Duet Night Abyss Anonymous 08/26/2025 (Tue) 12:08:04 Id: 3ab4e3 No. 1693893
The new game that was supposed to be a gacha game turned out to remove all gacha aspects. It is now anime Warframe >remove all the gacha mechanics like pulling for banners >you grind for all resources with no stamina systems >you can pay money to skip grind and buy cosmetics I hope if this game is successful it will push out the gacha game model in favor of standard live service
>>1693893 Spoken like a true lucklet But jokes aside might as well check it out.
>>1693893 >>>/gach <turned out to remove all gacha aspects Ok, I am interested. >launch date 28th October 2025 >made by a chink company So are they just going to profit from cosmetics alone, or will it be P2W?
>>1693925 They said there should not be any P2W. For hard content there's online Co-op with other players or your friends, and you can use AI bots that automatically control some of your other characters for hard content to support you. Monetization seems to mainly be cosmetics and paying to skip grinding. But we will have to wait and see for the release if it's shit or not, I personally hope it's not but who knows with Zhangs.
>>1693934 >paying to skip grinding perhaps it will be like war thunder where the grinding becomes well and truly painful meaning only people with impulse control will resist payment
>>1693893 >>remove all the gacha mechanics like pulling for banners >>you grind for all resources with no stamina systems Wait what the fuck? REALLY?
>>1693934 >>1693974 If they really are copying the Warframe model, the premium currency can be used to buy, well, Warframes and weapons. But a Warframe's part takes 12 hours to build and the fusing the 3 parts into making a Warframe takes 3 days. This encourages players to go around farming a ton of stuff across the planets but when there is a new release you certainly get seduced into skipping. A new Warframe releasing on a Thursday morning would only be ready by Sunday night for example IF the player farmed him fast enough. We also have to use platinum to buy slots for Warframes and weapons, stuff like that.
>>1694024 Can't load the video but when I find another link will check. Sounds great. Bold too cause you really need to ttrust this system would work.
>>1694087 they did not mention how long youll have to grind or how much youll have to pay so be wary, grabbed this image from the video where they explain how to acquire characters/weapons
>>1693893 So is it 60 dollars now instead of free to play? Why did it remove the gacha elements though?
>>1694163 my guess is that they are trying to avoid competition in the oversaturated chinese gachashit market, something to stand out from but not exit freemium model
>>1694163 It's F2P, just live service. The gacha market is oversaturated and a lot of games that were starting development to copy Gayshits success will be coming out. But because gacha players have "limited funds" and can't simply start another gacha without considering dropping their current ones, making more means you're directly competing with every other gacha. Making the game live service and with no fomo means you can still play it while playing your usual gacha. It's the better move, as long as they succeed.
>>1694225 What's wrong with forking out 100$ skin bundles? It's all optional eye candy that is supposed to sell as the main financial model, as long as it's all cosmetics and you can grind anything affecting gameplay. Live service games have to make money somehow, optional purchases are the best. Unless you mean I like one skin from the bundle but can't buy it without buying the whole bundle. That would suck. The best way I see it, you can buy a single skin or the whole bundle, and the whole bundle will be on a discount compared to buying all of them separately.
>>1694167 Oversaturated is an understatement, especially when you factor in the CN only gachas they have that will never get a global release. I don't even know how mainland chinks spend so much on multiple gacha games there, It's like there is mandated by the government to upkeep the economy or something.
>>1694225 I wonder how long it will take them to diversify away from subpar gambling "games", freemium shit or straight up ripoffs, their videogame market resembles google play more than real videogames >>1694379 >don't even know how mainland chinks spend so much on multiple gacha games there Theres a billion of them, no need for overlap >It's like there is mandated by the government to upkeep the economy or something. considering once you get big enough you need a political agenda enforcer present in the company it would not be too far from the truth
How do you people defend $100-$500 skin bundles and other scummy shit modern games do but turn your noses at gachas with $5 monthly passes? I just can't understand that logic
>>1694996 Getting enough gacha currency for a guaranteed pull/spark can also cost a few hundred dollars. As for your question, I guess a skinner box is not viewed as badly as a slot machine, as it doesn't create gambling addicts.
>>1693893 >no gachaslop >all cosmetics I fucking kneel.
>>1694996 A 100$ skin is not only irrelevant to the gameplay itself but also cheaper than a single character + weapon in an average gachashit, those games also usually make you build an entire team so multiply it by however many slots there are, yet another venue is copies of characters and gear which can multiply the base cost up to 20x, now consider the fact that powercreep is everpresent and start the cycle all over again
New story trailer. Still nothing about the monetization or how big the grind will be, but only a month left for the release. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=X3sCWQTgoZ0
>>1694259 >what's wrong with paying 100$ for skins I wish I could flay you alive, heathen. You and your kind have done irreparable damage to gaming, and I hate you for it.
Don't want to make a new thread for this. Ananta also went the same way DNA did. The gacha game is no longer the gacha, you unlock characters through playing and all character gacha is removed, you can pay to reduce grind and buy cosmetics. https://www.famitsu.com/article/202509/53241 >By playing, you can recruit all playable characters. >Monetization is for customization elements like clothing, vehicles, DIY, etc. >This week's Weekly Famitsu features it on the cover and in a special It's like chinese GTA https://youtu.be/uYejjuRrLzw?
>>1748179 lol what's the issue, if you don't like it just ignore it :^)
>>1781455 >chinese GTA Yeah, no strip clubs, no shooting random people on the street/running them over with a car, no foul language, no drugs, no police corruption and zero references to the triads.
>>1781455 >>Monetization is for customization elements like clothing, vehicles, DIY, etc. So the 90% of the reason people play GTA online servers.
>>1781455 >>1782482 The "chinese GTA" title belongs for Sleeping Dogs
>>1693893 >>1781455 Is there any reason they are investing in this model recently? I know games like Warframe and League of Legends do, but did they feel it was safer than actual gacha? Did something happen?
>>1782759 They are trying to emulate Marvel Rivals.
>>1782759 Gacha market is overly saturated having one suddenly come and say they are ditching the characters gachas is different and new thing it brings a lot of free exposure to them, the online gaming market like MMO has been in decline too so they are trying to capture that public too.
>>1782759 Has gacha every come under fire for the same legal issues Fortnite and similar have for being what amounts to gambling simulators?
>>1781455 To be honest, I was dreading that it'd be another gacha slop. Fact is, this market has been rapidly evolving since the release of Genshin Impact, both in terms of story and gameplay, and it really sucks that they'll put in all this work and create a game that looks extremely appealing, only for me to spot that cash shop icon in the top left/right corner in the gameplay trailer and immediately be disappointed. I ignore anything 'hoyo' for explicitly this reason. I don't get involved in gacha. >>1782759 It's not just those games too, its also similar to the monetization model of Helldivers and Fortnite. This works a bit off of the consumer good will too. You have the people who don't give a shit about skins- they're nearly completely unaffected by the monetization model and will promote it as a excellent free game. You have the people who care a lot about skins- they're usually the type to pay for shit in the aforementioned games anyways and would be the target market. Either way by creating a genuinely good game and setting, you entrap a market who is there for your game only. It is exclusive, and that is a golden monetization opportunity. No different from Disney making infinity money off of childhood capeshit. Shit, by a certain extent it's also the monetization strategy of FF14. FF14 also makes money through other means, but they've admitted that the mostly cosmetic cash shop is a large source of revenue >>1783135 Yes. I think the EU has already passed laws? It's made every new-gen gacha starting with Hoyo's slop start a new gacha model entirely based off of "extreme" pity. Night and day difference between it and, say, Fate/ Grand Order. It's not too far fetched that a few conversations have happened in board rooms with the lot at the top realizing that if they keep pushing that business model it'll be ruined. It's only good business sense to anticipate government movements.
>>1782759 Too many gacha shit, too little whales probably.
>>1783365 Pretty much, its hard to get people to invest in new gacha when they already have other games they are playing. Its really funny seeing people freak out that there isnt a gacha anymore and learning they actually have to play the game for once.
>>1783135 The only one I know, was in Japan, that forced companies to disclose actual rates for each individual character. Before you only knew you had a 3% chance to get an SSR character, but now you are also told how much of that 3% is for the banner character, and how much is for all the other SSR characters who are not on the banner.
>>1795587 >Its really funny seeing people freak out that there isnt a gacha anymore and learning they actually have to play the game for once. And then they would pay for aim bots or macros that bypasses the anti cheat, and it would cost them as much as the banner characters if it was a gacha. It would be funny, and ironic.
>>1693893 In one hand I'm interested, especially because warframe became utter goyslop, but on the other hand I find it hard to care about "live service" games anymore which just translate to having a second job, especially because it's chink made.
>>1694379 >I don't even know how mainland chinks spend so much on multiple gacha games there Their "real games" market is effectively dead aside from imported japanese PS5s and dota/league of legends.
>>1782759 Hoyoslop basically crashed the 3D action gacha bubble with no survivors, the only money to be made at this point is off industry inertia before the boat sinks.
These new monetization schemes have to prove themselves first with their gameplay loop and content cadence first before they can squeeze money out of people.
TGS showcased a playable cunny and some more gameplay >>1798489 I'm hopeful, I'm tired of dooming all the time I want to feel hope, this will be decent
>>1798489 >>1799921 >fifa football players, but for weeaboos >WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo
(277.15 KB 640x964 bsch.jpg)

>>1782759 These bigger studios definitely made projections and realized that most whales won't spend money on anything but Homoverse games or whatever they're already regularly spending on but if they bait people and manage to fleece them another way it's all good.
>>1798444 Could you please explain how? I have never touched chinese gacha, out of my hatred for the chinks, I am only touched gook and jap gacha :^) so I am out of the loop. Is there also a reason why the Japanese, seemingly didn't try to make their own 3D open world gacha, that is also available worldwide? I always expected Granblue to have such a spinoff. >>1799921 >TGS showcased a playable cunny <pic unrelated
>>1800011 >I always expected Granblue to have such a spinoff. There is one but its a real game instead, relink
>>1800077 >real game >relink
>>1800011 Genshin Impact has a defacto monopoly despite coasting with minimal reinvestment compared to the billions the game raked in. Then the same company made Zenless Zone Zero which is much more niche and less succesful. Perfect World has a gacha MMO Tower of Fantasy and Tencent owns majority stake in a company that made PGR and eventually Wuthering Waves which is supposed to be Genshin but post-apo and better combat. Again both of these are much smaller than Genshit. Cygames were smarter than a lot of chink devs that had to shutdown their games in the first year and release Relink as a single player game with optional co-op for a retail price and microtransactions on top. Now there's a wave of ~10 games coming in near future that are going to compete with these and each other so they have to pivot somehow and get some PR points while doing so.
>>1800077 I am ware of Relink, but I mean more in rebooting the gacha, but now in a 3D world. Redo some of the stories, and side-events, by taking the best of the best, and resetting all the power-creep, back to year 1. >>1800090 Yes Relink is a real game. It's a standalone single-player game, with some optional Co-Op elements.
>>1800090 Relink is a real game anon, what the fuck are you on about?
(122.74 KB 1313x613 Why genshit died.png)

>>1800011 >Could you please explain how? Picrel. >I am only touched gook Gonna guess that translates to "I'm a BAb" because other gook gacha basically don't exist. > Is there also a reason why the Japanese, seemingly didn't try to make their own 3D open world gacha, that is also available worldwide? Because it's unsustainable and at the point you are sinking that much money into a game you are better off making it a real game instead of shackling your entire company to the GAAS treadmill. Japan always knew gachaslop are always cash grab games and acted accordingly while making real games, only recently chinks seem to have gotten the memo and at least turned their new releases into MMOlites. And of course gooks are retarded and always and have made like 2 real games in nearly 3 decades.
>>1805337 >literal feminists infiltrating MHY to sabotage waifufags, culminating 2 or so years ago on one rather anticipated character getting utterly shit on and nerfed to uselessness just because she was an attractive female What character is this referring to? And by feminist infiltrators he means the korean dyke concept artist or is there more?
>>1805503 the only one i can recall being completely dogshit is dehya
Unofficial infographic about farming, gathered from how it works in the current beta. It's farming like in Warframe, only the terminology is different. Yes I stole it from reddit
>>1842944 Pretty much the modern relic system, but you can pick between Frame Part/Weapon Part/Consumable(?). >Initial unlock of a character I'm guessing this is some sort of uncap system?
I wasn't looking at picking up another abuse LTR game, but this is interesting me just because of the Warframe comparisons. Though none of the characters I've seen so far stick out for me.
>>1843120 I honestly have no idea, maybe there are some beta videos that showcase the mechanics, but we won't know until it fully releases in 2 weeks
>>1843731 I'll be waiting warmly till then I guess, though >>1799921 definitely suggests uncap levels after reading the thread a little closer. Hoping it'll scratch a similar itch if nothing else.
>>1842944 Waiting for more details. Warframe's unlock system is not the most cancerous part. It's the inventory management shit.
Global launch special program on the 25th of October https://www.youtube.com/live/wWNBT7aoF4Y
New database for characters, weapons and other things. Bare-bones so far, but it's the easiest way to check who is in the game and who you might want. https://boarhat.gg/games/duet-night-abyss/
>>1871284 >dedicated tag for summoners nice, Warframe barely has any of those and hopefully that means more of them here
>>1853211 It's starting
>You farm letter from certain stages that then have a chance to grant you character shards. You need 30 shards for a character. >Same for weapons, you grind and then redeem them in the shop. >You can grind in 4 players co-op. >Skins are either pay to acquire or gacha banners for skins. And they gave a release code, for all the gameplay stuff I want to experience it in the game how it works, and I hope dailies are a nothingburger and can be skipped. Pre-load is on the 26th.
Preloads are up you can download the standalone launcher if you don't want to use Epic
Where do I go to make an account?
Or rather, how do I make a password for it? I went on the official website and did some of the things on it, but I was never asked to make a password.
>>1881768 you technically can't, but if you log into the game and immediately click the Account Manager option that comes out up top before it check if the game is online, you'll be able to set a password and link accounts I did this trying to get a small UID but they're already up to 150k accounts
>>1881698 >Steam doesn't have the preload option gay
>>1882663 apparently Steam version won't be up for release. Weird.
>>1882669 They picked up all the semi-exclusivity deals, that being Apple and Epic. On Android the game is locked at 60fps (looking at the options right now) and I'm assuming it goes to 120 on iOS (even though their garbage can't run it at 120fps, just like it couldn't run Genshin), and Epic gets the release first. They also sell your info like they're social media, or a website (can opt out) they're really trying to recoup some of the development money upfront, likely trying to go the long run with the game Very shitty, but as long as they shit on Warframe and get Rebecca to start an onlyfans to survive I will support them they released another quirkchungus frame last week, it's so embarrassing to have 1800h for that game on my steam profile and now it's a regurgitation of a middle aged woman's For You twitter feed
>>1883964 Rebecca is really into this gacha called Love and Deepspace while also proudly wearing the tag for it on the official warframe discord instead of having a warframe tag I really liked warframe for being a cool robot game but it's so sad that the hag CEO keeps adding the worst possible garbage to it
>>1883994 yeah that's a lefty psyop LADS is being astroturfed by a Chinese organization called XianJiaJun (XJJ for short) who lobbies against attractive females in videogames and shills for guy characters and little boys. If you look at sites that "track" gacha sales, like SensorTower, it will always say that LADS is raking in $100M a month, but in reality they totally fake their numbers and say so on the website, and the studio impounded their office building to their bank last summer. They also make Yume Nikki, which is a dress up game with light platforming elements, and they were so strapped for cash (because women are spree spenders and not reliable customers) that they had to up the monetization on that game to the point where it crashed and burned and now it's on the way to EOS. They made each outfit cost $350 or something like that, and slashed F2P currency gain. I promise you Rebecca played that shit for 30 minutes tops. Nobody actually plays LADS.
>>1884138 Can you provide sources?
>>1884138 >Yume Nikki It is worse than that. I listened to some documentary fag interview a chick who was a diehard fan. They basically did a FF14 style story reboot (for no reason except money I guess?) except with fucked up monetization and fucked up "new" characters.
(1.34 MB 1280x1020 Xianjiajun.png)

>>1884145 I can't find the article about the impounding of the office building anymore, which is not surprising, but here's some stuff > Four Producers leave the company due to their projects getting cancelled due to lack of funds https://inf.news/en/game/55c02af268e54c3761d0ed846bf9824a.html > Mihoyo buys 6 Million mortgaged shares in Papergames (meaning they are giving them a loan on the assumption they can't pay it back in time, aka betting on failure) https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/16w0yb3/paper_games_mortgaged_6_million_shares_to_mihoyo paired with the monetization hike in Yume Nikki it's pretty safe to conclude that rumors about them making over a billion dollars in a year are completely unfounded >XianJiuJun harasses indie developer https://www.taptap.io/post/3432932 It's very difficult to find XJJ stuff because it's all in Chinese, I know about them because I play Snowbreak and CN anons would come over to update us on the situation over there regularly. XJJ has ties to Mihoyo, namely Peng Bo who is the head of the VA association in China has openly led a harassment campaign against every VA who worked for Snowbreak and successfully got all but 3 to quit, leading to recastings and delays, which is why Snowbreak has its summer patches in September. Members also infiltrate other companies and sit dormant until they can sabotage, which I know sounds totally fucking insane but it happened multiple times. One time the Director and Producer for Snowbreak took their first week off since the game's launch and this writer and editor who had been fine up to then immediately added NTR into the plot (quickly removed and replaced by an entirely different story from a different writer). Another time a female employee stole the first anniversary cake that players had gotten made for the developers and delivered to their office building and threw it in the garbage. XJJ also regularly campaigns against other games like Wuthering Waves, publishing guides on how to report the game to the CCP and how to harass the developers and people who work with Kuro Games or around them on commission or publishing/advertising. It is totally insane shit and that's not even the top of the iceberg, you really would need to ask a Chinese anon. As for SensorTower, because boomers kept using their data to invest and getting fucked by the Chinese boomers who didn't, they had to cover their ass by putting a bright red banner that says just that. SensorTower picks up the iOS sales, then applies a completely arbitrary multiplier to that number to simulate Android sales, and completely ignores PC sales. Games like WutheringWaves and Snowbreak are consistently at the lower ranks, but if you go on Steam after a patch drop they're in the top sellers every single time (and keep in mind, if you make purchases through the standalone client you can VPN to another country and pay up to 40% off, so most players do not buy off Steam). >>1884202 >for no reason except money I guess? The hard truth is that women do not play videogames in numbers anywhere near large enough to be profitable. There exist some pockets of the industry carried by women, like 'cozy' or casual MMORPGs (GW2, ESO, etc.) and women will totally buy up the entire store reliably, the appeal of those games is that they get into guilds and work HR/Management and then e-date guys 20 years younger than them. But when it comes to anything else, they don't buy much. Maybe stuff like Pokemon or Animal Crossing, or whatever's trendy on twitter at the moment, but they don't play a lot of videogames ON AVERAGE the way guys do.
>>1694259 <2006 >What's wrong with paying 9 dollars for a cosmetic for your horse? It's completely optional! >There are still tons of side content! >>1881870 Oh so I you just have to wait to do it legitimately huh? Weird. Oh well. All I got was coins. >>1883994 What is the current state of Warframe? I haven't played for years. >>1884138 >Yume Nikki Huh...is this a typo? You mean this Yume Nikki? The RPGMaker game from 2004?
>>1884862 It's called Infinity Nikki, anon mixed up his games
Which character in the starting roster is the footfag bait?
>>1884897 Anon wasn't the only anon. All these Nikkis look alike man.
>rimefang, destroy these fools, trap them within the tunnel >forsaken
Holy shit the game is rough and the performance is ass. At least the music is beautiful.
>>1693893 >I hope it will push out a cancerous game model in favor of an even more cancerous game model
I downloaded it to try but I get a buffer wheel ever 30 seconds
How's it going for everyone else so far? The game seems okay.
>>1889595 It's good and fun, the core of the game is solid. The story and characters are nice, dialogue isn't just an MC center wank, I like the artstyle, the gameplay is ok. Optimization is shit tho and movement could be better, you need to keep your momentum. But I'm happy with it, a year more in the oven and it can improve, not like Warframe was perfect on launch too.
>>1889595 I seem to have lucked out by not having any of the glaring performance/connection issues everyone seems to be complaining about. So far it's been decent fun but it does seem a bit *very* easy though im just at level 20 so hopefully towards the endgame it gets more challenging.
>excited to play this game >it shoves in "noooooo racism bad!" Why do they keep doing this? Especially the oriental Asian countries that literally all hate each other? I'm here to play games.
>>1889595 No real performance or connection issues. Did get some performance issues in one specific section in the sewers. Personally the thing that stands out to me is the music, which feels quite a bit similar to Nier at points. I also think the 10 Thought covert commission droprate is fairly low. Seems somewhat consistent that you'll need around 15 of those secret letters to get a character. (My luck is pretty horrid though.) >>1890108 Fantasy racism is a very common nip game trope at this point. I hope we do get playable Humans at some point rather than just Lunarians and Charons. It's also a taco party. I don't mind the booty on display but usually I just want to stroll around as a kickass warrior or something (I counted and its something like a 4-1 ratio.) Outsider looks cool though, I'm doing Secret Letters to unlock him.
>>1889595 Further along, thoughts so far: Story is fine, I do like that it is a bit darker so far. Also, some of the dialogue options are pretty funny. Characters are cool. Good designs and interesting backstories. Gameplay I have my reservations on. The entire movement system needs small tweaks everywhere. There's no block button (I would like one), 2 active skills 1 passive is too small to really diversify the roster, (at least one more skill, minimum.) It's really annoying to need to shoot to glide, it's really annoying that your speed isn't kept between your dashing, sliding, grappling hook, or anything really except gliding. You can't go fast in the game. (The sole exception has been spamming dashes, glides, and slams, or using the grenade launcher glide trick.) And climbing is just buggy and retarded. Grind is starting to become suspect. It has to be grindy for the sake of the payment model but it does seem to be a case of "grind 1 hr to get enough tokens to grind for 1 hr for a chance to get a thing you wanted, then grind for another hour for mats to use the thing you wanted." Character unlock grind can be short but I think its a tactic to draw you into the greater grind, which is really for weapons and upgrades for said characters. This could be fine for a gameplay loop but the lack of variety hurts. There's also no point in exploring the maps of the dungeons you go through.
>3 minute timer to defeat boss >boss spends half the fight either flying away from you or being invincible >>1889595 Story, writing, and voice acting is actually pretty good. The gameplay might be one of the most mindless hack and slash/shoot I've ever seen. I went through the immersive theater, it's can be summed up as "go through 4 stages running towards big clusters of enemies that spawn and use your best aoe attack, then DPS check against the boss". You only have a skill and an ult (and a gun) but you're limited to controlling 1 character unlike genshin and wuwa. The silver lining is that having AI controlled companions lets you AFK grind on some parts of the game. Enemy density is huge and even your basic attacks have a large aoe. Enemy damage is extremely low in this game for some reason. I went into the main story boss fight against the hell demon extremely underleveled and was only doing chip damage to her, but she was also unable to break through my shield. It's very difficult to actually die in this game. Also, game is excessively grindy, I guess that's what we get for giving up on the gacha. Despite a lot of people complaining, I'm fine with the movement. You can also use the pig girl's ult to traverse extremely fast, one of the characters can just fly, and the plunging attack also lets you descend horizontally at high speeds. This game isn't an actual an open world though so you won't get that much mileage out of traversal.
>>1886500 Hate it when i want to play Yume Nikki but end up downloading a Nikki Six album. Happens all the fucking time.
I don't like Gacha game character designs. They all feel incredibly samey.
>>1892999 (checked) You can unironically blame Genshin's popularity for that. The samey style you see everywhere is the new "standard" everyone follows, since it's pretty enough for your average mushy brained gacha player with minimal effort. Only a few take risks with their designs like Arknights and Limbus, and that's mainly because they're still 2D games so they're allowed to be a bit more wild.
