How about you anons? Feel free to do writeups and reviews of games you've played as well, they may end up getting added to the chart (eventually). Make sure you treat your Vita well. always love her, and never abandon her or allow her to be damaged or broken or you're no better than Soyny. And reminder not to buy anything digital that supports Soyny (unless its for archival, sharing and piracy purposes ofc, which might become important pretty soon). >>1467489 Anyone can confirm its not pozzed or otherwise fucked with?
>>1468045 the translation was originally going to use they/them for (you)r pronouns but people got really pissed off at that so they went back and rewrote all the dialogue with he/him. So it *was* pozzed and now isn't I guess it could be an indicator that other stuff could get by, but the translator is a frenchman that genuinely didn't understand identity politics and just thought they/them was the norm. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt
I lost my charger, does anyone know if there is a cheap aftermarket charger for the Vita?
I'm starting Ciel Nosurge Offline which I've heard should be similar enough to the original Ciel Nosurge but without all of the online functionalities, or at least replaced with something such that you won't need to be online. What exactly does that entail? Does that mean I'll be able to read through the story and keep playing it for hours at a time, or would I still have to wait some time (or at least modify my date&time)? I read there's also a mechanic that needed the camera to scan something to connect online to acquire something, but I'm not sure which exactly is the replacement for that mechanic. I've played visual novels and dating simulator games before, but never one that has mechanics bound to real time like Love Plus (or so I've heard), so I'm not sure how to proceed with this game. Do I just play (i.e. talk to Ion and ask her to do things) it for 5 to 15 minutes every day and slowly but organically progress? yes i know i posted it in halfchan first but i didn't get any responses yet
>>1513045 iirc the offline version lets you skip ahead instead of waiting The new Sharl system just has you input a barcode's numbers instead of scanning the barcode itself Haven't played yet because Im going through Tonelico first but I at least plan on doing it daily instead of rushing it. I think the concept is pretty cool >yes i know i posted it in halfchan first but i didn't get any responses yet Don't even bother with halfchan's vita thread, it's basically just a general chatroom for a small group of people pretending they're a vita thread. Barely any of them really care about it I remember asking about if there's any good grips aside from the hori and the response I got was "what console are you getting a grip for?" They said that. In the vita thread.
>>1513816 >skip ahead instead of waiting I looked in-game and yes there's the option but you consume a resource called HymnP and according to the tutorial you also use it for other things so I don't want to consume it yet since I don't even know how to replenish those. >Sharl system Are there any specific barcodes, or can you just scan/input any barcode? >Don't even bother Yeah, I've stopped visiting the other site regularly after the hack but I thought there'll still be a few decent threads around, guess I'm wrong.
>>1514049 >Are there any specific barcodes, or can you just scan/input any barcode? from what I've heard you can put in any but there's also a couple special barcodes that give unique sharls. No clue which those are though
>>1514054 Sweet, time to go through my last batch of groceries and randomly put their barcodes in. Thank you.
I use my vita for emulation these days. It's a bit of a mine field because some things work and some things work. For example, some of the standalone emus are rather slow, and while some run fine, they do NOT like romhacks. Retroarch gives me the best compatibility overall. I even use it for PS1 emulation, since Adrenaline gives me problems with specific titles (Mega Man Legends breaks textures for example)
>>1513816 >I remember asking about if there's any good grips aside from the hori and the response I got was "what console are you getting a grip for?" They said that. In the vita thread. Maybe they meant between the slim and the fat versions? At least I hope so. >>1514188 >Retroarch Ewww. Also Adrenaline shouldn't give issues like that, that's really weird.
Is it known who drew this particular box art for Ciel Nosurge? It used to be what's on vndb before concerto got released afaik but I can't find it there anymore, but it's still on wikipedia. This box art is what got me interested in the game in the first place.
Ciel Nosurge translation update >Okay, thanks to a report from @Gojeongnik , I found out that there's a critical bug with chapter 08, episode 07, since a pointer error caused wrongful insertions that break the dialog past a certain point. >Here's the event file to fix it, which you must copy to the following directory: ux0:/rePatch/PCSG00454/Inc/Event/res/08 https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/730518957110460478/1391273882492604416/ME08_07.txt?ex=686b4c46&is=6869fac6&hm=2ec94c9a80b187384c3480ae494857d5bd3a537f30040893357392d5a5c5b7d6& apologies for the >dicksword link but that's where it is until the patcher gets updated. Catbox tries to display it instead of just downloading the file since it's .txt and I fear that might fuck it up

Somehow, for some reason, God saw fit to bless me today because I run across a complete first-run copy of Macross Delta Scramble: Rune Pika Sound Edition at a local store that didn't know what it had and was selling it for ten Freedom Bucks. For those wondering why this is so "special", it's an exclusive "deluxe" edition of the game with an additional 30 songs from the entire Macross franchise.
>>1557981 Very nice anon. I've been trolling the local stores myself for Vita games and unfortunately they seemed to be cleared out at every place I checked so far.
Anyone know of any Vita-tan custom themes, or 8chan ones?
(6.96 MB 1996x4575 Untitled.png)

>>1583026 I remember it being pretty easy to make your own. Just grab a theme to use as a template to save time https://psvt.ovh/ (I usually just grab one with nice icons), then use a tool to edit it like https://github.com/AntHJ/ThemeBUILDER I made a little steins;gate theme by grabbing an existing one for the custom icons, then adding my own backgrounds, music and tweaked the colors a bit.
Any recommendations for VNs on the vita? For some reason I have the urge to read something but specifically on a vita. It's a comfy device for it.
>>1729079 I don't think it should be reminded that 90% of the visual novels on Vita are behind the language barrier, while English translations tend to be a bit more available on Switch. But if you don't mind that particular issue, then I could recommend : >Amagami Ebikore+ (Vita preferably for the higher resolution assets) still hoping for a Switch port in the future >Utawarerumono trilogy (Chiriyuku Mono e no Komoriuta / Prelude of the Fallen being the first title to begin with) >Hayarigami 1 & 2 (PSP) / Shin Hayarigami (Vita - reboot) >Muv-Luv >Machi (PSP) >Grisaia trilogy (on Vita, each title is separate) + Magical Girl Michiru spin-offs (weirdly the sole ones that didn't make on Switch) >Chaos;Head (probably the sole time where the Vita version is objectively superior unlike the previous PS3/PSP/Switch releases due of a route with the mentions of cannibalism and gore not being toned down) >Steins;Gate (another example I would consider the Vita version better compared to the "Elite" release on later platforms, there are also the Japan-only spin-offs with the romantic comedy being fun) >Memories Off (PSP for the earlier titles & Vita for the later ones) >Fate/Stay Night >Little Busters Converted Edition (Vita) >Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm >Hakuisei Ren'ai Shoukougun RE:Therapy / Nurse Love Syndrome (Vita) >Yumeutsutsu Re:After >Flowers (Printemps (Spring) is the first title, followed by Eté (Summer), Automne (Autumn) and Hiver (Winter))
>Replied in the wrong thread Fuck my life >>1727535
>>1729950 >already an ongoing discussion in the other thread Well shit, guess I'll go there then. >>1729079 Since an anon already listed a lot, I'll say a few of the ones he hasn't said. The Dangitronpaul games if you somehow haven't played those already, also Clannad, House in Fata Morgana, and the Xblaze games. really you could've gotten most of these from the updated chart though You could also try Psycho Pass I guess, I haven't done so myself.
>>1092361 came back to cop this. lost all my folders including the "chan's recommneded charts for X" folder. glad threads dont die in this site

May I scream at the void real quick? A year or so ago I bought a 3DS cause I wanted to make the most of it's emulation capabilities and play the 3DS catalog I missed out on. Nowadays I realize how much I overestimated the 3DS emulation and how little I'm making use of it, even for 3DS titles. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret my purchase, I'm happy I get to play the 3DS catalog even if scarcely. But given I'm lacking so much on the emulation department and I'm unable to play so many good indies, I'd be lying if I said my brain doesn't occasionally say "Man, you really should have bought a Vita instead." Next time I'm getting a Vita for sure, even though I can't care less about the Vita catalog outside Muramasa Rebirth.
>>1925147 What systems are you trying to emulate? As others have said in the thread earlier, the amount of emulation coverage does vary pretty widely.
(1.21 MB 823x735 uh5jpmu.png)

>>1925192 I got to check the thread and emulation documents, but honestly, if I can emulate consoles up to the 5th generation, I'm more than happy. I assume the common consoles are already covered, like SNES, NES, Genesis, GBA... N64 and Saturn I'm not sure... but as far as deep cuts go, having PC Engine, Neo Geo, Arcade and PC98 emulation wouldn't be bad. I just think the idea of playing lots of different consoles in a single handheld sounds like a dreamy experience.
>>1925346 There's a veritable mountain of chinkhelds that emulate more, better and cheaper than the 3DS.
>>1925418 Not going to argue that, 3DS emulation sucks more than I expected. Virtual Consoles aside, the homebrew emulation is rough around the edges and the array of options is fairly limited... well, at least it can run OG Rondo, that is both surprising and sweet. That said, I don't think I'll be in a position to get a chinkheld of any kind, nor I want to, I don't trust them for a single second.
>>1925593 gook consoles are all made in China and anything that says 'made in Japan' isn't much different from a slapped on sticker that says 'made in usa', it's been like that for a while.
>>1926103 There's a big difference between an American or Japanese company having oversight over Chinese manufacturing than when Chinese control everything top-to-bottom.
>>1925147 doesnt 3ds (new one not old one) have a better cpu than the vita? it should emulate better specially since it needs to render less pixels. that is setting aside the quasi-native ps1 and psp support of the vita. my main problem with the 3ds is that I always get stressed out in bus rides about rotating its hinge to open and close it and that its not worth it for the 5 minute ride. the vita doesnt have this problem so I used it a lot more outside. and I am going to be honest with you, even at home I only use the 3ds for ds and 3ds game only. clamshell just sucks. my neck or my wrists hurt when I have to angle it right when lying on my back in bed or in sofa.
>>1926598 >doesnt 3ds (new one not old one) have a better cpu than the vita? it should emulate better specially since it needs to render less pixels. Maybe, but that's not really how it works in practice, the Vita takes the edge in emulation of most shared devices compared to the 3DS. Some devices just aren't able to be emulated, period, on the 3DS. The Vita can emulate most devices the 3DS can, as well as its own unique ones that the 3DS can't really do (like the Dreamcast emulator), on top of having edges for things like N64 emulation (though there are a lot of N64 ports for the 3DS, but a lot of those were remasters that changed things too). The 3DS only really has the edge for NDS (native) and GBA games afaik. >>1926681 >As for the Vita, it's an even worse situation to the point that it's barely better than the PSP. The PSP was one of the best emulation devices for its time though, and the 3DS is comically shitty for emulation. The only semi-realistic wish I had that the Vita could do that it can't right now was emulate PS2 games, but that might've been expecting too much. If the Vita could emulate the Saturn and the PS2 well I'd consider it near-perfect. At least its got a decent amount of sourceports and homebrew games which somewhat compensate for it. Having shit like San Andreas on the Vita is pretty wild.

I often emulate games on vita because I like the dpad, screen, buttons, shape, etc. The CPU is comparatively weak but if I can play a game at 100% speed without problems that's usually all that matters. Some snes games are better played elsewhere but others work fine, as do various other consoles. I use retroarch on vita. I'm not a fan of retroarch on PC but the standalone vita emulators seemed worse. The downside of emulating on vita is that it can't go very much above 100% speed (e.g. when I want to speed through an enemy phase in a turn based tactics game) and that some games crash when you take screenshots.
>>1928648 >What's up with the RetroArch hate they tried to monopolize "attention" and ended emulation endeavors that lasted over a decade before them they made themselves a blight on the hobby people's problem with retroarch is purely with the people behind it
