Dragon's Dogma Online Anonymous 04/23/2025 (Wed) 18:03:21 Id: 86086a No. 1228775
Dragon's Dogma Online was a free to play MMO, it played a lot like DDDA but with some changes and limitations expected from a MMO meant to run on the PS3, but there was still a lot to see and do in this game, plenty of content, enemy variety, vocations, etc. Dragon's Dogma Online was shut down a long time ago but there's an ongoing restoration effort and a lot of progress has been achieved in the last months, the game is playable and a lot of quests and features have been restored, however there's still a significant amount of things to restore, despite that there's enough content here to keep you busy for months. Currently there's 2 private servers one can play on, ddon.org and dogmarising.org, for the most part dogmarising.org will offer you a better and smoother experience but ddon.org does have a bit more people. >Wanna play Dragon's Dogma Online? Click here: https://pastebin.com/779hUvtH >DDON Beginner's guide https://pastebin.com/EqbBYnVe Recent-ish changes/restored game features (these will/should apply to all private servers) >Job Masters have been implemented, all Arisen Skills and Augments will be unequipped, reset and JP have been refunded, Pawns' skills and augments are unequipped but they get to keep whatever they had unlocked before, talk to Renton at Relay Station District for Tutorial and Seeking Job Masters Quests. >Area Trials for Phindym have been added, Caution spots will be added later for S2 maps. >Achievements, Arisen Room Customization and Furniture Crafting are now available. >Tutorial Quests and Adventure Guide are now available, tutorial quests must be done to unlock (previously unlocked) features. >Arisen Profile customization is available. >Added more possible stats to Limit Break. >You can now visit other players' rooms if you're in the same party, must talk to Barton the Inn keeper to do so. >Translation has been updated: https://github.com/Sapphiratelaemara/DDON-translation/blob/main/gmd.csv Dogma Rising (server specific) changes: >Job Training tasks' kill targets have been cut in half. >Ongoing efforts to change dungeon spawns to be more accurate and better meet Job Training kill requirements. >XP gain from monster kills is currently being changed, feedback is welcome. >Job items added to BBM >Chevalier Legs, Krall Breastplate, Rahatz Surcoat, Krall Banded, Rahatz Tied, Oriental Mantle, Scapular Mantle and some additional materials are now craftable. >Invasion Channel Roster, including bosses and their drops https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1o5ppoWw8b7imMXeCWhLhjHczo7qPMkq3vpQQHCzjaow/edit?usp=sharing
>>1228775 Which is the best server to join?
>>1232193 dogma rising by far
(3.91 MB 600x960 Mayleaf loop.webm)

>>1232193 I would recommend Dogma Rising, I've played on both servers, about 4 months on ddon.org, and about 4 months on dogmarising.org, when I started playing I had to play on ddon.org because that was the one that was available, I soon realized that ddon.org's admin wasn't the best, he made his server grindier than even the original game, because he believes since it's an MMO, it should be very grindy, also he doesn't really give a damn about players' feedback, you'd often get ignored or just straight up told that whatever you suggested would take too much effort. Mind you, I had to start over from scratch when I switched over to Dogma Rising, so I lost those 4 months of progress, but I was worth it, the new server's admin will actually consider and implement your feedback, will fix bugs if he's able to and just puts in a hell of a lot more effort, most importantly the server's balance itself is also better but in a bit of constant flux due to it being such a new server, it certainly looks like it will continue to be the superior server. The one thing I can say it's better on ddon.org is that it does have a bigger population because it's been available for much longer, but I think this will change sooner than later, lots of people have been switching from it to Dogma Rising.
>>1228775 Fuck I miss this game. I was playing alchemist and got all the way to the start of the season 2 content I think it was? That green isle with the black knight or something. How much more content is there? How were the new classes they added after? Spiritlancer and something I forgot.
DDO makes me wish I didn't hate multiplayer games. I can't just keep going back to DD1.
>>1233822 you dont have to play with or even interact with people, you barely even see them. unless you mean the other MMO trappings too.
>>1228775 >Job Masters have been implemented, all Arisen Skills and Augments will be unequipped, reset and JP have been refunded, Pawns' skills and augments are unequipped but they get to keep whatever they had unlocked before, talk to Renton at Relay Station District for Tutorial and Seeking Job Masters Quests. man that part really sucks you have to grind more now and most pawns are now useless to hire
>>1233776 >How much more content is there? After that part you mentioned there's the rest of season 2, which takes place on an additional much larger map, and then there's the Season 3 area which is massive but you can't really visit it now unless you ask a high LV player to take you there, but it is there though there's not much to do there except for killing stuff, however only Season 1 and Season 2 storylines have been restored so far. >How were the new classes they added after? Spirit Lancer and High Scepter, Spirit Lancer is pretty fun, one of my favorite vocations, it's a green vocation but you still deal pretty decent and damage and is overall satisfying to play, arguably the more enjoyable green vocation. High Scepter is really strong and versatile but gets boring fast because it lacks skill variety, sadly it was released pretty late and the game was shutdown shortly after so it got the least amount of content, it's still perfectly functional. >>1233822 This game is pretty solo-friendly, though with some of the systems that have been recently restored you might have a harder time, but still, if you don't mind doing a little extra grinding for your pawns' gear, you can do like 90% of the game completely solo, you can have up to 3 pawns of your own. >>1234941 It does suck, but at least the amount of stuff you have to kill was reduced by more than half for every single skill and augment (on Dogma Rising at least) and if you're starting from the beginning, most of the stuff you're tasked to kill you'll just find during normal exploration and main story quests, so it's not really that bad. In my case it's a bit worse because I'm at the endgame, but had to go back to kill basic mobs to essentially catch up back to where I was, still, it's more manageable now that the requirements were significantly reduced.
Is JP fairly easy to grind for on Dogma Rising?
>>1228775 yeah I was at lvl 60 and I had to kill direwolves for an hour and also I have no idea where to find a ghouls or high lvl black griffins and giant sauirians. the rest of the patch was cool
>>1235769 Once you unlock EXMs you can start grinding for JP, the highest amount of JP you can get from an EXM is 4000, that's from the special LV80 BK EXM, I think the lowest LV EXM gives like 1000 JP, so yeah it's a pretty fast farm, but ideally you'd start farming that when you get to LV85 or so so you can do the BK2 EXM in 3 minutes or less, Dogma Rising has the default JP values while ddon.org's are cut in half or more, if I remember correctly the same EXM gives you 1600 JP instead of the 4k you get on Dogma Rising, oh and your pawns get the extra JP as well, your pawns can't get JP from EXMs on ddon.org, or even the original game. >>1235788 >Ghoul There's a LV60 one in Frigid Ancient Passage on Bloodbane Isle. >high lvl black griffins The only I know of is a LV63 one very close to Bloodbane Isle Precipice port crystal (only during the night) >giant sauirians. What LV? I know there's some by Lynwood Underground Waterway, it's a LV15 WQ or something so a bit low LV.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpnpM9H4pxU This isn't like DD at all. It's way too anime
>>1240139 DDDA's Strider became an AOT character pretty much and yeah the game can be really flashy or "anime" as you put it, it's not as grounded as the other DD games so it might not be for everyone, other vocations play more traditionally when compared to Seeker by the way
>>1236382 oh thanks for the info anon
>>1240139 BORN TO RESET / AUGHT IS A FUCK / Juggle Em All 1989 / I am rope man / 410,757,864,530 DEAD BKs
>>1240139 If DD2 featured just half of what DDO had + the yet again cut Moon Tower, it would've been far more of a hit on launch.
>>1247750 No problem nigga, you have any more questions just ask, I've played this game for an embarrassingly long time so I can probably answer. >>1253145 You can see that they took some stuff from DDON but yeah, perhaps they could've featured more stuff from it, Mystic Spearhand was probably inspired from DDON's Spirit Lancer vocation, general vocation design was probably inspired from DDON given how DD2's vocations are more focused on specific roles like DDON's vocations, some other stuff like special sound effects when enemies are staggered and knocked down were also probably taken from DDON, there's probably some other stuff I can't remember now.
A summary of recent changes to the Dogma Rising server: >Miscellaneous changes to more spawns to make JT easier >Changed exp penalty cap in a party to 20 levels difference (was 10 before?), can now party with players/pawns up to a difference of 20 LVs without XP penalties >Pawns' skills (just skills, augs remain unequipped) were re-equipped globally, with the exception of P/T versions which will be replaced by the LV10 version (good for abandoned pawns) >New BO randomizer feature: every mob group has a small chance to spawn a BO variant, this BO variant can have its LV increased by 1 up to 5 LVs, manually placed BO enemies will remain >Several fixes to JT orders >More MSQ and WQ fixes, Agent of Corruption EXM fixed to have a regular Scourge again >Manun Village quest board should be unlocked now (was supposed to unlock at the same time as Ivanos Tower's board) >Even more XP changes to WQs (I can't keep up with the XP changes anymore)
>>1234336 so how is it an mmo?
Can you put smol pawns in silk lingerie in this?
>>1295591 For a so called MMO, it's lacking the Massive aspect of it, maximum party size is 8 and that's 4 player + 4 pawns, there's some special content (called EXMs) that you can do with 8 players though and the game is instanced with the exception of the hub areas, guess it had something to do with having to run originally on the PS3, there's only so much you can do with an MMO that had to run on such weak hardware. >>1305720 Yes, it's just like DDDA in that, there's also quite a few options of bikins and some other types of underwear besides the classic silk lingerie, I think the minimum height is also about the same as DDDA's and there's options for you to transmog, so you can wear your actual gear for stats and wear the slutty/revealing gear on top, you can very easily have silk-lingerie-lolis in DDON.

DDON has cute girls too by the way.
How well does this game work for playing duo? Do you need a full group to do most things?
>>1358727 The game works pretty well with 2 or more people, there are some exceptions though, main quests and area trials tend to get weird when you play with other players, but the rest of the game content, a lot of side quests, and general exploring can be done just fine with others. As for the difficulty itself, 2 players and their pawns can do practically everything very comfortably, keep in mind that each player can make up to 3 pawns as well. For the Dogma Rising server specifically, the party is limited to a maximum of 4 players plus 4 pawns for a total party size of 8, with 2 players though, you can only do 2 players plus 5 pawns, not sure why, but just having more than 4 members in party already makes the game pretty easy anyway, since the official maximum party size is supposed to be 4. The only content that kind of needs a full group of people are EXMs, which are special missions that are honestly kind of optional and you will probably only do these at the endgame, these are done with 4 or 8 players depending on which EXM it is, you can't mix players and pawns for EXMs sadly, so it's either a player and up to 3 of his pawns or up to 4 or 8 players. There's also this special game mode called BBM (Bitterblack Maze), this can only be done with up to 4 players, but people often play this game mode so you likely won't have issues finding other players for it.
>>1358930 Thanks. I'll have to try it at some point.

What effect does character size / weight have on gameplay in this? I tried searching online but got conflicting information.
>>1379043 No effect, the only weight that matters is from the armor you equip and you can bring the weight down with Crests, which are items you slot into your armor pieces, and your total armor weight affects stamina consumption and regeneration. Somewhat related to this is that there's no weight from items in your inventory, you're only limited by the amount and the stacks but it's rare to run out of space.

Was there a server rollback on Dogma Rising? I lost all progress I made yesterday.
>>1397296 Yes, there was a (failed) attempt at doing some Database migration to reduce lag and shit and a rollback was necessary, as compensation there's a 2x XP and 2x BO event(?) until May 27th. I hope you didn't lose much progress.
(11.16 MB 1680x1050 no damage.mp4)

I'm barely doing any damage to big enemies. What am I doing wrong? I am level 13, my daggers are level 11. >>1398500 Nah. Luckily I didn't play very much that day.
>>1398500 That sucks man.
I finally got a character started on the Dogma Rising server. It's by far the better experience. The older ddon private server seems to be going for a vanilla experience, which was excessively grindy and repetitive. I've only reached lv20 so far, but progression feels far smoother and natural. I remember genociding the Tel cyclops far too many times when the game launched back in 2015 and on the ddon.org server. There was no need to do that on Dogma Rising. >>1401441 I don't know the specifics of how damage is calculated, but as long as you don't engage enemies more than 2-3 levels above you, and you keep upgrading/replacing your weapons as you level, nothing should take that long to die.
>>1401441 That's normal MMO HP bloat, the game is balanced around 4 players/pawns, get yourself a blue pawn that can enchant your weapons, that's double damage with the right element, then get a green pawn that can highlight the enemy's core when enraged so you can end their rage faster and knock them down, and of course when they're knocked down you do extra damage, that's the basic of it, and on top of that, thrown in an extra red pawn for DPS, the most popular choice is Sorcerer, at first you can only have 2 pawns, so I'd focus on blue and green pawns first, for green pawns, they're all mostly fine, Priest is a bit trickier while Element Archer is easier for pawns to use, Spirit Lancers are in the middle and have solid DPS, for blue pawns you'd probably be better with an Alchemist pawn, Shield Sage pawns are not bad, but not ideal, when you're about LV60~ you'll have access to a 3rd pawn, that's when I would get a red pawn. >>1406304 The ddon.org private server is even grindier than the original game if you can believe that, but they still claim they're going for the OG experience.
