I'm playing with Ridgeside and the dialogue is a real struggle. A single small village having every family be from a different ethnicity is ridiculous but whatever. What is the best Stardew successor in you guys opinion? I recently played Sun Haven and I think it's pretty up there, except the NPCs are a little shallow and the romance targets are either bland or completely unlikeable. Imagine sitting on your rooftop garden, having put up acid-proof tarp and watching the acid rain pour over a sea of neon.

A beneficial force? Can the mayor be switched?). Perhaps I'm getting too granular with how these games would work in a different setting, or perhaps I'm misinterpreting "different setting" as "different scope", and treading dangerously close to ridiculous questions like "what IS a farming sim?", and "is [game] a farming sim?"

Ring Ring, Miku Calling. >>1702600 Thinking more on this idea of geographic challenges, ancient Egyptian farming along the Nile comes to mind, and I would actually be surprised if this WASN'T an idea at least tested. Something where the game works off of the Egyptian calendar- for example, Akhet drastically reduces the workable land, but it rejuvinates the soil underneath, with this season being designed to be similar to Winter in conventional games- agriculture is still possible, but is significantly less efficient than other times, like Peret, being when the river reveals the fertile lands underneath, with the last season of Shomu being meant to get last minute harvesting done. It would probably have to be gamified a bit so that way Peret is the season where crops can grow better than the normally do, but every season can have crops grow. Since it's on the equator, seasons don't quite matter as much, but I could definitely see there being an adventure in the game, letting the player venture away from the Nile, encountering many mysteries in the desert. Could even possibly go the route of having the game occasionally be closer to RimWorld in that hostile parties may visit to try and loot your farm, or indirectly have that as a thing by having it so food you supply back to the city through various means improves the efficiency of the guards- too malnourished, and if a raid comes, you'll have to pay up. If the guards are very well fed, though, then they might even be able to launch counteroffenses on bandits and hostile parties, giving the city more resources to work with and potentially upgrading facilities like the animal shop getting more interesting beasts in it, or the temple's religion becoming more refined as the Pharoah's will is being proven to be strong. History would be a very good starting point for a lot of these ideas, I think.

Anubia taxed me for the correct amount, but in the wrong category. How did she determine that a Smoked Blobfish was a Farming item? Jokes aside, it's probably certain items not having their category correctly set so it defaults to Farming. I wonder if there'd be an easier way to do this, like having the tax system check what category/ies is/are giving me money, then deduct from the same category/ies, as opposed to manually linking items. Maybe it already does this, and this is just a weird one-off.

I like a good 1v2 to really challenge myself against the computers, but that Carol CPU is trying to ride off my win! There's also this error that appears in Ancient Ruins specifically, but I'm not sure what specifically could cause it. Maybe it's the enemies? Other errors with C-Team specifically are either because I accidentally played it wrong with marriage and will not divorce any of them and typos but that feels like nitpicking, since I'm sure the mod will eventually be ironed out more. Outside of C-Team there's the Jas Marriage mod trying to modify the dollhouse with sprites that don't exist, something with the Ashley & Spooky mod that is weirdly vague, and Madotsuki probably not being updated to 1.6 code. Fun game, will get knocked into an irrecoverable hitstun off the map again.

Anyways, the island being a collectathon is an interesting move. What's a good path to unlock things, and why does 20 walnuts seem ridiculous? And don't even get me started on SVE's assumedly lategame locations. There is no swamp in the map (unless the witch's maze is meant to be that), and highlands is also confusing. Is that unlocked from being drinking buddies with Marlon? Finally, the Nexus. Didn't have a parnsip and that's a mostly useless warp, but are the other warp locations the totems which require certain items? This second arc of Stardew Valley is honestly quite confusing. Do I have to achieve Perfection in SVE and RSV in order for it to be counted for Perfection, or am I fine just achieving vanilla Perfection?
