Dolls Nest Anonymous 04/23/2025 (Wed) 16:08:49 Id: 4e71b9 No. 1227455
Dolls Nest by Nitroplus is out. I expect a lot of anons are going to play it. I've just downloaded it, but I'm still at work for a few more hours... The demo was a bit clunky but I liked it a lot still, so I have really high hoped for the mechamusume souls.
Fuck, this just had to come out while we're down, huh? Ahh well, great news, time to go download it, thanks for the heads up, OP.
>>1227455 Played the demo during the steam next fest. Didn't end up liking it that much because I remember they teased a boss fight and cucked us right before it. Will pirate it and see
>>1227455 Also important news for Muramasa fags

Which one bros?
>>1227565 I'm going for a light spidermech, seems like the best of both worlds except for exploration since the jump seemed to be shit in the demo.
>>1227565 based on the demo weapon wise the sniper rifle is the best, but it's a bit cost inefficient to use so you can't use it on every regular enemy you see armor wise the melee/shotgun set was the best mobility which is pretty nice.
>>1227455 link?
You guys didn't die to the first boss like noobs, did you? I'm noticing it's balanced somewhat different from the demo. A bit easier. Also, it looks like the absurd amount of weaponry strewn about was to give us a taste of it. >>1227565 I went with the balanced option because I did melee during next fest and it was so bad I had to restart. I picked sniper that time, but I didn't really like it.

reminder for anyone who didn't play the demo about the hidden doll joint body customization option you can find after the first tram ride
Fuck. I really want to play it but I'm busy.
>>1227455 Can you import your save from the demo?
>>1228420 No. Things seem to have been rebalanced and a lot of the weaponry in the starting area was just to let people play around with them.
Ahh yes, perfect.
Oh no. Not again.

Is it fun so far? How's the performance?
>>1230111 running it on a 7900xtx and an i9 13900KS, native 4K, i'm getting these not so much stutters but definite dips in fps at seemingly random times. i dunno; maybe it's the particle effects.
>>1230111 >>1230301 Similar, I'm running a 6950XT and an R9 3900x and I get occasional stutters that seem to be related to certain animations. Also, breaking boxes still causes weird performance drops just like the demo. That said, it does seem to run better than the demo at least, and they definitely made some changes to the map design and the lighting.
>>1230111 Running it on a RX 6800 XT on Linux at 1080p. Works pretty well, but as the other anon said, boxes and map reloads wreck the framerate for a few seconds.
>>1230375 >they definitely made some changes to the map design What kind?
How does it run on steam deck? I know the demo ran pretty good but could have been improved
>>1230492 At least in the demo area I've come across some new areas that I hadn't seen before, so maybe I just did a shitty job exploring the map originally.
>>1228978 I actually had to go back to the hub and take the middle tree instead of the left because I could barely damage this thing with tier 1 weaponry. I got fwoom fwoom fwoom'd hard. Anyways I'm done for the day. Too tired to play more.
>boring environment >small enemy variety >not that much customization >generic sound assets they should stick to VNs
Any permanently missable stuff? My autism is making me hesitant on progressing.
(2.25 MB 1920x1080 Screenshot (200).png)

How do I get to the other side where those items are? I swear I remember reaching there during the demo but I don't remember how...
>>1232519 You need to play longer.
>>1232533 in the demo you had to jump and hover across. I forget the specifics to how exactly. but that connects to the red barrier by the munch munch girl so I assume that's the intended way to get there
>>1232626 It wasn't possible to do legitimately, you needed cheat engine to prevent your hover meter from going down. There's more than just that one red barrier in the game, you're clearly supposed to come from the other side.
it seems this will be the last game Nitroplus ever makes
>>1232782 they've been bleeding devs, the new Muramsa project had it's director leave, so it's probably in development hell. Urobutcher doesn't make VNs anymore.
>>1232683 You apparently could do it without cheating by purposely overweighting yourself, or something strange like that though personally I just cheated like you said
There's a hidden path right under this hole right after the first tram ride
>>1228948 This guy was my first death only because my mom decided to randomly invade my home at 1am just to be annoying and the game could not be paused

anyone found out how to get past that red wall? dunno if that was ever possible in the demo >>1234007 I've had that issue too
i HATE the slow movement of the mouselook on the left and right HOLY SHITTT
>>1234508 It's how they implemented turn speed limits. Trying to go beyond what your handling can handle kills the momentum.
I'm mad that they took the demo down, I was going to try it but never got a chance to.
>>1234667 Huh, not sure why so many devs do that, it's a pretty good demo too, only issue is that they don't seem to have fixed the performance issues that the demo had.
>>1234159 There's other red walls in other areas past the first one, so I assume the ability to bypass them is something you unlock later on. >>1234508 I had to switch to controller, shit's too irritating on m+kb.

Do the guns feel better than the demo on release? Shooting with them felt pretty flat and a lot of them were balanced rather poorly in the demo
Talk me out of doing a 2kat build again like I beat the demo with.
>>1234886 Either the Javelin beam sniper or the AwlPike physical sniper, plus the 3-round burst grenade launcher. How do you get more skillpoints?
(826.07 KB 2560x1440 20250423230803_1.jpg)

anyone find out how to open this one way door in the middle tree route? The end of the area goes in the opposite direction and you can get a good look at the outside walls of the area so I have no idea how you would get in there >>1236251 you find some nerve item, give it to the speared lady in the hub, then she lets you buy more 5 more skill points for 30k each. The merchant in the hub sold me one, but that might have only been after killing a boss. I also found one by going back to the middle tree area after I killed the boss and the soldier girl near the shortcut was missing and the merchant not far from her was dead. Looking around the a spot I already checked had a player type enemy now so I assume that was the NPC. She dropped a nerve and when I went to turn it in the speared lady asked if I went on a massacre so I'm not sure if I fucked up an NPC questline or if that's supposed to happen.
>Late to the party Fuck working 2nd shift, Ill join you fine folks after a shower.
>>1236333 Hmm, weird. I went back to that area with the dead merchant and didn't have a hostile NPC, but I already ran into the blind soldier girl in another area before going back, so maybe it's her.
(2.71 MB 1920x1080 Screenshot (204).png)

>>1236333 I'm in that same area, are you supposed to jump from here to move on? Also is the middle tree route not the first place you go to? I assume not considering how tanky everything is
>>1236460 the enemy was pretty far from the dead merchant, over on the one rooftop you can reach. It's possible that there's some other reason it didn't spawn the first time I was there. I also had a bug where when you get to the bridge and go back inside and climb up some stairs at the top of that room the game bugged out and I clipped through the floor, and when I climbed back up I could lock on to an empty spot of nothing. If that's where you saw the blind soldier the second time then I probably fucked up (by which I mean the game fucked up through no fault of my own) >>1236502 no, that area is optional and there's another entrance to it. That area is pretty mazelike but if I remember it correctly I believe there should be a narrow passage around right behind you. You should also be able to hover over the large gap in the floor to your right and reach the ledge that has the asshole shooting at you on it.
>>1236558 >I also had a bug where when you get to the bridge and go back inside and climb up some stairs at the top of that room the game bugged out and I clipped through the floor, and when I climbed back up I could lock on to an empty spot of nothing. I actually just ran into that bug at the 4th tree in the big generator room with the 4 different paths, I think that might just be a general bug.
I need a name for my doll.

I couldn't bring myself to not give Yoyo some food, but I am curious what she says if you don't?
>>1236869 I meant a normal enemy but you seem to have found the right way to go anyways >>1236882 I tried in the demo and she's a bit sad about it but you can talk to her again to feed her properly I'm not sure if you need to beat the boss of the area or just feed her and touch a tree but the bars go away and you can go back there yourself, Just a dead end with a kind of crap weapon to find

Fuck it, sword time. >cleared that platform with ~7 enemies in one 'combo' first try with starting gear Did they make the basic smg bots weaker/less accurate or am I still FIGJAM after 8 hours in the demo?
waiting for the crack because i have no money. i will buy next month if i really like it.
>>1236926 I tried out the left tree with the upside down looking city in the sky, those machines with the homing attacks just melt me down like nothing
>>1236952 I think they have less tracking now. In the demo it felt like they had a similar system to the player where after looking at you for a bit they got a lock and tracked your movement better, but now they either don't it takes so long that you kill them first.
(2.68 MB 1280x720 2025-04-24 01-03-39.mp4)

First design attempt. I rushed to the spot across from Yoyo thinking the first grabbable sets would still be there. Guess it's time to explore!

>>1237044 Go beat the boss, there are quite a few cosmetic sets at the merchant

Mass flight and lightweigth frame a best. >>1228351 Wow, I had completely missed that in the demo. Would've missed it again too not for you.
Did they improve weapon handling since demo? Can you actually dodge enemy attacks now or still stuck tanking the homing projectiles? Writing any good? Im still on the fence

>>1237712 forgot my image >>1237716 Oh, tracking not homing. Yeah their 'computing' stat was borked in the demo. You had to break line of sight regularly (including out turncapping them) to reset their lock.
>>1237736 Cool Sekibanki
>>1237637 The starter AR is really good, but you also want to try out shotguns and sniper rifles as well. I don't really mind it when the starter is very reliable though. I recall the flamethrower being really strong for triggering a status effect as well, so burning enemies and then swapping back could take down big enemies fast. I just unlocked a burst fire bomblet launcher that area damages a lot if you're above them, so that's fun.

Game runs alright on the deck so far, main issue seems to be effects. The effects cause bad stutter no matter the setting, and these big burning piles of debris rape performance when they're on-screen. First screenshot is medium settings at 720p, second is absolute minimum at 540p. When this burning debris isn't on-screen the 720p shot runs at 50-60 FPS. Seems like one of those issues with UE4's default effects being shit and extremely demanding, like its default TAA. Here's hoping they can fix some of these performance issues, but I won't hold my breath on that.

>>1240757 For normal encounters, there's options that make it somewhat less shit. Turns out they never really gave us the actual melee-specialized equipment in the demo. That said this game doesn't let you pick one set of equipment and call it a day. It wants you to kit yourself differently depending on the situation. So if you try to play the whole game with only a sword, that's not going to work.
>>1241006 >It wants you to kit yourself differently depending on the situation. Really feeling this after going left then middle. They really specialized the enemies to encourage building the right resistances for each route depending on whether they deal phys or thermal, and my sniping doesn't work nearly as well in the claustrophobic middle route. Once you get to the hub, which of the three areas should you do first?
>>1264872 Doesn't matter, they are all about the same in terms of difficulty. Left has annoying enemies that like to jump around and flying ones. Middle has tankier enemies, some with front facing shields so you want to shoot their backs. Right has poison spamming enemies and enemy spawners. There is an NPC that moves between the routes though. She's the pilgrim you find behind a big door in the starting zone, I first found her on the right, then middle, and after that, I couldn't find her again. All other NPCs stick to their routes.
>>1264903 >Left has annoying enemies that like to jump around and flying ones. >>1264903 Aurum pilgrim girl, right? I actually didn't run into her in The Great Forest. missiles use up so much ammo but the accuracy is so fucking shit
>>1267369 I used the basic shotgun but it took awhile and had to be very carful since once her recovery from the slam is over she pulls out her own shotgun. I heard someone say the corrosion AR worked pretty good so maybe try some status effect stuff. The best tip I have is to boost in the opposite direction that you're moving to dodge her shotgun shots. Or maybe try jumping, but the point is that if you boost in the direction you're already moving it seems like her tracking is pretty good so you have to change direction. Also that she seems to shoot in groups of 2 on the ground or just a single shot in the air, but she can choose to shoot 4 or 5 times in a row before doing another slam.

I will say, I'm glad this area was relatively short, because god damn do I hate super dark areas where I need to use consumables to see. Truly, the worst bug in the game is Equip Preset not sticking.
>>1268563 Locking on just means that your aim now factors in enemy speed and projectile travel time. It doesn't help against enemies that move erratically, or if you yourself move erratically. Shooting without locking on means the center of your aim is always on the opponent. When you factor in cone of fire, most bullets just don't hit shit.

I'm mobilitymaxing so dodging her shotgun attacks isn't as hard for me as long as I'm not too close, but the tip is to redirect when she's about to fire. While proceeding through the Arboreal Nest I found another NPC, someone called the Coward. After exploring a bit, the Investigator is also nearby. >>1271553 Nah, my arrogance was my downfall and when I came back she was like, "I will not fight you. I have already won. You face now only a ghost of fate." I've been getting this glitch where the enemies become buddies sometimes, as well as phasing through walls and floors. The game reloads you to your last posistion if you quitify so there might be no way to escape softlock if you get stuck without a way to end yourself, since the game has no homeward bones/darksign. The world design was way better than I expected but I still often threw myself heavensent on the shotgun express to skip the backtracking. All the bugs so far have only improved the experience; the cube factory being invincible gives that boss some attitude, and it feels like the intended way to kill it to just deal enough burst damage in one hit to chunk through the shield into the armor. This game would be hugely improved at little development cost to add a challenge option where the enemies' cooldowns are reduced and fire-rate increased and I wish I could beam those thoughts into the dev's heads. Legs are Shamalform, the pieces of which are spread out and hidden above the path in the upturned forest.
>>1272382 I had that happen and my game didn't load the level properly when I booted it back up but then it went back to normal. If your save is stored outside the game folder you could try reinstalling, or otherwise find the save first and copy it.
>>1272553 Already tried reinstalling, found others with the same issue on the steam pinned topic, it seems like a save issue. I tried copying saves and the files around but nothing's working. At least it's booting up and going through the starting screens, but as soon as I try to get to the title screen it crashes with the same error. I sometimes manage to get to the title screen but as soon as I try either Continue or Load Game it crashes. I disabled Steam Cloud I pirated the game for now but I plan to buy it on steam later so I can't roll back to an earlier version. This would really suck if I lost all my progress.

Any tips for the Upturned Forest? I'm having a hard time with all the flying/jumping enemies. Should I use different weapons or parts?
>>1273738 The grounded homing enemies' tracking depends on range, which is kind of bullshit since it means they're actually shotgunners in disguise, Keep your distance or you can't dodge their attacks. Upgrading your character's weapon skill increases accuracy which makes it easier to hit the fliers. You might want to just run past the fliers though. They're only dangerous when you're boxed in.
>>1273738 >Should I use different weapons or parts? Yeah, probably. Looking at your gear >not maxing thrm res in thrm weapon land >Calrog headset's target area is small, so it's hard to keep a lock at the close range your SMG demands >low ground mobility in close range kit >SMG is kinda weak anyway >GL eats a ton of BP and fires way too slow to justify bringing it I ditched rear weapons entirely and just took the Javelin, but better synergy overall can make close ranges work

>>1285373 I just toughed out the corrosion and ran around chugging healing pots whenever necessary. Tried to get the best corrosion resistance and mobility possible and made a beeline for the enemies and killed them off one-by-one so I can explore in peace (except for the occasional cannon fire from the gigabot). What surprised me though is that the corrosion immunity potion apparently doesn't work. Or maybe it does, but I have to take it before I get even an ounce of corrosion. From what I know there's only one key item there anyways, though maybe there's frame data and weapons I missed. >scout the place out from the above There's the skybridges that have enemies, you'd want to kill them off anyways before exploring otherwise you risk having a gazillion bombs on your ass not including the one from the gigabot. I've already gone through 4 bosses on left and right trees and those still haven't opened.
>>1286357 There's only two NPCs she can kill before throwing down with Volg, and neither of them are important in any way.
Does anyone know where the optional nymph fights spawn? I could only find the one in the Accumulation Zone.
>>1286494 Cavern: Near yoyo, behind the red wall. Depths: Near the start of the level, go forward from the tree and you'll see her pretty quickly Ark: Along the main path. Does not require fighting the boss first so you should find her the first time through. Upturned Forest: Side building by the second fairy circle. There an entrance below the main path you can drop down to. Fault: Room with storage boxes at the top of the level. The church is the closest shortcut if you have good jump height. Water Treatment: Large angled bridge right before the boss. Great Forest: Side rooftop near the robot you can place the talking head on. Pretty far from any shortcut but I guess the fastest way is jumping down from the fairy circle. Arboreal Nest: Right past the first triple grenade tank. First fairy circle should be the closest shortcut. Bridge: In passage number 6, up an elevator. Accumulation Zone: Field of flowers near the second spider spawner. Forbidden Domain: In the boss arena. Tomb of Divine Wisdom: Down the ramp from the tree and roughly straight ahead. Moves around a bit.
Am I missing something? The 2nd boss in the middle tree almost has 100% uptime on the shields. Sometimes it does go down but it goes back up immediately.
>>1287044 It's buggy, unsure if it's a visual glitch or not. One of the spheres is meant to be unshielded. I hit the one that was supposed to be unshielded with a melee weapon and that dropped the shield.
>>1287044 bugged. I've heard if you use splash damage from an explosion it should still hit the boss and fix the buggy behavior.
>>1287070 The explosions worked! Thank you! Had to use a missile rear weapon a few times to "un-bug" it, then just wailed on the sphere when it's shield is down. Had to do it one at a time instead of running around looking for the unshielded core as was probably intended. Also stacked up on Phys Res so I was able to practically shrug off all the explosions from the building up crowd lol.

Is this one meant to be passive until you attack her? Maybe it's just Gardinans who shoot first.
>>1287155 When I first entered that room, it attacked me before I even saw it. Probably one of the numerous bugs in this game that causes enemies to randomly not attack you.
>>1287186 I thought there was a chance it was because I was wearing an Alqand frame (and/or body). I swapped out to another set and she attacked me immediately, then swapped back and same thing. Alas, I thought for a moment it might've been a neat thing.
>>1287198 That would've been pretty neat. I do wish we got some more to chew on for the game's story/setting, it's actually pretty interesting, but most of it is constrained to item descriptions. Who knows, hopefully it does well enough for them to do some more with it later on.
>>1287198 That might actually be the case then, and if it really is then that's a really neat detail the devs added in. If you've got time, you should experiment with the other optional combat Nymphs and see if they're not immediately aggressive.
>>1287209 I'm not even done with the game yet and hoping there's a sequel. Maybe with Souls-style PVP included >>1287227 More likely just a bug, if my "same thing" was misunderstood, she attacked me again with the Alqand set. The only way I can see it as potentially intentional would be if she saw me in Alqand gear, assumed friendly, saw me in Takama and flagged me as hostile and the flag stayed even when I swapped back. I will test with other nymphs but I'm thinking just a bug.
I haven't seen anyone mention it but it seemed obvious to notice for me, but the final area of the first set of levels links up to the start of the second set. I couldn't find any other areas that do that, though I know I missed a lot. How much of all this is connected?
>>1286908 Thank you! >>1287329 >I'm not even done with the game yet and hoping there's a sequel I'm hoping that the news of them adding collab stuff with Demonbane/Muramasa means that they'll add more than just new weapons/armor. I'm assuming this is when the 2nd phase transition is supposed to happen, but for some reason it's waiting for it to take damage instead of just immediately happening lol. Am I supposed to go deeper into The Ark after clearing the three new areas? Or can I immediately go there and bumrush the ending? Also, the tall enemies in The Ark look enough like Nymphs that I don't want to kill them, but if I have to kill them to proceed into the area that has a barrier deep into the Ark then I must. Also, the parasites in the Tomb of Divine Wisdom are fucked up. I didn't realize it at first, I had to zoom in with my sniper cannon.

So you get a gatling gun for killing tank girl. I should've been murdering harder; the npcs are much more fun to fight than in souls. I spent the whole game drooling at that thing sitting behind the mechsmiths wondering where it was hidden. Deep clip and good damage but terrible accuracy and painful reloads, and your nymph likes the sound it makes.
>>1295631 Bro you could have just bought it off her...
>>1295655 I was going to respond by posting a clip of the scrap girl getting pulverized but I had the game on the wrong monitor, which suits me perfectly.
>>1295804 >pulverized ...sexually?
>>1295861 That depends upon how much you read into an all-female race's single-minded interest in dominating each other with superior weaponry. Incidentally I was thinking about the ending, and maybe I'm the last to get it, but I think I chose the bad one by mistake. There's no ambiguity in the fact it's a world of endless violence and Nehma hates that. So randomly murdering your fellow nymphs might be the most optimistic action you can take.
>>1295631 >>1295655 I don't mind a bit of spoilers, where/who do I get that gatling gun from without killing fellow nymphs if possible?

>>1296045 Talk to the tank girl in the Accumulation Zone. When you spawn in, she is in the route behind you. Progress to the level with the cross-map sniper, speak to the tank girl again in this level, in the room up the ramps at the end of the tram ride. Progress to a slightly later area and meet her again, in a small hut in the middle of the map. Return to the are with the cross-map sniper, find the breakable wall and bait the sniper into shooting it, or just break it yourself with either melee or powerful explosive back weapons. Grab the items within. Continue until you reach the warp tree for the area with the hut, and talk to the tank girl and hand over the letter. Return to the hub and she will have set up a shop. Rejoice now that someone will take care of the little ones in your absence. Ffffffffffffucking spoilers not carrying across newlines. Last attempt. Blame the admin if the spoilers don't work now.
>>1296106 No, you just have to kill it. There's a walkway that gets you close enough to fly over unless you're using the slowest and heaviest frame possible, you don't have to kill any of the enemies on the way, just don't stop moving, but don't rush either.
>>1296114 Oh I didn't even know you could kill it. I tried hitting one of its legs a few times and it didn't seem to do anything.

>>1296102 >Continue until you reach the warp tree for the area with the hut This is the part confusing me, are you talking about the weird sewers close to the transport pad? >>1311799 >>1311914 Stay away from her until she smashes the ground. Hit her back. Repeat.
>>1311940 Yep. I also found that her shotgun shots have some big space in them at long range. I could just dodge in the same pattern for most of the time. For some reason her reload animation deals damage on the part where it looks like she parries with the shield.
>>1311945 If you stick close enough, you'll keep her from spamming shotgun in the first place, but she usually fires them at bursts of of 5 at most (in sub-bursts of 2, so 2-2-1). Though there is a risk of her firing a shotgun after a downward smash. >>1311940 If you're feeling brave, you can just stick close enough to her until she does her one-two hammer/scythe swing. Those are pretty easy to dodge, then in her short cooldown you can even hit back with a melee of your own before she goes flying. Admittedly I died once or twice before I figured her out.

Scopedog build. I need a better cannon but it works. I may pull out the sniper cannon just for boss fights. Upgrading the battle rifle turns it into a usable sniper, which make up for the low ammo count.
>>1315091 I like the Voctal Head here because it feels like Reimu has had enough of Youkai Nonsense™and has decided to go full One-Miko-Army on their asses. >>1317637 Smart choice of making the Humanoid parts colored after the AT pilot suit. I want to make a Dom cosplay just because of that LPR Bazooka.
>>1316079 I tried using both of the greatswords (the physical one and the thermal one) at the same time, and you'd really prefer to have a mobility set and rear arms as your ranged options for certain enemies like the walking landmines in the middle tree. I used one of the quadruped mobility frames, I can't remember the name or where you get it but it's the one that has 20k~ jump boost, then I stacked up physical/thermal defense for the rest depending on the enemies. The quadruped legs are great since they have great mobility and handling. For the hat I think I went with Kashima as a nice compromise between Computing and Melee proficiency (the Takama has the best afaik, but Kashima has the 2nd best out of what I had at the time). For rear arms I took the physical sniper and either an autocannon or a missile launcher. I had to take my sweet time taking out enemies though since both greatswords have ridiculous recharge times, and I didn't really save on EP either since rear arms are just way too expensive. >>1315091 I forgot that exists, thanks. I actually burned through 99 Luminous Ore just going through the first set of corridors in The Depths, thankfully the rest of the corridors aren't even half as long combined.
Tried to make my own little battle ballgown princess or knightess as my final build for now. Think it works well enough. DolaGanz and GanzGanz are really good weapons and I wish you got them sooner. Only complaint is that I think the reload for the GanzGanz should be swapped with the DolaGanz. The extra 100m of range and upped single-instance damage isn't worth an additional 1s of reload time, leading to you using the GanzGanz over it outside of economy situations and niche zones like the Tomb of Knowledge. Using APPL as a lance for thematic reasons and because barrier cheese, plus it ain't half bad. It got me through the Ark, the Bridge, and is getting me through the final zone of the left path. Stats are all-rounder focused with good jump height, a boost speed of 64kmh and 32kmh walk speed for good level navigation, the shield for OH SHIT moments, and a decent amount of bulk. Think I'll be using this build for NG+ and beyond for sure. Surprised I haven't seen more people using the big fucking guns on middleweight mechs.
>>1319088 This is perfect. I had the same idea for this weapon and some quad legs, but more pink colored and with the knight armor clothing. Too bad I didnt save her.
>>1319088 >a boost speed of 64kmh and 32kmh walk speed I don't think I could possibly tolerate going that slow. Outside of Blue Zone I even drop the Sabi for an extra 2 km/h because too many enemies keep moving when overheated. I swap out the nonfunctional UT for the long invisibility one when going through The Bridge, though, which requires slightly beefier legs. That place is just total ass with all the trees.

>Cant ride the rails with skate wheels Fucking lame.
Well, managed to beat the game. Yeah this is definitely the Demon Souls of Armored Core likes. Best way I can sum up my experience. I liked it a lot and will probably go back and do NG+ and more if I feel like playing a mech game again or want to make more cute mech girls. Quite surprised most people chose to embrace Nehma at the end going by steam achievements though, fuck that bitch she tried to kill my mechfu. And besides, matricide is a sign of "healthy metabolism" after all. I'm going to have to dock points for the game not letting me give Elp a big hug though. >>1320516 I'll take a bit of bulk and good jump height over going fast. I also made the build as an all-rounder of sorts using those voctal legs, which also give good hover distance. The only part of the build that really sucks is the air speed, but it's enough to glide to most items in the game from what I've seen. Going any faster would make aiming too much of a pain with my tinier aim zone too. Not that lock on is really needed with the Ganz-series of weapons. Things are stupid accurate. >>1311914 Love that this game lets you get pantyshots on all the outfits it can be done to, incredibly soulful in this day and age of excessive transparency and shoving the camera up your character's rear.

Has anyone tried melee only run?
>>1329054 Don't do it lol, it's probably really really tedious if you're doing it from the very start. Even with your starter melee weapon you'd have to stab even the basic mob on their weakpoint otherwise you're left to dodge for your cooldown. Also Melee is just not an option for certain bosses like the ones in the left tree. Although I used the greatswords which have the highest cooldowns, especially the Thermal charged greatsword which has double the base cooldown of the Physical charged greatsword. Even with that I can't reliably one-shot bigger mobs unless I run behind them, and the Melee Proficiency on your headset can be the deciding factor between you one-shotting an opponent or not so you're stuck with the Takama or Kashima or whichever has the highest Melee Proficiency out of your headsets. On the plus side the three other headset stats shouldn't matter if you're doing melee only. But you'd still need some ranged options through your Rear Arms, but they're still very expensive per shot so unless you absolutely don't use them, you won't actually save on EP and supplements.
>>1329054 Ignore the other guy, it's based as fuck if you git gud. After 8 hours in the demo I could clear the entire map in one life with them fairly quickly, even with the pre-nerf aimbot AI. Just running 2greatsword got me through middle and right, but I had to take some rear missile launchers to mop up those stupid flying spark plugs. Every boss I couldn't physically reach to stab in my sanic gear was just a matter of swapping into the highjump gear. Like the other guy said, you are stuck with a stupid fucking rice hat, but with that I reliably 1hit basically everything even without crits. What really saves my ass is the shield utility you get fairly early on. You can pop it if you whiff to cover you until your swords both cool down.

>>1353639 i think she derides you regardless I killed the shop keep in the Vault and the 2 dolls next to an elevator on Newgame+ to see what happens >I felt real bad for killing the defenseless one and some nothing item >I got some guns and armor i missed for killing the armed ones
if you kill the girl on the throne in Water Treatment after main boss of that stretch you get a Nerve Sample
Anyone remember where you can get the physical sniper rear arm weapon? The one with 3 ammo capacity
>>1357485 Arboreal Nest, outside the door leading to the first bulk of drones when coming from The Great Forest.
>>1353177 using it currently, feels great 1-shotting even the big bastards in The Bridge. recharge doesnt matter, melee weapons recharge even when you swap primaries, so shoot away while you wait
>>1237323 I will now attempt to answer this. By nature fetishes tend to be disgusting, but doll joints are the opposite of that, and there is a crossroads between someone losing to their base chemical urges and burning out their brain, and someone else trying to find greater appreciation in something's aesthetic nature. Your ideal is an important part of your soul; there's a thesis written by the russian orthodox church around the time the commies were dismantling them about the importance of irrational ideals towards pragmatic purposes and even the commies admitted they were right. The anime girl ghost standing next to you that would be disappointed if you did something bad while no one is watching, allows you to decide on your own terms who you want to be. So then anime girls, I say as an artfag, generally have simplified anatomy compared to a human -just as humans are the only creatures that maintain breasts outside of pregnancy because higher intelligence is necessary to find value in their roundness, seeing the bones of the skull perfectly aligned to all-encompassing curves is a sort of brain candy. The doll joints represent the ideal of simplicity and though they're inherently nonsexual they also get your creative urges going because if you can rotate the apple in your mind you can pick up the doll jointed girl in your mind a do a physics simulation. There's also the interest all humans have in seeing something familiar made interesting again, so the doll girl has the advantage of looking like a person but doing things you don't expect and thus find amusing. So I guess, they're inherently an ideal form. Also I thought it would be easy to find the herta walking away gif but they're all downscaled or watermarked. I swear I saw people post it all the time.
>>1357485 behind the great forest boss
>>1227455 Looks fun, I'll give it a try, also Nippon game. >>1228351 >>1233749 >>1237433 Sexo
>>1358266 >>1359159 Oh okay, thanks.

>>1359090 >Also I thought it would be easy to find the herta walking away gif but they're all downscaled or watermarked. I swear I saw people post it all the time. This one?
>>1361567 Yeah, that works. When it's downscaled the gif dithering gets really bad. If these hosting sites want to screw you they could at least store it as a video and reencode it to a smaller gif.
(238.83 KB 3440x1440 Upgrade Twins.jpg)

How come no one told me the twins come with rear seat airbags?
>>1363679 Hot. Is that with or without the twins mod?

>>1364180 I honestly can't remember the last time I modded anything; that's me positioning my character and moving the camera, just right, to clip through things. I miss when game camera's weren't worthless.
the devs seem to always hire just the right people to do their music Schizophrenia and Into the Sky just seem to really dig into ya and fit the tones so well in their games
>>1367965 i love the ost as well just beat the games very nice I used this frame at the end
>>1368078 dat ass
>>1368105 i love that body also i cant wait for more mods I wanna see the wacky shit that they will add
>>1368112 From the surprisingly regular threads on halfchan, I'd hazard this is turning out a lot more popular than the producers expected. Hoping for an expanded scope in content, maybe a sequel.
>>1368112 i have nexus up every day eagerly waiting to see what people can produce >>1368118 just make it an expansion some of the weapons need some fixing and quad leg animation hopefully a lot more bodies to dress up our girls in mod or expansion
I hope they fix the crab leg animations.
>>1368159 Tiny dev team previously making VNs prease understandu. They sure are floaty as hell though.

Finally. I'll never doubt melee again.
>>1368078 this is who i finished with >>1368244 been using it more in NG+ after you get used to the hit reg it's hard to not carry one melee
>>1367965 Is it good old ZIZZ STUDIO this time as well?
One thing i wish that the two legged wheeled frames would make the nymph look like shes rollerblading more than just being rolled along it would be cute to see
>>1368078 >DP 52288 What the FUCK
>>1369713 lmao, well i did upgrade the mobility unit to the max
shit is slow and can only do two or so dodges before overheating
>>1368244 What a thrill
>>1369168 this so much it's still pretty cute tho
(1.88 MB 1920x1080 Scythe vs Greatsword.png)

Aside from style points, why would you pick the Scythe over the Greatsword? The greatsword is just equal if not better than the Scythe in every single way. >Scythes aren't practical weapons Shut up >>1368244 Melee is great against Leki, but damn I can't get a hang of the Sabi yet. I do sprint towards the backside of targets I wanna kill with the greatswords, but I don't know how to get the best bonus out of the Sabi's supposed bonus damage according to your speed upon hitting the enemy with the blade.
>>1372680 style is all that matters. that said, the scythe has a weird hitbox (intentional) at max charge and can hit twice on the same enemy, so mere statboxes dont tell the whole story
Hati appears first in Central Caverns, right? After that I encountered her in Accumulation Zone before the boss and then in The Great Forest on a path beside the highway. Where does she go after that? I checked the church in The Fault and she's not there. >>1375259 Don't think I've noticed that, but thanks.
(166.82 KB 318x386 unarmed specialization.png)

>>1375259 interesting, I never tried a lot of the melee weapons due to being disappointed with the thermal greatsword compared to the pneumatic greatsword. then I found the pile bunker in The Bridge and my brain has since rotted from the impossible amount of unga it produces.
>>1376893 The Ungest
>>1376893 >pick up a weapon with a "GOD" abbreviation in its name >it's the goddamn pile bunker I expected it to be much bigger, but that's still pretty badass.
>>1369147 >Is it good old ZIZZ STUDIO this time as well? Yes.
(715.94 KB 1920x2160 Hod Life 1.png)

Slightly less lazy redraw.
What gets carried over on a NG+?
>>1382003 everything except access to areas
The Depths is interesting, I like dark places like this, but boy am I lost.
>>1383182 So I can immediately spawn in with the gatling gun and DAKKA DAKKA my way through this time, thanks. Oh, since I got the Sabi already, would the twins being chuunis carry over too? Or would I have to give them the twin egg again?
>>1381077 Is pantsu on head actual equipment in the game?
>>1385055 Unfortunately not.
