I wasn't sure if I should ask ITT, the Linux thread or the Japanese learning thread, but in the end, I thought this thread has the highest chance of getting a good answer
So I am trying to get the first Trails game with the Japanese dub and text, as I think my Japanese is good enough. For reference I am using the GoG version as this is the one I bought a few years ago. To get the dub I used this tutorial
https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=upaUO2aw-LA which gave me the zip files(link from video description
https://archive.org/details/TITSFC) with the audio files and to get the text the only relevant one was a R*ddit post, so I apologize for linking
https://www.reddit (dot) com/r/Falcom/comments/8uqs8q/instructions_on_how_to_apply_japanese_script_in/ and also a patch to get both the audio and the text mods

I set everything up, and works perfectly on Windows. My problem is that I am mainly using Linux, so I would like to have it work on Linux, instead of dual-booting just to play Trails. So I try using Heroic Game Launcher to link to the Windows directory to directly access the files, and I only get the jp text, no audio. So I thought that maybe I should do a fresh install on Linux. I searched a bit, and found a tutorial on how to set up the audio files on Linux,
https://github.com/leycec/kiseki-linux?tab=readme-ov-file#sora-fc-dialogue using Lutris but the audio archive is missing. I tried the one that I got from the jewtube link, but it didn't work, it would not play the audio. I looked at other tutorials for the SoraVoice mod, and all of them seem to be using the same files and the same file structure as the archive I already have, so I don't think that's the problem. I tried configuring both Lutris and Heroic Game Launcher in all sorts of ways, but nothing seems to be working. I know I could also use an emulator and play the Vita JP version, but I much prefer the PC portraits, plus it shouldn't be that hard to get the audio working(I will worry about the text later). Again, it works on Windows, but opening the files using proton, seems to not work. Is there something that I am missing? Did anyone do this in recent years and get it to work?
