Nintendo Direct: September 12, 2025 Anonymous 09/10/2025 (Wed) 16:21:53 Id: 0e51a9 No. 1739682
Nintendo will host a Nintendo Direct broadcast on September 12 at 6:00 a.m PT / 9:00 a.m. ET, featuring approximately 60 minutes of updates on upcoming Switch 2 and Switch games. Considering its length I assume it'll be a big showing with a ton of games, hopefully some good third party ones as well. I kinda wanna sell my Switch 2 since I use my Steam Deck more these days, but I'm hoping this Direct will give me a few reasons to keep it LIVE NOW USA Stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWIEv_aksvo JPN Stream: https://youtu.be/B4ZOlKAGdx4
Edited last time by Mark on 09/12/2025 (Fri) 12:55:28.
Expect >ports of games we already know about >tranny remakes >one new good game that turns out to be multiplat >more ports
I wouldn't expect too much. They'll probably have a chunk of it dedicated to that upcoming pokemon game and that'll eat up a good 10mins or so.
https://youtu.be/B4ZOlKAGdx4 Link of the Japanese stream since a bunch of stuff tend to be showcased exclusively there Best outcome for me would be the Switch 2 ports of EDF 5 & 6 being announced (making the whole franchise available on the ecosystem), but I'm not too demanding either as long as whatever is shown remain interesting and fun.
>>1739923 Thank you
Since this one isn't called a Partner Showcase like the Direct that happened at the end of July this year, maybe there will be more original Nintendo IPs and fewer ports. There will inevitably be some, but last time it was 99% ports. At the very least, there won't be anyone in the comments spamming about Silksong. >>1739909 >They'll probably have a chunk of it dedicated to that upcoming pokemon game Unless they plan to have one last Pokemon dedicated direct before Z-A launches, but since that's a little over a month away, maybe they will just share the information in this upcoming Direct for time and convenience sake.
>>1739682 I assume that most people are probably sleeping, but this appears to be a major direct so I just stickied it and wanted to send a reminder
>>1745281 Tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros, so it probably will be a major direct
>>1745293 Yeah, most likely.

Apparently they will show off a trailer for the next Mario movie. Based on Super Mario Galaxy.
>>1745332 Makes sense, isn't it coming out next year or something?
>>1745337 Yeah, April

>>1745363 Meh, they didn't do Peach that dirty.

The leaks were true....
>Galaxy Guess the leaks were true. I wanted world.
Yeah this trademark got filed recently so everyone knew it was coming.
>>1745415 It's a bit surprising since the post-credits trailer were teasing Yoshi.

I like Rosalina at least.
dunno why they bother listing the american VAs for the Japanese stream, since the first movie had its own JP dub anyway

>>1745693 >Alright very funny, now where's the next Xeno game? I would have settled for fucking Switch 2 upgrades to make games like Xeno 2 actually run decent.
>>1745707 Yeah, that surprised me as well. Especially since there was an enhanced cut scene of Xenoblade 2 posted on twitter.
>>1745703 >Yeah I didn't like how nig coded a lot of it was. I’ll have to watch the trailer again later, but it did seem like there were a lot of dreads, braids, and dark skin. If the game is supposed to take place in a hot climate, I get it, but it seems like the designers fell for the whole “characters in a hot/egyptian location must be brown or even darker” thing. >So this takes place in Three Houses world? If Sothis is there then it must. There were whole lands on the map of Fodlan that were only named or mentioned and never visited. Could it take place to that continent to the east? Or the one to the south?
>>1745607 You've activated my fight or flight saying that, Jak 3's open world was the worst part about it. Don't get me worried about Prime 4.

So that's it? Nothing new for mario other than a shit port and two side games? What a waste of fucking time. >>1745737 Apparently the Elden Ring port is running very poorly on the system.
>>1745618 The porn of this character is the only thing I'm looking forward
>>1745748 The demo builds between Gamescom and PAX were different, and while the latter did show improvements over the former, neither of them were the "disaster" port that the western media press were painting it to be. I could still understand to delay a bit in order to iron things out though
>>1745756 Ah, my bad then.

>MEGA MAN STAR FORCE COLLECTION YESSSSSSSSSSS~! WHY WASN'T IT IN THE GLOBAL DIRECT FREAKING ADVERTISE IT!!!
Legends is the last Megaman game that needs a collection, right? Wonder where they go after that.
>>1745761 Official website confirms that there's no crossplay, meaning Capcom phoned it in. Just play the Star Force DX mod instead. It genuinely improves and expands upon the original game in every way while still feeling like an official thing.
>>1745757 No problem but it's more a proof how it's better to check actual gameplay vids https://youtu.be/DE5HpSoUj-c https://youtu.be/AXuFiiG6xU0 A "disaster" port would be like Deadly Premonition 2 in terms of performance, not something that already looks like 1:1 to the PS4 version.
So the whole Mega Raichu thing is a part of paid DLC? They announced paid DLC for a game that hasn’t even come out yet? Im not surprised but I’m getting really tired of this nonsense.
>>1745799 It's the kind of thing that would have caused uproar had it happened in 2012. Boiling frogs and all that.
>>1745799 Nintendo has learned how to jew like everyone else. Hell, they might have even exceeded the others now.
>>1745810 >learned This is...new?

>>1745721 Its open world looked exactly like Jak III's -- a big empty desert. Maybe it's not, but the footage they showed wasn't promising.
>>1745806 It sure would have, and Im sure there were some devs who wanted to try it but relented because of that potential uproar. Today, sadly, a lot of players, mostly the younger generation, have come to almost expect paid DLC even if it’s revealed before release. They just see it as the usual.
>>1745810 >Hell, they might have even exceeded the others now. how to spot someone who barely play videogames, especially the Japanese ones
>>1745799 >They announced paid DLC for a game that hasn’t even come out yet? I thought that's the norm now, don't a lot of games announce Season Passes etc before a game is out? I know every modern Bamco game does this.
https://www.pokemon.co.jp/ex/legends_z-a/ja/news/250912_01/ >The 3 mega stones cannot be obtained through normal gameplay >Mega Stones, which are rank-up rewards, are scheduled to be redistributed in future seasons >making Megas fucking seasonal rewards Might as well throw a fucking battle pass in there while you're at.

>>1745864 Whoever told you Legends Arceus is a standalone game is full of shit. Its just as much of a mainline game as any other dual mainline release.
>>1745882 I worded that poorly. I mean that it was a complete game, no expansions or dlc, as far as I know at least.
>>1745850 Just wait about a month. Someone's gonna make a FireRed ZA romhack that includes them.
>>1745888 Ah in that regard yeah, Legends Arceus was pretty much a complete game. I'd say its unironically the one actually decent Pokemon game on the Switch but it isn't without its issues and nitpicks. >3 years later and this is still unresolved
>>1745888 There were some content updates but no DLC, yeah.
>>1745840 True, but this doesn’t really seem like a battle pass. It’s both cosmetic items and additional story. It’s like if they advertised Kitakakami and Blueberry Academy before Scarlet and Violet even released and allowed people to preprder it with little description of what they actually were. >>1745850 Just read about that. Seems like a scheme to artificially inflate playtime. Players will come back to the game over the course of months as they release the mega stones, making the company look good.

>>1746272 Surely they're just hiding those from us.
(130.89 KB 1920x1080 prime retrospective.jpg)

>>1746306 There are better enemy designs in the trailer, but I can't think of a single enemy in the original trilogy that's a slightly edited earth animal. The wolves, together with the desert, hint at less creativity. Also, the art book wasn't in the european direct. At least not in my country. >>1745567 I wonder if the virtual boy is compatible with 3D TVs. It seems like a missed opportunity that they didn't put virtual boy on 3DS. I got a virtual boy emulator on a hacked 3DS. The pixel perfect resolution fills almost the entire screen, and the 3D looks great on a 3DS.
The only good thing about today's Direct was the Virtual Boy thing (now I can finally play Teleroboxer, Wario Land, and Jack Bros) and Metroid Prime 4 news, but like other anons have expressed, I desperstely hope they did not sacrifice the dungeons for low quality empty wastelands. I remain cautiously optimistic. All the rest of the direct was pitiful. The DLC especially. Nintendo is so jewish these days, it's unbelievable. Iwata is spinning in his grave as we speak.

You weren't kidding about need: https://www.nintendo.com/en-gb/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/Virtual-Boy-Nintendo-Classics-2915432.html#:~:text=Virtual%20Boy%20%E2%80%93%20Nintendo%20Classics%20is%20software%20that%20displays%203D%20images.%20It%20is%20not%20possible%20to%20play%20with%202D%20images >Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics is software that displays 3D images. It is not possible to play with 2D images. There is also the cardboard for 20. For comparison, I looked up google cardboard and I can get those for under 10. For around 20, I can get an actual plastic shell with a head strap for a smartphone. >>1746342 >The only good thing about today's Direct was the Virtual Boy thing (now I can finally play Teleroboxer, Wario Land, and Jack Bros) Looks like the launch lineup is only Mario’s Tennis, Galactic Pinball and Teleroboxer. Seriously, if you have an old 3DS hack it and get the emulator red viper. I wonder if the shell and cardboard are compatible with games that had a VR mode for the labo cardboard.
>>1745619 Super was shit and Mystery Dungeon apparently never sold all that much. Also, I think Chunsoft is busy with VNs or something.
>>1746272 That's some generic fucking shit, goddamn.
>>1745814 >>1745837 Nintendo hardly had any DLC in their games until the Switch era, and paid online didn't become a thing until the Switch as well. Nintendo's game prices were also not as high as the competition's until late in the Switch era, and their firmware was not nearly as secure as the competition's. Their hardware was often fairly priced (or eventually became so through either drops or revisions) compared to the competition. Their games also at least tried to be original/different enough from the competition. Now they're making people pay a huge premium on hardware, pioneering higher game prices for the entire industry, doing more day 1 DLC than their competition, remotely bricking Switch 2's and changing EULAs that allow them to do so, making people pay exorbitant prices for hardware tech demos like that one game that shows you how to literally use your Switch 2, and so on. Their games now are literally all copying the biggest trends. (Mario Kart open world, Legend of Zelda: skyrim edition, pokemon: minecraft edition, metroid kart prime with an open world, donkey kong odyssey, and so on) Pretending that there's been no changes at all is disingenuous, they were usually 1-2 steps behind their competition in this regard.
>>1746633 >until the Switch era Anon...the Switch era has been going on for eight years.
>>1746633 >Nintendo hardly had any DLC in their games until the Switch era What the fuck timeline were you living on where this was the case? Because here on our timeline the late 3DS and especially WiiU lifetime they were dipping their toes more and more into DLC practices.
>>1746651 Late? Try DS/DSi. There were DLC for some games even back then.
>>1746633 None of the pricing honestly matters to me since I have a job, and I don't really care about this artificial outrage. I just play videogames, that's all. When I said you barely played videogames, it was obvious you haven't experienced what business practises Bandai Namco, Koei Tecmo or Atlus usually do for starters. I still remember Kodokawa and the massive amount of DLCs for Reco Love too back during the Vita days. And you would foam at the mouth if you were to pay a visual novel at full price or most JP games in their home country, even if the yen has weakened severely against other currencies nowadays. I suppose good job in parroting exactly the same talking points, word for word, that your online masters on Youtube and Twitter told you to repeat ?
>>1746667 Damn really? I had no idea.
>>1746675 The only one I know off the top of my head was Solatorobo. One is enough, though.
>>1746724 >Solatorobo Does anybody have the old gif from our drawthreads?
>>1746651 Anon, the late 3DS and Wii U eras was basically what coincided with the Switch's launch. They never charged more than $40 base for a 3DS game to my knowledge, excluding LEs of course. In the Switch era they charged $60 for games that would be $40 on their handhelds. The only notable DLC from them I can think of in the 3DS/Wii U era was SSB4, some minor cosmetic shit for Fire Emblem, and a few Mario games nobody gave a shit about. They introduced pokemon and Zelda DLC with the Switch games for example. >>1746650 Yeah, but I used the term out of convenience, there's still a big difference between 2017 and 2024 for example. Nintendo's first 70$ base game was Tears of the Kingdom. >>1746671 So you're defending jewtendo's practices because of these companies? I was comparing them with platforms, not every third party developer in existence. Platforms doing this shit is a way bigger deal than a third party in the vast majority of cases.
>>1746798 No, I simply said that you're someone with little experience in videogames since your original statement was "Hell, they might have even exceeded the others now.". And it's kinda obvious you're mentally unhinged about Nintendo, especially considering your previous post. Maybe spend more time playing videogames in order to form your own personal opinions next time.
>>1746819 >mentally unhinged about Nintendo Find me another developer charging $80 base for their games. I'll wait.
>>1746890 Dynasty Warriors Origins for starters, the base price is 80€ on Steam. Switch 2 games cost around 60€ ~ 70€ where I live btw. But I'm also someone who had no issues to pay extra in getting a Japanese version of SMT5 (priced nearly 10k yen which was the rough equivalent of 75€~80€ in 2021) just for the moonrunes. I wouldn't even mind paying 80€ for a Switch 2 port of EDF5 & 6, or the next mainline title because it's a franchise I do love for example. I can understand being on a fence about a game you don't fully trust to be fun or to be too short, and therefore wait for a sale, but I can't exactly anyone seriously who is acting like whatever price range of a videogame could destabilize his own livelihood.
>>1746929 >Dynasty Warriors Origins >80€ That's your problem, it's $70 here in America (which is still jewish mind you). Hell, if anything you should be angrier since you're somehow paying even worse prices than we are on top of having a more expensive currency. >destabilize his livelihood It's not about that, it's about greed and being taken advantage of as consumers and not being given the value that >we used to have. If people really want these games, they'll blow their welfare checks on it. But there is just no reason to do this as a company outside of wanting to milk people for all they're worth. A few dollars isn't the issue, it's the principle behind it. (but on that note, eventually a few dollars here and there does indeed add up too; we're already at double what handheld game prices used to be and showing no signs of stopping).
(2.20 MB 2546x1277 Pal World - Pokopia.jpg)

>>1745618 So is Pal World gonna sue Nintendo now?
>>1746667 >>1746724 >>1746738 I know that some games on the Wii had DLC, but none of them were Nintendo games. >>1746798 >The only notable DLC from them I can think of in the 3DS/Wii U era was SSB4, some minor cosmetic shit for Fire Emblem, and a few Mario games nobody gave a shit about. You don't remember things like Streetpass Plaza (A pre-installed game on the 3DS) receiving a forced update that locked away some of the original features behind a paywall and adding DLC games that you had to buy? Or Wii Sports Club, where you had to buy every single sport from the original Wii pack-in game? >They introduced pokemon and Zelda DLC with the Switch games What about that DSiware AR Pokemon game that was essential for B&W2 if you wanted the legendaries, and was a seperate purchase? And Pokemon Bank? And the DLC for Hyrule Warriors? Hell, let's also throw in the toys like Amiibos and the previous attempt at NFC toys for Pokemon Scramble U.
>>1747061 >you don't remember this obscure shit? Outside of pokemon bank, which was more of a service to begin with anyways, no I don't. Hyrule Warriors I'll give you though, that was one I forgot about. >toys like amiibos Amiibos are a separate product entirely imo, but I can at least see an argument for it so fair enough.
(623.05 KB 640x360 you're retarded.webm)

>>1747090 >obscure shit <Wii Sports <Essential 3DS features and selling points of the system <Pokemon <Zelda
>>1747105 Nice try fag. Wii Sports Club isn't the same thing as Wii Sports. Streetpass as a feature isnt the same thing as Streetpass Plaza. A separate online storage and transfer service isn't the same thing as pokemon DLC. And DLC for a Zelda spinoff developed by Koei Tecmo is different from the mainline games having DLC.
>>1747126 >Wii Sports Club isn't the same thing as Wii Sports. The first of two enhanced remake of one of the most popular games to ever exist is suddenly an obscure game and shouldn't count as part of an argument about the company's practices? >Streetpass as a feature isnt the same thing as Streetpass Plaza. A pre-installed game available on every device showcasing one of the essentially features of a system is suddenly an obscure game and shouldn't count as part of an argument about the company's practices? >isn't the same thing as pokemon DLC A seperate game that you have to buy specifically for accessing content in a game, and only existing for the expressed purposes of accessing said content in said game, "is not the same thing" as DLC when it's just DLC with more steps and shouldn't count as part of an argument about the company's practices? >the mainline games having DLC Game features that are entirely inaccessible and locked behind the purchase of an entirely seperate toy, like in TPHD, "is not the same thing" as DLC when it's just DLC but with more steps and shouldn't count as part of an argument about the company's practices?
>>1747176 >enhanced remake of a game included with every Wii already, released at the end of its lifespan that nobody ever heard of isn't obscure >the pokemon bank of all things is now an entire "separate game" >failing to realize that amiibos are primarily toys with anything they add to a game being incidental and miniscule at best >bringing up preinstalled shit that nobody cared about and calling it "essential" despite Streetpass working fine without ever touching it (and streetpass was never "essential" to using a 3ds to begin with, unless you're using the word "essential" the same way lotion companies do) I can see why nobody bothers to argue with you anymore.
Need a picture of this but with Samus in a bikini.
>>1747059 Wait, that's a human, I thought that was a Ditto.
Really not happy about Nintendo announcing DLC. The apologists all swore that increased game prices would ensure that all future DLC would be free, since it "covers the costs". Them announcing DLC for a game that isn't even out yet? That's pretty bad, but BOTW already set the precedent I suppose.
>>1747701 >The apologists all swore that increased game prices would ensure that all future DLC would be free Only people huffing galaxy gas believed that, anon. No one here did and no one reasonable I ever saw did.
>>1747701 They'll eat whatever shit Nintendo puts on their plate, they can do whatever they want as long as said consumer whores continue to exist.
Americans are getting ripped off with the virtual boy, its 100 dollar vs 80 euro! And the cardboard is even 5 bucks more expensive. Fun fact, because the original virtual boy flopped so hard, it didn't release in Europe.
>>1748554 tariffs mate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also the euro has picked up a lot of value recently and is now back to around 1.2~ to the dollar
>>1748573 Then why is the gamecube controller 70 in both euro and dollar?
>>1748662 Possibly because it launched earlier?
>>1748554 Anyone who buys that thing is being ripped off, regardless of price.
>>1748662 Why the fuck are controllers so expensive now?
>>1750042 They don't really break, they just drift, and most have focused multiplayer around online, so people are far less likely to have multiple controllers, so they raise the price because fuck you.
I can't wait to pirate EVERYTHING.
>>1750728 Just two more weeks. Surly someone will crack the Switch 2 which did not have the software vulnerability the first had that allowed that.
>>1750042 Now? Since at least 7th Gen consoles, controllers cost as much as a new game. Maybe it was that way even before that, but I don't remember because I wasn't constantly replacing controllers for my N64 and Gamecube like I did with the 360.
