Today I want to talk about Kaya's hair. Before that, though... Is it just me, or does the GSC have a common theme among their halos? They all have a celestial look to them, which is a good touch with their outfit being stars as well. If that were the case, then Kaya's halo seems to be a representation of magnetic poles. It could also be a reference to how the earth revolves, its angle changes through the year- which, if this were true, leads to her halo being a very clever metaphor for revolution, and indirectly changing seasons.
But that's her halo. Her hair is a nice pink, tied up in a way that her braid holds it, which hides how far it can really go down. This is peculiar, since that would mean her hair probably goes down to the middle of her chest, which is only slightly longer than her bangs. Her hair, when the light catches on it, looks strange- normally you see a white, or a lighter shade. Rarely you'll see a different color, like brown catching on the sun and being copper or even dirty blonde. This makes it look like her hair has a blue sheen, which is very strange indeed. My eyes might be playing tricks on me, though. Her bangs start very high up on her hair, showing two tiny air vents, before going down herr center's bowl cut, before leaving her head entirely, making her hair have multiple points to it, but I find the ahoge and stray bit of hair on her right side to be the most pronounced. Kaya has a near perfect head of hair, but that actually makes bits like this stand out a lot more. Yes, her hairbun is pretty and elegant, but it's curtained by her bangs. It makes her feel gilded, in a way- she is the picture of elegance, but only the picture of it. Also, her stray hair went from her left on the PV2 cutscene to her right everywhere else. This feels like she's aware of her hair having that defiant patch and she tries to get it to stick in line, but everything she's tried has failed.
Kaya's hair is an awkward one to say how it smells. Her eyes are very memorable, like seeing a brilliant emerald necklace on someone's person, but it would be very shallow for me to say that she uses goat products. Kaya does seem like the type who would use them, sure, but I can't shake the feeling she'd instead make her hair smell similar yet distinct from the rest of the GSC- when alone, you would smell the GSC, but when together, you would smell Kaya. Probably uses a floral blend, like many other students, with forget-me-nots as the main scent. Though that would mainly be in the past- these days, I think her hair smells just fine. I do miss the forget-me-nots, and her trying to stand out. It provided an interesting dynamic for her and everyone else, but hopefully it's a better dynamic in the future.
