Today I want to talk about Nagusa's hair. Nagusa has incredibly long, snow-white hair that would touch the ground if she wasn't wearing her geta. This, along with her long skirt or kimono in the case of her swimsuit, gives her an almost other-worldly appearance. She was originally made to look at lot more like a ghost, along with a more asymmetrical pose. Her swimsuit alt has her tying a braid into her left side, showing a slight asymmetry compared to her right. With her lotus (and, to a lesser extent, cherry blossom) leitmotif showing up throughout her design could represent the first sprouting of spring. It also makes her design stand as a foil to Nature's Beauty, where her adversaries are typically in black and red to her (and the Hyakkaryouran as a whole)'s white and blue. It could even be noted that Yukari, Kikyou and Renge are colors visible in the morning, and Nagusa is the first light to end the darkness. She is a very symbolic character, but her being very girly is a cute side of her, like a statue smiling. She takes immaculate care of her hair, seeing how it's unblemished despite its length. White is associated with purity, so this makes sense. It's hard to tell if her hair would lean into her girly side, or if it would be more mature and subtle to keep appearances up. It's probably the latter... But perhaps her air of mystery is the thickest scent of all! Nagusa hides her right arm from the viewer in her swimsuit, but you can barely make out her fingers. It's possible that this might be closer to her "natural" hairstyle, but her arm being cursed made it impossible to properly braid. It might also be done as a sign of respecting Ayame's leadership. She has a meme about being a triangle, and she would look like an Isosceles triangle, but if you look for it, you can see that she's just barely a Scalene triangle.
