Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Anonymous 10/18/2025 (Sat) 11:55:40 Id: ae90a6 No. 1858349
Have you played the demo for the new Heroes of Might and Magic? It is heavily based on HoMM3.
>publisher: hooded horse Did Ubisoft sell off the rights to HoMM?
>>1858490 I think Ubisoft is in such a dire financial situation that they had to seek out a secondary publisher. They still own the ip, but have nothing to do with development of this game outside of partially financing it.
>>1858490 Maybe? They actually sold off the rights to a bunch of their properties recently. https://archive.ph/JML30
>>1858349 It seemed alright. Which for ubishit is a huge step in the right direction. I wasn't too sure on the balance with things like unit upgrades as some just seemed like shit in comparison to the alternative. Mixed on the focus special moves as well. Still, I hope it actually does well. Otherwise I will just keep playing HoMM3 until the end of time.
>>1858349 What the fuck there's a new HoMM game?
>>1860430 There is a demo for one. It only has crummy randomly generated maps and no multiplayer, but it is still pretty good.
>>1860441 Ah shit, maybe I'll give it a go then. Been busy with some other games, so I might be too late to download the demo.
>>1860447 The demo isn't going away anytime soon. The devs also promised that if they decide to remove it at some point, they will give a warning in advance.
>>1860458 Oh, neat. Guess I'll get around to it later then.
I just got an Armageddon's Blade from a shipwreck survivor on the Vikings We Shall Go! map. HoMM3 lottery winnings aside, this Olden Era game has a lot of good stuff going for it. It does have two major issues which will hopefully be fixed before launch: <the UI is atrocious, if the company making this game is paying a UI/UX designer, they should fire his ass because god damn this UI fucking BLOWS <AI isn't too smart, saw it doing a few really stupid things even at 150%, most egregious was one AI not picking up the new upgrade dust/powder that was right next to its capital Looking forward to this game.
I noticed the map gen has a habit of getting a few items stuck in random unreachable areas which is kind of lame. I hope they fix that. >>1864973 >UI Yeah I had some complaints about it as well after finishing another round. >AI isn't too smart Funny you mention that. I saw lots of fags on the forums complaining about them being too hard now.
>>1865817 Higher difficulties have larger neutral stacks guarding the map. The ai sucks at dealing with this, making the higher difficulties easier as the computer suffers massive troop losses against neutrals.
>>1864973 I want it to be more gritty the game looks way too clean and smooth and it bothers me
>>1866432 I got curbstomped super early on for the few times I tried 200%. The AI's start bonus may be large enough for them to power through the first week or two. That being said, I completely dominated the AI on 160%.
