a mechanic that needed the camera to scan something to connect online to acquire something, but I'm not sure which exactly is the replacement for that mechanic. I've played visual novels and dating simulator games before, but never one that has mechanics bound to real time like Love Plus (or so I've heard), so I'm not sure how to proceed with this game. Do I just play (i.e. talk to Ion and ask her to do things) it for 5 to 15 minutes every day and slowly but organically progress? yes i know i posted it in halfchan first but i didn't get any responses yet
>>1513045 iirc the offline version lets you skip ahead instead of waiting The new Sharl system just has you input a barcode's numbers instead of scanning the barcode itself Haven't played yet because Im going through Tonelico first but I at least plan on doing it daily instead of rushing it. I think the concept is pretty cool >yes i know i posted it in halfchan first but i didn't get any responses yet Don't even bother with halfchan's vita thread, it's basically just a general chatroom for a small group of people pretending they're a vita thread. Barely any of them really care about it I remember asking about if there's any good grips aside from the hori and the response I got was "what console are you getting a grip for?" They said that. In the vita thread.
>>1513816 >skip ahead instead of waiting I looked in-game and yes there's the option but you consume a resource called HymnP and according to the tutorial you also use it for other things so I don't want to consume it yet since I don't even know how to replenish those. >Sharl system Are there any specific barcodes, or can you just scan/input any barcode? >Don't even bother Yeah, I've stopped visiting the other site regularly after the hack but I thought there'll still be a few decent threads around, guess I'm wrong.
>>1514049 >Are there any specific barcodes, or can you just scan/input any barcode? from what I've heard you can put in any but there's also a couple special barcodes that give unique sharls. No clue which those are though
>>1514054 Sweet, time to go through my last batch of groceries and randomly put their barcodes in. Thank you.
I use my vita for emulation these days. It's a bit of a mine field because some things work and some things work. For example, some of the standalone emus are rather slow, and while some run fine, they do NOT like romhacks. Retroarch gives me the best compatibility overall. I even use it for PS1 emulation, since Adrenaline gives me problems with specific titles (Mega Man Legends breaks textures for example)
>>1513816 >I remember asking about if there's any good grips aside from the hori and the response I got was "what console are you getting a grip for?" They said that. In the vita thread. Maybe they meant between the slim and the fat versions? At least I hope so. >>1514188 >Retroarch Ewww. Also Adrenaline shouldn't give issues like that, that's really weird.
Is it known who drew this particular box art for Ciel Nosurge? It used to be what's on vndb before concerto got released afaik but I can't find it there anymore, but it's still on wikipedia. This box art is what got me interested in the game in the first place.
Ciel Nosurge translation update >Okay, thanks to a report from @Gojeongnik , I found out that there's a critical bug with chapter 08, episode 07, since a pointer error caused wrongful insertions that break the dialog past a certain point. >Here's the event file to fix it, which you must copy to the following directory: ux0:/rePatch/PCSG00454/Inc/Event/res/08 https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/730518957110460478/1391273882492604416/ME08_07.txt?ex=686b4c46&is=6869fac6&hm=2ec94c9a80b187384c3480ae494857d5bd3a537f30040893357392d5a5c5b7d6& apologies for the >dicksword link but that's where it is until the patcher gets updated. Somehow, for some reason, God saw fit to bless me today because I run across a complete first-run copy of Macross Delta Scramble: Rune Pika Sound Edition at a local store that didn't know what it had and was selling it for ten Freedom Bucks. For those wondering why this is so "special", it's an exclusive "deluxe" edition of the game with an additional 30 songs from the entire Macross franchise.
>>1557981 Very nice anon. I've been trolling the local stores myself for Vita games and unfortunately they seemed to be cleared out at every place I checked so far.
Anyone know of any Vita-tan custom themes, or 8chan ones?
(6.96 MB 1996x4575 Untitled.png)

>>1583026 I remember it being pretty easy to make your own. Just grab a theme to use as a template to save time https://psvt.ovh/ (I usually just grab one with nice icons), then use a tool to edit it like https://github.com/AntHJ/ThemeBUILDER I made a little steins;gate theme by grabbing an existing one for the custom icons, then adding my own backgrounds, music and tweaked the colors a bit.
