What is the official /v/ consensus on this game? I'm shit at it but I love the presentation of it. I wish I was better so I could enjoy it more thoroughly and finish it.
The only thing I know about this is it originally looked even more like Half-Life 1 until Valve legal got in contact and said "cut that shit out" To be fair, the early character models looked almost exactly like the scientists
It was fun. Totally dropped the ball in the residential sector. XP scale is retarded and not really achievable. Anteverses peak at Flathill and never recover, which is bad because Flathill is the second anteverse. They rehash Far Garden like five times. The last zones become a slog, reactors in particular. There are four fission reactors that need to be powered. One is a huge set piece battle between ordo forces and gatekeeper forces. One is a ten minute walk. One is a fifteen minute walk. One is a wave defense. So two reactors are barely really there. Shadowgate is too short. Praetorium is very samey and repetitious. Fragments was cool at first and rapidly becomes tedious. The garden sector was just a pain. The residential sector is just 5 stories tall of copy pasted dorms, 2 levels of which are inaccessible due to a blizzard. You can do the whole zone in 10 minutes.
>>1717418 >What is the official /v/ consensus on this game? Gain about 300 ng/dL and learn what independent thought is. It's a really interesting game, for sure. I genuinely enjoyed it, even alone. I'm waiting until it's feature/story complete until I play again.
>>1717418 It seemed pretty clear they wanted to make a survival game out of HL's setting. Which to be fair, is a mildly novel idea for those who enjoyed HL. I'll probably try it out some time next week to see how it goes.
>>1717418 >I am too weak and pathetic to form an opinion on something on my own >I have to obey the herd Kill yourself.
>>1933549 >>I am too weak and pathetic to form an opinion on something on my own He did play the game and form his own opinion though, what are you seething about?
>>1934074 >asks for groupthink >formed his own opinion Try again with basic literacy.
>>1717418 >>1934086 >I'm shit at it but I love the presentation of it That's called an opinion you drooling troglodyte.
I'm currently playing through it solo after getting bait'n'switched last weekend by the devs, and its kinda fun although too grindy in certain aspects, which clashes with the limited nature of its enviroments. For example, when it comes to combat-centric skills you will find yourself being able to level up the "blunt" and "sharp" weapon stats quite easily since you just gotta destroy furniture and cut up bodies for them to go up, on top of using such weapon types for day-to-day combat or hunting. On the other hand, raising the "aiming" skill, which governs how much you suck at ranged weapons, is a total pain in the ass since it only goes up by shooting at actual living targets which are limited and completely dependant on respawn timers. Another example is Crafting, which takes forever to raise, contrasting with agriculture, which mostly levels up by itself as soon as you start using it. Overall I'd say the balance is all over the place right now (specially noticeable just after reaching the Manufacturing Sector for the first time) but I guess its fine since its early access. Pretty sure this is something the devs will go back to in the future. Worth a pirate if you want to try it.
its tough but fair chilling slow burn friendslop like SCP or backrooms multiplayer
