Hitman thread Anonymous 04/27/2025 (Sun) 02:07:29 Id: b06801 No. 1269098
You do get your starting outfit back before exiting, right? Also should I get the series on Steam? I already own 3 on Epic, but I hate Epic so much it's unreal.

>>1269098 I never use disguises. I'm always going SASO as a given. It's just better that way.
nah i play these games super casually. when i play them i just wanna have fun
Should I get Hitman 3 on steam. I have it on epic but I hate epic so much its unreal
>>1269098 I never tried these games. Should I play through it in order, or does it not really matter.
>>1269813 For the new games, just get Hitman 3 (World of Assassination). It has all the maps from the previous games and most of the content. For the older games, your best bet is to start with Blood Money, then if you want more play Contracts. The first two games (codename 47 and H2SA) are quite dated at this point, and not entirely accessible to newcomers as a result. If you're used to jank then it might not be a problem but most people will probably be turned off by them. As for Absolution, I say skip it, you're not missing anything.
>>1269185 >I hate epic so much its unreal >its unreal
>>1269098 Atleast put some effort on your thread, dear newfag. A subject line atleast Back on topic, what happened to the remaster of Blood Money that was announced few years back? It went poof after the announcement.
>>1269185 >>1269843 >>1269813 My order is either start with Hitman 3 (contains both 1 and 2) if you want modern convenience and "MODERN GRAPHIXXS" or Blood Money if you aren't afraid of peak 2000s. It has aged really well especially compared to absolution. Then go with Silent Assassin, then Codename47 with patches. >As for Absolution, I say skip it It was my young guilt that I preordered that shit used to defend it in 2012. I'd say only play if it you really starved for Hitman content. Play it with ALL the assistances turned off. Or better yet, watch a youtube playthrough of it, you'll save a lot of headache
>>1301484 >Absolution It wasn't THAT bad but you can tell why people didn't like it. Hitman 1-3 are the only games in recent memory that are 10/10 kino though, I'd start there personally
>>1301680 If hitman 3 didn't include 1 and 2 I'd say list would be hitman 2 > Blood Money > Silent Assasin > Hitman 1 > Hitman 3 based purely on how to play the series
>>1269098 Use the patient outfit instead
>>1301714 I agree
>>1301462 You mean Reprisal? That was a mobile port
I played nuhitman 1 and it didn't have the SOVL of blood money, what changed? It didn't feel like you were sneaking anywhere. It's like all the levels were modeled after the White House mission at the end of blood money. Maybe I'm just a boomer now and hate new thing.
>>1302080 Ohh. Oh well, we have mods atleast. >>1303109 You can write an entire video essay on how this nuhitman feels different from older titles. It reflects upon the change in making game "accesible to wider audience" and giving players too many options that theh simply choose the easiest option, rather than have to work with the limited restrictions the older game provides. Im not bashing the newer titlez, they managed to modernized the series in a right direction. Just that it feels like a generational gap between them. Things couldve been much worse, like how they massacred the AssCreed series.
>>1303299 Well, it was a port/remixed version. They added the instinct function from nuHitman and a minimap.
I like the reboot trilogy a lot, but I wish there was a way to turn off the Absolution elements. I don't fucking care about score or any of that. WoA Hitman 2 would be my favourite if not for the GaaS elements. As it is I'd rank Blood Money as my favorite. If you're fan of the World of Assassination trilogy, at least try Blood Money. The games before that are a bit rough, I couldn't even force my way through Agent 47.
>>1409743 Do they also change audio lines from saying "agent 47" to saying "agent 64" when wearing the costumes? Because if not, that's one big missed opportunity.
It’s really too bad that the competency crisis has killed off the potential of this franchise. It should have developed into an open-ended, immersive problem-solving experience rather than this limited puzzle game. 47 absolutely wouldn’t fit in someplace just because he takes someone’s uniform which magically fits him.
>>1409957 >change audio lines from saying "agent 47" to saying "agent 64" IO Interactive, HIRE THIS MAN
I enjoyed Freelancer mode for a while but I gotta say the detective "boss level" missions where you have to scope out the target get really monotonous after many completions. In alerted areas or hardcore they always boil down to blending in and literally sitting there with 0 interaction until the suspect you want walks by, and if you're too slow in taking a good picture, then enjoy sitting for another 3-5 minutes doing absolutely nothing waiting for the NPC to walk the full cycle of the map again. It's quite a shame because I enjoy the Freelancer style on the normal missions quite a bit, and finding ways to complete the bonus objectives is good fun. But I find myself dreading the boss missions and usually end up turning the game off when I make it to one. Anyone else feel they were so close to making an actual replayable roguelite but failed in the execution just enough to kill your enjoyment?
>>1422553 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBaZe4v0-EI yeah bro I don't like 'em either. in fact, it reminds me of asscreed 3 wolfpack. if you're not familiar, it was a co-op focused multiplayer mode where you had to work alone or with a group of up to four to kill npc targets. at first it was easy to discern them from the crowd and rack up points but as time went on, they got more difficult to tell apart as they traveled in fucking packs or always with a doppelganger in tow, which meant you had to use abilities to get them to reveal themselves. if they detected you, you'd receive a penalty to points earned, which was not desirable, because you needed to maximize points and extend your timer. it's a cool concept, to have to pick your target out from a group of lookalikes, but freelancer's version leaves much to be desired. primarily, my problem is that sometimes, even by a process of elimination, it can be difficult to figure out who your target is, and if you pick the wrong one, even as an educated guess, you're punished hard, as the might of the map's security forces swarms upon you like flies on shit, and the real target flees to make their escape. at the very least, they should've allowed you to gather intel to figure out definitively which is the real target. i.e. you could use a process of elimination to guess based on the attributes provided, but if that's not enough, you could sneak into a restricted area and read a document that gives more information if necessary until you're absolutely sure that THIS ONE is the target. aside from that, I find that freelancer's scenarios are prebaked and if you play them enough it's easy to see that it's not truly randomized. they should fix that.
