Responding to anon as I missed the post earlier. Mild spoilers for Tea Party Summer, so look away.
This feels like a really weird read to me, the first two/three paragraphs are mostly it just not being the event you expected. The event isn't "trying to give Nagisa a day off". The event is about "Mika trying to give Nagisa a day off". It's a Mika event.
I guess it's just venting and rambling so it's fine, but it does come off as criticism at times which doesn't make much sense when 90% of your issues with it are it's just not what you wanted from it. Things like complaining about of lack of CGs, how many CGs did the second Trinity summer have? How many did summer Arius have? How many "unique assets"? Especially when you yourself recognize how amazing the minigame is the character interactions. I frankly think that outside of anniversary events it's the event with the highest production yet. I will add however, that some of the complains feel like you aren't taking into account the group story, which is fine as you're obviously talking about the event, but it does make some "asks" seem silly. Like, currently I wouldn't complain about Saori not being more explored in V3C3, when V3C4 has released since.
I agree with your Nagisa opinion, but I disagree strongly with your opinion here on both Seia and Mika. Especially when you frame it as something stemming from "current writing" and not being there from the start.
>Nagisa
I do not like the swimsuit nor the sprite nor do I think it fits her at all. And I'll be blunt, as she currently is, almost 5 years into the game, I find her very poorly written due to the complete lack of consistency throughout the overarching game, and like you said, we got minimal insight into it regardless this time around as well regardless.
>Seia
Seia has two proper interactions with Mika in Volume 3, both of sarcastic nature, the first one chastising her about her approach to the Arius situation, the second one at the end in a more teasing way, the latter one is an attitude that she now employs, it isn't new, and it's also commented on her momos, the interactions she with others are her attempt at a sort of friendly banter. Her being whimsical was already reflected verbally, it's just now also reflected in her actions, which isn't that big of a surprise given she has always been one to act and do whatever she wants without caring for opinions, especially now that she lost her powers and is able to enjoy life "without spoilers".
>Mika
I do think the Swimsuit fits current post Vol 3 Mika much better, but I can see why someone would see it as lacking in a broad sense.
Mika was always sweet, extremely so, this is even visible back in her motivations about Arius.
Mika going """schizo""" mostly only happens on serious circumstances, this really wasn't the place for it to happen, and she also does her best not to act out either here given she doesn't want to ruin anything.
You don't even need to comment on her not being a yandere, anyone who thinks she is, needs to read the actual story, Seia acted more "yanderish" than she ever did, and that's already exaggerating a lot. That being said I understand her being "nasty" is also part of the appeal but I genuinely can't see it being brought out outside of serious circumstances, and even then, as she matures it's going to be hard to pull it off without it coming off as her "regressing" A LOT in terms of development, so in those circumstances I don't really want it back if it can't be absolutely perfectly handled. Guess we'll have to wait and see, but I'm completely fine if it never does return. I will say that I actually expected you to talk more about her mischievousness which she also has toned down as she matures instead of the "nasty" behavior.
