One thing that massively bothered me about 3R's performances is that I could pick out the races of the principal cast just on certain reads. Yukari's played by a latina woman that otherwise matches the pitch and tone of Michelle Ruff, but she never shakes a nasally sound on certain vowels characteristic of latinas, although I can't be sure if it's not her first language or if it's because it just happens in general. I picked up that Junpei is played by a black guy just because of his speaking cadence. Shinjiro's voice actor is also black and actually drops an "axe" when speaking the word "asks." This is to say nothing of Akihiko, who, rather than his race peaking out, was apparently directed to do a constantly macho tone for him. Mitsuru and Fuuka have relatively good performances, but go figure, they're white and Asian respectively. They speak pretty naturally, but again, it's hard to tell if it's good directing, or them just being capable of speaking the English language. Dawn Bennet's also pretty good as Aigis, although you have to be specifically coached to speak the way Aigis does. Which is fine, she actually doesn't draw out some of her syallables the way Karen Strassmen does. You can hear that in her reads as Moriyama in 3 and Nanako and Izanami in 4. Point is, I have no damn hope for 4R on the dub side. There may be some gems, but there's going to be too much rough to be worth it. That's horrible for a story-driven RPG.

Then they can take this P4 remake, ride on the success of P5 and P3R, and make a huge profit, all while charging $70 for it. Fatlus made truckloads of cash from P3R, and that's despite the fact that they separated the FES content, made it DLC, and charged an additional price for it on top of the $70 base game price tag. So a bit of work for a large amount of gain, they would be foolish not to release a remake of Persona 4 now. I don't think the Persona development team sees the games the current team didn't make as untouchable, as they are clearly fine with remaking P3 despite the original director being gone. It must be that remakes of Persona 1, Innocent Sin, and Eternal Punishment would take much more work than a remake of Persona 4. Environments would have to be reimagined in three dimensions, character models would have to be made almost from the ground up, and the team may feel that the story has to be altered majorly to fit within the expectations of today's average player. And who knows if these newer fans would even care about the older games, even if they were given a new make and model and shiny paint? Not to mention how a certain sunglasses-wearing fella might throw a wrench or two into any remake plans. Wouldn't be the first time a single character made things difficult.
