The Hundred Line -Last Defence Academy- Anonymous 04/15/2025 (Tue) 16:55:41 Id: 8dc8dc No. 1090075
8 days until release. You did preorder, right? You wouldn't want Kodaka to do something drastic.

Seems like HL will release much earlier on the Switch. A little annoying...
I fucking hate that this game exists. A worse fire emblem, another pointless not!Danganronpa game with similar plotlines when he could focus on Master Detective Archives or better yet, make another Danganronpa game. Fangames like the Another Duology and the upcoming Eden Garden, Kill/Cure or even indies like Kumitantei entertain me much more.
My hype level started off as Must Buy and it went progressively downhill the more got released about the game until the lackluster demo dropped it to Pirate Unless Proven Otherwise. I bought Rain Code sight unseen on release and was happy — even though it was downgrade from Danganronpa it was still good in its own ways; the demo makes it look worse in basically EVERY way. If the story turns out to be great then I’ll buy it and start over but based on that demo I can’t justify paying money for it. I fear the reason why Kodaka has been doomposting is because he KNOWS it’s a bad game.
(159.79 KB 2048x2048 Go03O22aoAEdMcf.jpg)

>>1135771 >the lackluster demo dropped it to Pirate Unless Proven Otherwise What didn't you like about it? I'll admit the gameplay was a little too simple for me but I enjoyed it and trailers show it getting way more complicated. I'd argue that just the demo is a cut above Rain Code but that's just me. >Kodaka has been doomposting is because he KNOWS it’s a bad game He's been begging a lot because so much is riding on this shit but yeah it's retarded. Word of mouth and streamers will help this game sell. I don't trust the opinion of journos but so far this game has received nothing but positive reviews
>>1135771 if you liked rain code your standards are so low there no way you'll dislike this game.
I'm heavily looking forward to this game. I'm pirating the XCI once it leaks so I can take better screenshots than my switch.

>>1139465 >about to complain about no digital release in chinese >check eshop prices >it's up now Fugg I've already bought it on Steam.
the GAMEPLAY looks absolutely ASS. The scale of everything is too small (1-3 damage every time seriously?) it doesn't feel good to play, Maybe the story is good and you can treat it as a VN? naaaaah it's a spike chunsoft game so the translation is gonna be super burgerized trannylation, so I won't touch that shit.
>>1139899 >Fugg I've already bought it on Steam You can still refund it, no? >>1140002 >The scale of everything is too small It progressively gets bigger but I get what you mean. I knew the demo like the back of my hand by my 2nd playthrough; too easy and seems to be designed for casuals first >it's a spike chunsoft game No
>>1140002 >The scale of everything is too small I'm pretty sure the scale will increase as the game progresses. Like for example when the game starts out with only 4 fighters, the battlefield is very small and limited. But in clips where you have the entire cast to play with at once the battlefield is huge and you have more ways to approach the fights.
>>1140048 >You can still refund it, no? Yeah but now I have to debate between which version to get again. I am not a very decisive man.

3rd Plebbit Famitsu translation. Kodaka confirmed a route where everyone lives. There's also thoughts for a sequel, so Hundred Line 2: Goodbye Despair will be real... https://reddit.adminforge.de/r/LastDefenseAcademy/comments/1k2fqw3/writing_team_interview_from_famitsu_issue_1895/ >>1140377 There's like one actually pozzed line in the demo but people are saying the localization is good in the full game. We'll see
I cant stand this kind of burgerization
>>1141396 >There's also thoughts for a sequel cart before horse >the localization is good ok Anny (TL note: anon-kun)
>>1141396 >There's also thoughts for a sequel, so Hundred Line 2: Goodbye Despair will be real... Like I said back on 4chan, this game will get at least 2 sequels for sure.
>>1141396 >The answer to the question of "what is the battle functionality of sacrificing your friends in THL?" is one that spent a lot of time in the oven. I believe that when you reach the ending, you'll come out of it feeling that this mechanic made the narrative far more immersive. Sounds like you're meant to be using those death skills but I'm still curious if killing your pawns nilly willy will affect choices/endings. >There is one stand-out character among the enemy Commanders and Oyama was excitedly imagining a story where this one wins. Hmmmmmm
>>1141396 >Sequel planned already
(191.77 KB 1200x1400 GozlOQqbcAANzeV.jpg)

>>1141422 >TL note: anon-kun Ermm she acktually says Ta-kun in the original, not Takumi-kun, so the nickname is appropriately localized considering it's a childhood nickname >>1141433 I like the idea of every character getting a VN about their past like Hiruko. I feel the more eccentric types like Yugamu and Kyoshika would benefit the most >>1141484 >killing your pawns nilly willy will affect choices/endings I very much believe it well. He did say that the mechanic makes the narrative "far more immersive" after all
>>1141540 or just write Takkun? I'll never understand why ironic weebs westoids and especially danganfags are so allergic towards japaneseness in japanese-made products despite (allegedly) being a fan. Most lines in this game seem to be unvoiced so there's no way to confirm the faithfulness of the TL by playing it in EN. but removal of honorifics, americanization of speech quirks and usage of tranny jargons are pretty much huge red flags already. Maybe if this game turns out to be actually good, I'd play it in JP, but so far the premise is meh, gameplay combat is meh and the 100 endings gimmick sounds like a tedious grind.
>>1141540 >VN Isn't it just a book? But yeah it'd be nice to have more background stuff or even what-ifs. >>1141629 If it matters to you (it doesn't) the Chinese version is similar to Takky or whatever the EN nickname is. His name is 拓海, CN goes with 阿拓 (like a-ta or a-taku). "A" is commonly used in nicknames in actual Chinese, and if they were to use a more "faithful" version of Takkun it would be 拓君, which I'm sure you can read in nip because it's also what Chinese weeaboos like to convert -kun into. So in this case every other localization has the same issue of being "unfaithful" because they're translated for native speakers instead of weebs, and I'm sure the eventual yuro and gook localizations will also have something similar.
>>1141484 >allergic towards japaneseness in japanese-made products I'm not? I'd honestly prefer if they used honorifics but they aren't, so Takky is the best choice considering their decision. I don't necessarily agree with it. You're starting to sound like a certain bad-faith poster from 4/v/ >>1141734 >Isn't it just a book? Oh, it might be actually. It says "digital novel", but I've read many people saying it's a VN. And that tidbit about the CN version is interesting, localization is very nuanced. I recently read a dumblr post breaking down how hard it is to localize Yugamu's speech because he constantly replaces や (ya) with 殺 (ya) which means to kill, so in English you'd need to find killing puns for whatever he says or something.

(865.14 KB 1920x1080 ss_2583f06a0715569f5506be6a4153b.jpg)

(245.55 KB 1280x720 unnamed-2.jpg)

actually done with the demo >humanity went almost extinct because of alien invasion >survivors are living in a shelter city, memory-wiped and oblivious about everything >kids from the city are chosen to fight against aliens in secret >aliens are actually humanoid and probably close to humans or possibly even humans themselves Ok so this is just Megaton Musashi with much worse everything? At least in Musashi you actually get to live in the town and interact with bunch of townpeople, but here you're stuck in school with other annoying kids for 100 days. Aliens in Megaton are intelligent species that interact with each other and the MC group a lot, while here they don't even speak our language AND most of them are mobs of tiny gremlin critters and little blobs. There's no way I can take them seriously. Also, combat sucks. really bad.
>>1142860 >live in the town and interact with bunch of townpeople overselling it a bit, aren't you
Chances anything will be done in terms of the trannyslation?`I dont think my N4 reading comprehension will suffice to play the game and understand it fully.
>>1143853 doubt it. dangan fanbase genuinely love this kind of translation style.
>>1141844 >Yugamu's speech Oh yeah I'm very interested in seeing what translations do for this. >>1142860 Man I wish I had the mecha tism, MM seems like a fun game with lots of customization.
(819.31 KB 1920x1080 early game map.jpg)

>>1143639 nah The town has a lot of areas, each with multiple townspeople NPCs and a lot of sidequests involving them. A lot of NPCs also have their own little story that get updated after every major story event, like an oblivious toy-obsessed boy and a tsundere girl crushing on him, or a teenage girl standing in front of a maid cafe too embarrassed to go in etc etc. The town in Megaton Musashi is full of life. Despite the similar setting/premise, 100-Line seems to be the complete opposite of that since the town is pretty much pointless. we don't even get to see it outside the animated intro cutscene.
>>1144141 >similar setting/premise Not really? The focus is clearly on the kids being brought to this random school in fuck you nowhere and finding that there's no way out. The school is the equivalent of MM's town, except it's about as exciting to explore as a MH hub.
>>1144228 >The focus is clearly on the kids being brought to this random school in fuck you nowhere and finding that there's no way out From the demo (5 hours), the premise is "live in the school, defend it from the invading aliens or else humanity is doomed. survive 100 days and you can go back to your normal life"
Thought this thread was autosaging, did the mods take pity or was it just active enough desu.
I'm worried that the combat sections will make the game drag a lot if you want to replay to get all endings
Should I buy the Digital Deluxe Edition?

When the character art released, who else had their interest level take a big hit? They’re like if you made randomized AI art from Komatsuzaki’s style instead of Komatsuzaki creating the characters. I’m not saying that’s what it is but it’s really off-putting. Why is Hundred-Line alone of all the games with the same artist which looks like this? Generic / boring / ugly etc are not characteristics I’d ever assigned to them in the past, wtf is going on?
>>1145804 They prioritized Tribe Nine
>>1145804 Rui is running out of ideas after designing over 100 characters pls understand
>>1143894 braindead faggotcucks
>>1144340 That's just what Sirei says, no one actually gives a shit about humanity and the plot will probably be more about unraveling mysteries than saving the world. It's also kinda unfair to compare a whole town populated with side quests, Level-5 style, to a school of 10+5+2. Or worse, the prologue cutscene town without even a 3D model we're not gonna see ever again. >>1144716 I just hope we don't have to play through the tutorials again, or we get to carry more stuff over for NG+. >>1145224 If you really want to give Kodaka a tip I guess, I'm sure the artbook and soundtrack'll get ripped within a day of release.
>>1115203 I'm excited for expedition 33. The devs seem to actually care about making a fun game based on what I've osmosed from threads. If my impression is right and it really is a bunch of devs that got sick of the corporate shit from ubisoft and just wanted to make a fun game then we're in for a great time. Like their no mini map due to the immersion of being an expedition comment. I saw a lot of anons pissed at that, but it signals that the devs don't give a fuck about 'accessibility' at the cost of their vision for the game. In a corporate game they wouldn't be allowed to remove things that make it less 'accessible'. That comment alone was what pushed me to preorder and I legit don't preorder anything. I also just enjoy turn based games in general so it's right up my alley.
>preordering >in CY+10 The flying fuck is wrong with you negroes?
>preordering >preordering a fr*nch game the most "based" french is still woke to some degree. it's in their genetic.
>>1146277 Shit they're ex-Ubi devs? I thought it was a random indie. I like turn-based too so all the talking about Expedition 33 made me curious, can't get it this month because of HL but I'll watch the threads when it releases.

>>1146563 I doubt it, especially with this title where the developers are staunchly against any sort of DLC. But I haven't been following the Switch 2
>>1146563 I must have misunderstood the switch titles. I was under the impression that all the games were upgradable not only nintendo mainline. In that case it's an even easier buy since it should just run better on the stronger hardware naturally when you go to play it on s2 (at least I would think)
>>1140363 is this real? i stopped playing it at the start of chapter 4. should i pick it back up?
>>1146657 From my understanding "upgrades" are game specific. Nintendo is asking you to pay to upgrade their first party games like Zelda (not to play them on switch 2 just to get 60fps). Though honestly I may just be a retard so take what I say lightly
>>1146681 I personally liked everything with raincode, but around that time it picks up more traction. The mystery dungeon is still boring as hell.
>>1146772 You're probably right. I don't see 3rd party devs making 2 seperate copies of the game. That said since 3rd psrty devs cant milk 20 bucks by gatekeeping upgrades I would think buying it for the switch would just mean it would run better when you pop it in a switch 2 similar to playing a steam game on a toaster vs a proper pc. May be wrong though I have no idea the back end of hardware/software
>>1146563 HL runs really well on Switch already, I don't think they're gonna charge you to play this turn-based VN at 60fps instead of 30 lmao. >>1146657 The other anon is right, for stuff without upgrades you'll simply be playing them as if you're playing on a Switch 1, but maybe with better performance.

>>1155165 >100 actually distinct endings This is exactly how they're advertising it thoughbeit. It's part of the reason why they needed so many different writers.
>>1155300 I'm still skeptical. It's already difficult enough for a handful of writers to write 2 or 3 coherent endings to a large-scale videogame, let alone a hundred. They'd need several dozen skilled writers and even then it'd be a herculean amount of effort to make all the endings make sense and keep everyone's characterization consistent between routes.
>>1155300 I can expect some level of difference, but "distinct "is the keyword here. I don't see how they could actually write super varied endings, 100 of them, based on routes. It also sounds like a fucking nightmare to replay through just to check variations.

>>1161376 It can't be any worse than Danganronpa got after 2, so at worst it'll be mediocre

>>1161376 I'm trying to curb my expectations. But it'll certainly be better than DR. As long as it's fun and has a good story then I wouldn't care if it's not GOTY material (RPG of the Year, maybe?)
>>1146823 The mystery dungeon is a really poor replacement for the class trial. It gives the cases a visual element which class trials didn’t have — but it’s inferior in all other ways. In a class trial the entire cast is interacting; in the mystery dungeons only a few of the cast is involved. Furthermore, exposing the murder’s inner motivation was a huge part of their character development in the class trial but which gets mostly glossed over in the mystery dungeons because the murderer is represented by an unintelligent 3rd party mystical force and completing the dungeon means killing the murder in real life so there’s never that exposition all the other games had.
>>1161376 I fear it won’t be good and the REASON why Kodaka has been doomposting begging for sales is because he KNOWS that it’s bad. I don’t believe he ACTUALLY put himself into bankruptcy-level debt over this one game, but it’s still a fact that if he thought it was a good game he would be confident in its success. The fact that he’s NOT confident in the game’s success is exactly why it makes me think he knows that it’s not his best work to put it mildly. You think of the competency crisis in game development as a Western phenomena, but it’s probably a world-wide issue. Depending on the cause of it of course. If it’s just woke culture taking over and hiring only low-IQ talentless losers then maybe Japan has avoided it at least for now. But, I’m afraid that the competency crisis is hitting everywhere and everything for whatever reason (falling IQs, unhealthy diets, microplastics / environmental toxins, etc). Or maybe the competency crisis has nothing to do with this game and it’s just a failed attempt to make a game using AI which could explain why it seems so much lower quality than Kodaka’s other recent games.
>>1161376 Think? we have a 5 hours demo. I already know it's gonna be offensively mid at best.
>>1163381 It's a new IP, that carries risk no matter the name, and it's not like he is a guaranteed super seller like some of the actually well known stuff.

>>1163983 >Rain Code It's a Spike Chunsoft game, he doesn't own it like HL. >Tribe Nine Iirc they don't own it completely either. HL is the first original project from his company that they own 100%.
>>1164083 That's fair. Kodaka has to advertise HL himself.
>>1163381 >if he were confident the game is good, he wouldn't bother advertising it! I don't think that tracks
>>1161376 I'm optimistic, but I'm going in with the understanding that he's probably talking how of his ass about variations.
>>1163381 I think he's not confident because most of his projects aren't that successful. This is also his most ambitious game ever if even 10% of what has been said about the game is true, so it's a natural thing to talk about. But also, a lot of this "If this game fails, I'll retire!" is hype talk. It's not some idea of [modern issue] you're hyperfixated on, we can see precisely why Kodaka would think the game would fail. >Objectively the largest post-SpiChun project he has worked on >Possibly the largest project he has EVER worked on >Absurd amount of planning and things taken into consideration for the game >Lackluster commercial reception to his post-DR works like WEC and RC These are key factors that cause this worry. Not the idea that Kodaka is surrounded by a billion Indians or is using AI to make his game.
Do you you guys have any ideas about some of the mysteries the game showed in the demo so far? Just curious about what others think. >Mascot being seemingly dead >Another language entirely for the generals on the enemy side >The secret they're guarding >Why does it have to be a school theme (besides meta reasons, since the characters themselves wonder about it) >Ghost? dude trying to talk to MC What comes to mind for me without thinking too much on it is around >The mascot is in fact dead, and can't be replaced by someone who just acts the same, but can be revived later, like the others, since his parts don't decay >The language barrier is gonna turn out to be some language that was used by people from some other nation, or was just the previous universal language before everything went to shit >It's probably some type of item that allows for time rewind, or some parallel world hopping stuff >No idea why they need to follow some school theming, but I think it relates to the broken down school you run into at the start >Ghost just makes me think that those who fully served don't just go home, or they're from those that died as they did their duty, and are trying to warn those who can see them of the bullshit going on There's also some allusions to VR type stuff going on, and potentially that their lives in safety were just illusions done by machines I guess.
>>1166654 >Mascot being seemingly dead He's gonna get revived or replaced, with some new route making him live. >Another language entirely for the generals on the enemy side I feel like it's them trying to hide what the generals really are. >The secret they're guarding Something with time. >Why does it have to be a school theme (besides meta reasons, since the characters themselves wonder about it) Marketing. >Ghost? dude trying to talk to MC I thought it was the sickly guy. After that it's smooth sailing because Kodaka will be able to not only say he made Danganronpa, and Rain Code, but also The Hundred Line, and was apart of Tribe Nine. I wonder if using the revival mechanic will affect the endings or routes at all.
>>1178299 Huh, I somehow missed that. Maybe those argument CGs will actually mean something, like Takumi gets to side with one of them and they compete to see which group deserves to be right. Or maybe it's just sports day, I dunno.
Maybe the Yugamu guy won't be as cringe as I initially expected. And fuck this imageboard with its post IDs and retarded captchas.
>>1178471 The game rewards getting yourself killed to pull off a super move for extra points, so I doubt it. It's probably related to the choices themselves, unless they want to do a twist where the incentivized mechanic is actually detrimental to their health long term.
>>1178586 That's unlikely as having to redo many fights to change routes would introduce massive tedium to the game, which already has a lot of it from what it seems.
>>1178511 Yeah IDs suck, but the captchas here are a lot better than the captchas on 4chan.
>>1178511 ID ironically seem to reduce potential shitposting by a lot, since retards can't go around samefagging as easily. I can see why it can be annoying though.
>>1178586 In the demo, it's impossible not to be S rank too.
>>1178678 Your rank is tied to the barrier's hp I believe. And the demo battles are very forgiving, so you have to purposely ignore the grunts and let them attack the barrier to get a lower rank. And when the grunts attack the barrier they explode so they can only attack it once. They'll probably introduce more enemies who are bigger threats to the barrier, because in the demo the only enemies who can attack the barrier are those 1 hp grunts.
In the demo rushing down the boss instantly ended the fight regardless of how many grunts were left still standing. I wonder if that's going to be a valid strategy in the full game.
>>1178772 The first time I played the dragon boss attacked the barrier like 2 times probably because of my shitty positioning, but yeah the other enemies prioritize killing your characters. >>1178806 It's kind of like FE or other SRPGs, you just gotta do what the objective says. In the boss fights it's "defeat the boss" instead of "defeat all enemies".
>>1178473 >argument CGs Yeah, it's probably from Takumi's perspective and then there'll be the option to select one side similar to how you did in the beginning of the demo >>1178511 I was worried he'd be characterized too similarly to Darumi but I doubt that now. And his speech being localized to sound like a stoner is hilarious, I can't even be mad at that >post IDs I don't mind them. It's a little embarrassing to see how many posts I have ITT but it's good for identifying people to ignore, but of course it's not perfect >retarded captchas Yeah, it barely works for me >>1178806 Like the other anon said it depends on the objective of the battle. So generally killing the boss will end the fight even if there's other enemies still alive
There was a strong narrative undercurrent of losing one’s humanity with use of the powers. I think there’s a good chance that the “good” or “true” ending will require you to not die / use ultimates.

She's using nip internet lingo here, although I wouldn't have added "like a boss" Maybe, and maybe my standards are too high, but if you can't write kids why set your game in a school? DR was already toeing that line and crossed it in dozens of ways but this would be as jarring as having a character who is a full-on greaser dancing the charleston while polishing his 1950's beamer. RO was 25 years ago. Lineage 2, the last game I can think of where PKing and PVP was a universal game mechanic instead of a zone or server-only thing was 22 years ago. For comparison, if this game took place in 2000, it would be like having a full-on disco kid walking through the halls in his platform shoes and wife beater like it was 1977 again. Even "Like a boss", that meme is over fourteen years old. I hate being "that guy" over this but if the whole game is going to be like that then I'm out.

Why do Spike Chunsoft games get fucked so hard by localizers?
>>1191328 >Many adventure games have multiple endings, but often they are abrupt, walk into a blizzard, confront an armed man with no plan, die instantly, game over. Such “bad ends” can serve as puzzles or character detail, as in Fate/Stay Night, which has three main routes, five major endings, and 40 bad endings. >The Hundred Line resembles both Fate/Stay Night and Uchikoshi’s Virtue’s Last Reward. It has routes that reveal information needed to solve events in other routes, plus a staggering number of scenarios. The developers promised 100 endings, which sounds absurd. They weren’t kidding. I saw the credits roll 101 times. >Routes are broken into many scenarios with various endings. Core scenarios by Kazutaka Kodaka include one that is probably the closest thing to a true ending, while other routes overflow with mysteries and new character focuses. The mystery routes were my favorites. I kept a whiteboard of questions across 11 categories. Sometimes I passed a choice and didn’t die, so I thought, “I’ll return for that bad end later.” Then I discovered a whole new story branch instead. Monster hunts, absurd problem-solving, coming-of-age drama, murder mysteries, horror stories, romances, comedies, this game has everything. It even features the absolute banger “Rumble” by Paledusk, which hits every time signature at once. >Nearly all scenarios are interesting and fun. A few offer quick “choice equals ending” moments, but except for one scenario, most have engaging events that justify their length. You may have heard of the visual novel Umineko: When They Cry, famous for having more text than the King James Bible and listed at roughly 120 hours on HowLongToBeat. I read it in 80. >This monster took me 133 hours. Once I grasped the route structure’s expanse, I had to see everything. The in-depth flowchart lets you jump anywhere with ease. Only twice did a route feel repetitive or redundant. One had mandatory battles I didn’t care for; the other offered less intrigue than I wanted at that point. To be fair, I had been playing nothing but The Hundred Line for more than 100 hours over a few weeks. >Right after that lull came one of the best stories in the game. New art kept appearing; the gallery lists 560 CGs, many with variations, so the art team must have worked overtime. Battles might concern you in terms of padding playtime. Except for one route, once you clear a battle you can skip it on replays and often in other routes, letting you focus on what you enjoy most. >While combat is fun and thematically fitting, the lack of map variety and obstruction hurts in the long run, making the skip button a blessing. Designing more diverse gameplay within such a dense narrative would have been complicated. Hmm. This sounds somewhat promising, but still not clear enough on how the branching works.

>Without delving into spoilers, it’s worth noting that the first playthrough is fixed for all players. Afterward, it’s possible to pursue those other endings and discover more of what the story offers Yeah, I really don't like the sound of that

>>1191506 I'm fine with it but only assuming that when you replay the game, you can branch early on and the branches don't immediately end. If you can't get to a scenario in the game three quarters in where your cast can be 80% different from the original ending and there's still more choices to be made, then I don't care. At that point, they would have been better off having fewer endings that actually mattered.

>>1191471 That sounds dumb. It would be times funnier and potentially more chaotic if those options were available from the start, and all playthroughs you see have people having this one thing different, or just wildly different from others.
Has anyone played the full game yet? Do we know how badly the localisation got fucked?
>>1191542 It either signals that the other endings are way worse than the real one, more pointless, end too fast, etc, or it signals that the developer doesn't want players to find shit out out of order. It's gay either ways.
>>1191419 >>1191462 >>1191471 There are many games that do this. Gnosia expects you to play 150+ times with distance between new information, along with the first 20 routes being fixed. That game had routes being 5-10 minutes long, but I have no idea how long 100 line routes are. Some people might become annoyed, but having the first route being fixed to set up the story isn't a bad thing.
>>1191634 >That game had routes being 5-10 minutes long This is one of the things I'm afraid of. Quantity of routes vs quality of routes.
>>1191634 Oh hey I also thought about Gnosia when I read the "have to play through everything once first" part. There's no routes in Gnosia though, most events are mandatory to progress the plot, the only difference is what order you get them in. I don't count each game as its own route cause it's just gameplay, not actually a whole story by itself. >>1191542 I was also hoping for this but oh well.
>>1191664 If there is 100 of them and most are required, then I wouldn't be mad if some are shorter. But one of the writers of zero escape is working on this, and it seems the flowchart is taking heavily from those games. That series is very well known for most bad endings having some meat to them, but there are some bad endings where it's 3-5 more lines and that's it.
(16.87 KB 564x317 The daily grind.jpg)

If I had to guess on why it needs a first full playthrough without any changes, besides them wanting you to find things out in a uniform way before being able to branch out, MC is gonna survive until near the end, shit goes wrong, they have to defend the door room, and he ends up figuring out what it is they're defending, and it's gonna turn out to be a thingie to allow for time rewind or some form of it, so MC will be purposely looking out for things he should do different to try and fix some of the issues he knows are coming, and it'll become a timeloop story or whatever. And then you'll get a monologue on the more complete endings where he wonders if this is the one ideal path to take, and second guesses if there isn't an even more perfect ending to find, and you get some option to go back and try again from the clear save file if you load it up again. >>1191664 I believe they stated that they're not looking to have those types of endings, or at least not too many of them? Hard to gauge how much of that is true.
>>1191679 It's difficult to compare this to Gnosia anyway because you can skip about a third of the events in that game to get to both sets of credits. You don't even need to fill out all the crew member pages which is the only goal the game gives you
>>1191679 Some of the events are highly specific and annoying to get, and they have information across multiple days. I personally would call some of them routes, but not all of the events would be a route since some events have more meat than others. It's hard to compare an event like Jonas and the Alien playing a game and him being caught he's Gnosia and learning what bugs truly are.
>>1191705 Actually thinking again, the item doesn't even have to specifically be related to time for it to work like that, since MC already has a weird rewind ability to retry the fight you're doing at least once, so maybe it's just a super strong power booster that allows him to go back much further.
Eh. I hyped myself up for hitting dead ends while trying to find the true route. If we'll be railroaded for 80 hours before we can start making decisions I feel like I will be burned out by then. That is unless the fixed playthrough route and the true route are not the same thing.
>>1191761 >doesn't wanna fuck >doesn't want anyone calling her a girl >occasionally just kills a dude for wanting to sleep with her which doesn't come up in the story itself even once and is mostly played for laughs Remind me why we went back into the loop for this bitch again
>>1191853 Apparently the anime is confirming the MC is a fag so they can do the female and male romance events.

>>1194697 Yeah, don't worry. Although you can't change between dubs while playing and you'll need to start the game again. I plan to switch between the two on different playthroughs
>>1194712 Let's assume beating the core route takes 70 hours on average as someone said today. That would leave about 60 hours for the remaining 99 routes. And this means that on average every alternative route will be about half an hour long, no? What do we think about this?
>>1194914 I think anyone who actually believes the "100 distinct endings" spiel is retarded
>>1194914 The same review also says there are choices that will lead into the game ending, it's just that the way to the game over has a little more meat to it compared to most that do this stuff or something. You have branching paths, one may give information that is relevant to something in another route, and can be used there or something, another is another mystery or thing going on altogether, and along the way, choices will lead into a different outcome, or even a game over. They can't go into super detail about it, but I guess the main idea is that, there will be tons of bigger narrative routes, and those routes lead into different endings along the way, or at the very end depending on what choices you picked along that arc.
>>1194914 >70 hours I imagine this number fluctuates severely depending on the kind of player you are. The Italian only has 35 hours at the time of review

>>1195270 Yes but instead of Hina it will be Kako, and instead of Toko's death picture it will be Ima's
>>1194948 Distinct can be quite subjective. >>1194993 >tons of bigger narrative routes That one reviewer said an entire game's length of path split are frequent. But what constitutes as an entire game's length here? Let's say it it's 5 hours. If we come back to our calculations and give the mandatory route 70 hours out of 130, then assume there are 6 proper subroutes 5 hours each, that leaves us with 30 hours for the remaining 89 routes. That's 20 minutes per route on average. They would need to add more than just a few instant game overs to bump that number up for the remaining routes I think. Obviously time varies a lot between players but if nobody posted both the time they took to reach the first ending and the time they took to 100% the game, this is the next best thing. >>1195077 Not sure whom you're referring to. >>1200640 >One of the main caveats of my adoration for the story is its beefy runtime. It took me around 60 hours to reach the true ending as well as clearing 10 of the 100 total endings, and this is on top of me being a speed reader when it comes to unvoiced dialogue. Approximately 25-30 hours of this playtime felt like an endurance test. The narrative is very much a slow burn, one that is stretched way too thin. My fears regarding the premise being how the students need to defend the school for 100 days unfortunately came to fruition, with plenty of days glacially spent in the Free Time sections with very little plot or character development. >Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the battle system, there are still a couple gripes I have with it, and it mostly stems from the mission objectives. There is a severe lack of mission variety beyond killing all the enemies, or taking out the Commander bosses. Any variation on these are few and far between. Additionally, the map design remains a flat terrain with almost no stage gimmicks outside extremely rare exceptions. >With that being said, the main issue I have in fights are waves within waves. Normally, waves incentivize playing aggressively, as dead units will recover and the Voltage value will carry over. AP will not carry over, so there is no point in conserving them when the waves transition. Yet later fights in the game will have Invaders spawn in at the end of a single turn, with no indication on whether a battle will have this or not. Later fights spam this constantly, and it is frustrating wasting the remaining Action Points to take out the one or two smaller enemies to end a wave, only for more to spawn in the next turn. This is on top of padding each encounter with enemies, making me grow tired of the battles around 40 hours into the adventure. >Right away, it is important to note that not all routes are created equal. Both in length and relevance to the overarching story. Some are more lore and world building focused, others center around a singular character, whereas some deviate from the plot entirely. One of the unfortunate byproducts of the 100 day premise is how the later branches feel rushed in the stories they want to tell. >Exposition dumps about world building or new characters are abundant, but we only hear enough about it to get Takumi and the player up to speed. It is the epitome of telling rather than showing. Even in the longer routes, there are still abrupt endings and the occasional, repetitive overlap of events between routes. Still, even if a majority of the routes don't reach the heights of the gripping mysteries present in Zero Escape, or the emotional impact of AI's character routes, they are substantial enough where they come close. Alright, yeah, I'm not playing this. I'll probably just watch a let's play of it at some point and read /v/ threads about it, since it seems somewhat interesting. Fine with me, means I'll have more time to dedicate to Clair Obscura.

Not staying long because I don't want spoilers but I'm around the 24th day and what I got from this game so far is EITO SUS I T O S U S
>>1254898 Speaking of references autisamurai keeps talking about shounenshit and Darumi mentioned Saya no Uta and some other VNs on day 60ish when you talk to her outside the dorms, did they keep those in the english version? >>1255610 How convenient that he's tangentially involved in all those incidents huh
>>1255368 I installed it to C:/Games, everything else looks about the same.

>10 hours playtime >1/8 gallery still less than 50% Man the game gotta be huge.

Well i'm going back to 4chan but it's been nice here too, can just use both websites tbf
Was there anything different between the demo and the full game's start? I don't want to replay it all again. Also, why can't you use the enter and arrow keys on the start menu lmao. So dumb >>1251735 Is 33 good?
Wait what the fuck you literally can't use your mouse in the PC version? Are you fucking serious?
>>1257278 >Was there anything different between the demo and the full game's start? No, not that I know of. >can't use your mouse in the PC version? Yeah, I heard of that. Pretty gay, if you have a controller you'd be better off with that
>>1257474 yeah I switched to controller but being able to click on the grid was gonna be such a plus for me, fuck
>>1257361 I think it's weird you can't use WASD in the map and have to use the map, when I'm already pressing X to go into the map.
>>1257498 You can use your mouse, just not to pan the camera.
I was gonna buy the game to support kodaka and uchikoshi and etc but they seriously couldn't be assed to implement MOUSE CLICKS?! I hope some big name is gonna @ kodaka until he implements a fix. fuck this lol how lazy can their devs get. they have time to make 100 endings but not to figure out how to get mouse input?
>>1257641 I don't even see a cursor on-screen, how am I supposed to use my mouse? Or maybe the cracked version (RUNE) I'm using doesn't yet have the "mouse update" or something?
>>1257661 You use WSAD to move the square/reticle/whatever to center it on a character and then you can confirm the selection with mouse click.
>>1257673 Right, well I'm aware of that, but usually you should be able to use your mouse to......... click squares on the grid.
>>1257646 It's probably any piracy measures, I had no problems with the game in that way.
>start game >has immediately a boy must protect girl moment I hope this gets better.
>>1257361 I was incredibly surprised by that, too. Even more when I realised arrow keys weren't bound and it was only space bar and x to enter and cancel menu options. What kind game these days does that except RPGMaker or something?
>>1257172 >I liked /v/'s chaos but I kind of prefer it here for actually talking about the game tbdesu Less shitposting = more actual discussion
Finally caught back up to the demo ending. I think the worldbuilding of this game is wack. Danganronpa was easy to get into because you have students from the real world, stuck in a school, and they have to kill each other. Here you already have a "real world" that is nothing like ours, and then you have a bunch of mysterious vague shit and THEN you have the abducted-to-a-school shit except you have walls of flame and shit. It's just not easy for the general population to relate to. >>1258676 Right? Kodaka's team is out of touch or something.
>>1258483 The fuck? How is that a valid complaint lol.
I can't tell how many layers of irony(/playfulness) Kodaka is on right now, or if he's writing this with the intention of playing it straight - I don't know which would be worse. The stuffed animal-esque mascot dies and everyone is reacting like this? Why? Any rational person would think they have backups or duplicates. This writing seems very weird; there doesn't seem to be a lot of thought put into it.
>>1258769 It shows lack of creativity. Anyway can you pause during a cutscene? None of my buttons worked.
>>1258864 Dunno about pausing, but creativity is overrated, starting a story with the tried and true is perfectly fine.
>>1257361 Huh? My mouse works perfectly?
>>1258825 >Any rational person would think they have backups or duplicates Shouma brings this up and Hiruko rightfully points out that Sirei would have came back already if that were the case
I'm already getting repeated lines in the """free-time events""". This sucks. >>1259429 Whatever it says in-game, the point is that from a meta perspective there is no tension because losing the mascot doesn't feel like a big deal and so from a writing perspective it could easily have been changed to let there be duplicates. >>1259249 For clicking on tiles in combat?
>>1259449 I'm conflicted about the free time events. On one hand, it's a 100 day game with multiple routes where you want to go as fast as possible. On the other hand it seems just there because the other games did it, but without the rank system, and compared to danganronpa, where the free times here are the same as the filler events in danganronpa, it feels bad. It's time filler. I was hoping they would be added onto from the demo, but nope. If there are better events later it will be fine, but the Garage seems mostly useless due to the war room too. Overall I like the game, but it is obvious there is a good amount of filler being used.
>>1259449 >from a meta perspective there is no tension because losing the mascot doesn't feel like a big deal You think so? I feel the stakes were built pretty well, and in regards to him being the mascot character he's way different from Monokuma. His death actually shocked me >>1259510 I agree. The FTE's feel like fluff since there are other avenues to increase your grades. They're fun but I'd also like to see more. I remember Hundred Line's xitter page showing an Eito voiced FTE, maybe it's not in the first route?
>>1259537 I hope so.
I like the second defense group more than the first.
>>1261164 I mean they are so much more interesting and defined right out of the gate. The first group is decent enough, but they feel one dimensional compared to these guys.
>>1259449 >losing the mascot doesn't feel like a big deal Almost everything that happens afterwards happens BECAUSE Sirei isn't there to tell them what to do. The plot would've gone very differently if he did have dupes. >FTE You can tell which FTEs are repeated from the first line and prompt. I think their only purpose is giving you hints on what the character wants so you can spam gifts at them.
>>1261265 now these guys actually fit in danganronpa first group saves for darumi feels like normalfags characters
Holy fuck I can't go back to 4chin's retarded captchas, this place spoiled me.

I hate to say it but it's kind of boring so far. I am only on Day 21, and I get that it's supposed to be setting things up, but it just feels like I'm waiting around for whatever's going to hook me into wanting to play.

is there any post-game dating sim mode like Danganronpa?
>>1264679 Most of the midgame is a lot of just waiting for something to happen, something interesting happens, you beat up some bosses and it loops back to waiting for something to happen while the game makes you check the cafeteria for 5 lines of dialogue everyday.
I got curious who the translators were, since a lot of conversation regarding that has been flying around, and this is what I quickly found out: Active Gaming Media, Inc. A literal no name group whose most renowned project was a game called 'Hookah Haze', featuring a transgender protagonist, and who were REJECTED from the Tsukihime remake translation, as they instead relegated only to a role of QA for it ( still pretty bad news ) Described by employees as ""Bad salary, bad management, bad atmosphere overall", it gets pretty negative feedback all around. Kodaka, because he couldn't scrape enough money, had to resort to the lowest of the low trash to get the English and other language support rolling. This is the result. Lesson? Don't skimp where it matters. https://jp.linkedin.com/company/active-gaming-media?trk=public_profile_experience-item_profile-section-card_subtitle-click To see all employees https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Active-Gaming-Media-Reviews-E785721.htm Their personal webpage opens up with a troon. >>1265295 >he STILL hasn't learned japanese This thread is only worth discussing if you're one of those EOP devs or publishers who want to bring japanese games to the west, seeking to make a profit. As a consumer if you didn't realize that it never made sense to purchase a game from Japan in english you unironically should be put in a mental institution and be prevented from any form of human contact. You are retarded, there's no other way to describe it. >but muh time constraints I don't want to be a weeb and other excuses... >>1265740 >LEARN JAPANESE IF YOU WANT TO PLAY JAPANESE GAMES OR EAT TROON DICK, NOT MY PROBLEM BTW Just because I personally can read moonrunes doesn't mean that everyone is able to. As much as a pipe dream it seems to be, people should be able to enjoy decent translations of Japanese games in their native tongue. The hijinks of american localizations most often end up being seen in other languages, since it's easier to find people who can translate from English.

>>1145804 >AI art In this game's case I think it is LITERAL AI art. >Badge on Eito's suit >the writing on Tsubasa's boob and hat Plus the lines literally have that AI post-prod quality. They clearly touched them up though and it does seem to be connected to the game's theme a little (Uchi is constantly talking about it too in interviews). I'm a little worried with this game now that I've noticed. That was before I found this thread too and found people that also noticed.
>>1264679 I was hooked the moment the invasion happened, but the art is starting to concern me. I think they went for an AI look on purpose, but at the end of the day - it still looks like AI.
>>1258825 >This writing seems very weird; there doesn't seem to be a lot of thought put into it. Where do you think you are? Often Uchi and Kodaka go loose with their writing and it's THAT which hooks people. They know people find it entertaining because it's a bit nonsensical. They somehow get away with murder that most writers cannot. I'd have more of an issue if it's bland writing.
>>1266321 This seems like way too much of a stretch to me. You're going to need some better examples other than fashionable nonsense on clothing.

I think that AI will start to play a big role in game development going forward, but I’d like to mention thar we didn’t use AI at all for the The Hundred Line’s scenario. Hollywood has been using it for ages now in their content so it wouldn't surprise me that game devs have started to use it. AI can make decent hentai maybe, but it's nowhere near ready for this scale of project and it's kinda obvious when it's used.
>>1266399 >It looks more deliberate than AI to me. I think it's AI, but it's so obvious that I thought it was intentional. It sorta creeps in over time. But now I'm reading Uchi's denials and so now I'm just getting the vibe that it's just there and they might have tried to get away with the themes in order to use it. Bit nefarious.
>>1265295 Translating in the game industry sucks, especially if you're translating from Japanese. A lot of the proofreaders I've found have tried "raising awareness about insensitive terms" when you use the exact same term used in Japanese.

>>1265457 You can't even understand the English line unless you're deeply entrenched in terminally online transgenderism.
>>1267368 They are bad at gameplay
>>1265740 People still say this line after "ethics departments" turned out to be real? Nigga they work there now. The english version is the one they typically use now for the japanese re-releases.
Y'know, I've seen people say entering the translation industry to fix it isn't feasible because it's rife with nepotism, but would it be feasible to just make your own LLC and advertise yourself for cheap to game devs who can't spend very much money?
I feel that the game didn't get published by Spikesoft due to many ideas on paper. Most maps are exactly the same, prologue is 20+ hours long, free time events are mostly meaningless, etc. On paper it sounds terrible. On practice it's not too bad.
Loving the game so far, also holy fuck
>>1259510 Yeah, so far (i'm only on day 11) it feels very shallow. I'm not "bonding" with the characters at all. >>1259537 Yeah I didn't really feel the stakes tbh. I guess I didn't care for him enough to care for his death. >>1261725 >Almost everything that happens afterwards happens BECAUSE Sirei isn't there to tell them what to do. The plot would've gone very differently if he did have dupes. Again that's more of an actual "in-world plot justification" thing. I'm talking more from a "let's think about what the writer was thinking" angle. For example, you could have just not killed sirei, and had him suddenly decide to not talk. He'd just walk around and stop giving instructions. The same set of events could have occurred, I'm assuming, and it'd be even more eerie to me than a "he's dead".
>>1266347 For me, thoughtless = bland, that's how I used the word. Danganronpa had more thought put into it as in, they tried to keep it a bit more reined-in. The madness was there but felt more planned. That's just how I felt. Somnium also needed a better editor.
>>1273613 I found it started picking up around Day 25 or so. >For example, you could have just not killed sirei, and had him suddenly decide to not talk. That's even more annoying for me. They have to nerve to repeat this "I have information but I can't/won't tell you" thing four separate times with different characters, and the fourth one's justification is "my friends said no."
>>1273964 >I found it started picking up around Day 25 or so. I see, thanks anon. >>For example, you could have just not killed sirei, and had him suddenly decide to not talk. >That's even more annoying for me. They have to nerve to repeat this "I have information but I can't/won't tell you" thing four separate times with different characters, and the fourth one's justification is "my friends said no." Is that something I haven't gotten to yet I guess? But I don't think it would have been annoying. It's like if the MC did something that angered the mascot, and then the mascot just shut up. It would be very unsettling. It's like a ticking time bomb.
I found a typo in the Japanese script... Kodaka.... your company is on the line here and you couldn't even properly check the script in day 12 of 100??? (I could be totally wrong though, someone correct me)
So far the "convincing" them section has been pretty fun. I wonder if Kodaka is gonna turn around and make us feel guilty for it later like "you convinced them to all throw their lives away!"
Day 13. It's fun how so far it seems Yakushiji is the guy who is giving you all the inside info on the other guys. Turns out Yakushiji actually cares about others a lot and bothered to learn about them all lol.

I wasn't expecting the FAKKIN rock day lol
>>1288764 >how good it gets and in what way? I forgot which day exactly but once the plot picks up it's a pretty smooth ride to the climax with barely any dead days like the midgame. If you're tired of it already though I'd say just take a break and come back later, game's not going anywhere.
wait... is this a monokuma and usami reference?
>>1289133 Thanks anon, I got to day 82 and up to now and after this it feels like it's just a standard buildup to a climax, none of the twists or story moments have really excited me too much up to now. I think it's a solid story and the characters are much more likable than expected but maybe my expectations are just too high. I'll put the game down. I am curious what the whole "routes" thing even is - loops? Other worlds? Other timelines? After story? I don't even know where the story CAN go after this. The story up to now is basically "fight these monsters" with a bunch of additions and little lore things and hints. I don't know how they CAN add routes to this.
fugged up the spoiler again, curse you halfchan muscle memory. >>1290011 >I am curious what the whole "routes" thing even is Just in case you're not actually asking for spoilers even though it's kind of obvious remember Takumi's restart battle passive? He manages to use it to restart the whole story over with all the memories of your first playthrough, then he(You) gets to make choices like choosing to kill a character or not that branch into their own paths. The second time is significantly different than the first because Takumi already knows everything that's about to happen and his actions/choices changes everything.
>>1290790 If you use Fullchan X and 8chan SS (see the /t/ userscript thread) you should be able to get spoilers the way they were working on half? Nice to see another half immigrant on here though. That's a clever way to do it, I had no idea that's how it was gonna be. Using his thing. That sounds moderately interesting but I didn't find the common route that fun to begin with so something loosely based on that isn't enough motivation to push me to continue, I think. Prob gonna drop it for real now. Did you beat the game? And how did you think of it overall?
>>1291363 My problem is I like to type [spoiler] to spoiler my whole post, but 8chan spoilers need the closing tag too to work properly. >Nice to see another half immigrant on here though. I think 90% of this thread are/were refugees, which is why it's so quiet now that that site's back up kek >Did you beat the game? And how did you think of it overall? I only finished the base route and I'm (much more) slowly going through the second route now, already hit my first bad end on day 20 something. I'm still having fun going through it semi-blind, but for now I think route 0 is probably the high point of the game, that bad end route was a little weird and abrupt and I feel like some of the writing's gonna be hit or miss from here on out. Too bad about the game, do hope you go back to finish at least the base route eventually.
>>1291441 I wish people didn't go back. I personally managed to (as another anon put it well) reset my dopamine urges when it comes to channing, so I haven't gone back at all except just to finish some business I had already started. I don't think I'll finish the game, but I just read the only VNDB review and it seems like there's some fun routes up ahead, and I would never want to cloud your perception of the game, but at least according to that one review (he's very against the game lul) it might not be worth completing the entire main story (let alone all the routes). Just in case you're a completionist, I wanted to let you know. Hope you enjoy the fun routes. Those are the main things I feel like I have FOMO on. there's a harem route, a murder mystery route, a death game route...
>>1291548 Same with the dopamine thing, I actually also went back but only for HL threads instead of mindlessly scrolling the catalog like before. The amount of activity here when halfchan was dead was pretty much perfect so I'm a little sad too, but oh well. I mean I'm already enjoying the game so far and I actually like the tower defense parts so I definitely want to at least see the main story through, but yeah I'm just gonna see how it goes later for the other routes. To be honest I'm mainly interested in Eito content but anons only ever talk about the girls so I don't know how much screentime he's gonna have in those extra routes, and from what I've seen so far it doesn't seem like a lot. >FOMO You could just watch them on youtube later I guess lmao but you might need some context from route 0's ending for some of them.

What was even the point of your posts. If you just wanted to say "guys don't buy this game because its localization is as pozzed as Danganronpa's!" why not just say so? It never stopped people from playing Dangan in English, and it probably won't stop those who really want to play from actually playing Hundred Line either broski.
>>1266375 >You're telling me they deliberately drew that shit? >Why like that? This game isn't the first nor the last to have its own made up glyphs, language characters and shit like that. Picrel is Pokémon's in-universe made up language, to give you a quick example.
I'll post some thoughts Eito sucks since he gets away with everything due to everybody else's incompetence. There are being saying hes better than Dio, which is retarded. Dio has an actual backstory and motivations outside "Kill all Humans" and is generally smarter. It's more once you figure this out in one of the earliest endings you can get, you are completely onto his ass for 75% of Virtue's Last Reward, while Eito gets new scenes. The first route's defense battles were good, but now I'm mostly tired of them, and are hoping I can skip a good chunk due to the ones I did already. They feel like a waste when I want to do more of the exploration and VN segments. The two branching route endings I got so far aren't too satisfying. They actively took a reveal and didn't reveal it in the graphic and then they spoil who it is in the ending name which is said right afterwards. Shit like that is so unsatisfying in the moment. Currently I think Danganronpa handles many things better overall. This makes it seem like I hate the game, I don't, but I am disappointed so far. There are 97 more endings to go, but I'm not sure how many I want to actually do. I don't want to use a guide, but if the two endings I got already are to say anything by, it's gonna be a lot of mid endings with some good ones.
>>1296260 There's a Virtue's Last Reward route? Damn, now I almost want to reinstall the game lul.
>>1296482 There are people on the other chan and twitter comparing the both of them due to them being twist antagonists. I wanted to complain about it since I really like Dio, even if he is lacking in some regards.
>>1297211 How is Dio a twist antagonist? Wait, are we talking about Jojo's or no? LOL
>>1297268 Some people are saying he is, but he isn't and not Jojo
Am I retarded or does this not make sense? Karua's dad swerves and they got into a car crash that killed him. He was unable to stop the car, yet was able to presumably undo his seatbelt and 'shield' her from the crash. Seems like lazy writing unless I'm being a dumbo.
>>1297368 Damn, I completely forgot that character existed in that game.

How the fuck are you supposed to prep for that second vexness fight Somehow I STILL wasn't fucking ready? I think I maybe wasted 3 or 4 sets of team training but holy shit man is it expecting me to train in other routes I went to the killing game one first. The endless waves man, they were genuinely too much
i am literally ginzaki shouma
Might as well say my thoughts so far: >Free time events are trash, they feel tact on and are extremely subpar to what Danganronpa has. The hangouts are also very mid too with the bond events. It takes almost no time to see most of them. You can see all you want to see in the route main route of the game easily. No idea why this exists outside to pad the game out with upgrades that feel generic. >Combat becomes a joke once you get any real upgrades. The skip battle is bugged too where you can do the same fight in a different route and you won't be able to skip it. >Exploration is good when you are forced to do it, but when not it sucks ass >Most of the cast is good, some are pointless memes, but most is good. Strengths is the cast and some of the story moments. I'm not even sure why they bothered doing the side content, it's so lackluster that a mod to skip all free days would be so much better.
>>1328116 >Exploration is good when you are forced to do it, but when not it sucks ass I'm at the 70-80 hours mark and at this point I'd like to either pay resources in BPs or just cheat them in. It just takes too long for 1000ish of a single resource per run
>>1328116 Yeah I don't mean to be a bummer but I dropped the game and I share lots of your complaints. FTEs suck. I didn't get far enough to make combat trivial yet but I only got to day 80.
>>1275557 I just reached the same point. Haven't been able to play much until now. I thought there would be at least one person on the net besides me who had a bit of a hard time with the Squad 2 boss fight, but it looks like it really is just me damn. >>1280189 >I hate how the characters' positions on the map aren't accurate. 💢 Also yeah, that's a pain in the ass for sure. It really throws me off during times where you can speak to the other characters to hear their thoughts and such.

>>1295544 she is literally me
>eito is the traitor imagine my shock
>>1332067 I've died once to a few of the bosses but not more I think. You can trial and error your way out of the difficulty. Are you having fun? >>1350413 It's so obvious that it because implausible I believed it wasn't the case lol
>>1351888 >Are you having fun? Yeah, for sure. I think Kodaka's idea of making the Player experience a full set of 100 days is risky because it's literally a 10-15 hours prologue that you're forcing people to go through before they "get to the actual game" kind of, but I think it makes perfect sense for a time travel/hopping to require its Player to get a general idea or basic outline of the events before sending them back to make changes. I finished the Route 0 yesterday and entered... uh, Route 1 I guess. I had to stop at the very first decision because I had business to attend to but I'm free today so I'll be spending a lot of time on LDA. Very curious to see what route I end up falling in.
>get to my first ending >it's like 2 minutes long and has a decision in it that leads to another 2 minute variant ending oh, so kodaka lied then
>>1361861 lol. why did he have to lie. is he so high on his previous success that he figured he could get away with it? >>1357431 nice.
a little jarring getting to a route that focuses on darumi after 50 hours of her being a punchline/ignored by every other character
