Today I want to talk about Nodoka and her hair. Nodoka has calf-length, wavy hair that is a light strawberry blonde, almost peach-like color. It's braided in multiple locations, the first being just above her ears with a relatively normal braid for this region of the hair, and a much looser one near the end of her hair, tying it all together. Said lower braid invokes memories of bread, with the color and aforementioned looseness of the braid. It's tied together with what seems to be an improvised hairband, going by the bunny tail on the side. That, or said bunny tail is being used to provide a counterweight, implying that Nodoka's hair is either deceptively light for how much there is, or it's heavy enough to be annoying or uncomfortable should a strong enough breeze blow into it. It's a very hearty hairstyle, helped further with the hat she wears.
Nodoka's hot spring hair is very surprising... Did Nodoka really manage to put all her hair into that bun? Maybe not, but the way she's tied said bun leads to there being a bit extra storage, allowing her to hide it all in there. Imagine her untying her hairbun and flicking her head because of how much hair there is, with it slowly falling down like a snowflake. A sight that cleanses the mind while the hot spring cleanses the body.
Nodoka's outfit is very cozy. Those thick boots, the fur on the inside of her coat, and the hat. It might not be warm in her living environment, but at least she dresses warm. By the way, why does Nodoka lug around a teddy bear? The emblem on her coat suggests that it's the Spec Ops 227 mascot, but is it official? If it is, then one of the Red Winter officers gave a teddy bear to the suspended students, which is a surprisingly nice thing to do given the relations the two clubs have with one another. If it's unofficial, then that means that Nodoka and Shigure managed to find the material to make the emblem, teddy bear, and even the dangling bear on Nodoka's gun. It's possible, but how'd they get all that stuffing? Perhaps it's a mystery that can't be solved yet. Before addressing the telescope, I'd like to point out that Nodoka's gun has snowflakes on it, and a white magazine/flashlight. It's a simple, yet clever design. But the telescope. It's an impressive thing, being sturdy enough to endure being hit by Marina's head at incapacitating speeds while also being sophisticated enough to spot individual objects in the night sky, even potentially able to make out the details of shooting stars. Realistically, the former only happens on accident, and probably has a lot of time to repair any damage or miscalibration from such a hit.
Nodoka's hot spring outfit is a hot spring outfit. There's not much to it, other than the red sash having a snowflake print on it, as does her handbag.
Nodoka is a very unfortunate case when it comes to hair care. It should be obvious that her hair won't smell like a field of flowers, first off. But there's also the matter of how often Nodoka is able to take a bath or wash her hair. It wouldn't be surprising if a wash day had the nearby stream not frozen, so she either uses a bucket to collect water or worse, just dunks her hair into the stream and quickly dries it off. If she collected the bucket, then she takes it back to the institute's washroom, where the water is heated up to not be a hazard, then she takes a cup and pours it into her hair, rinsing it as best she can while also making sure not to waste the water.
The hot spring nearby is slightly more appealing, sure, but it likely requires maintenance and supplies to where it's unsustainable to keep it active every day. That, and it's likely that her hair would have a slight sulfuric note to it, hopefully mitigated by finding anything that can go into the water as an aromatic.
While I prefer to stay out of a school's way in how it handles discipline, washing Nodoka's hair would probably do her some good, if only to keep her from watching me do my work into the night for a time.
