Traditional rouge-likes and original rouge thread Anonymous 11/19/2025 (Wed) 13:28:45 Id: 9d1d53 No. 1947710
I find these games fascinating. Not only how influential original rouge was. But just how they are still updated or made. And how modern rougelikes just kind of aren't much anymore like original rouge so the title rougelike feels a bit odd and unfitting. But that's just me. Is there anyone else here who genuinely likes these games. Also might guve out some links >rouge collection https://github.com/mikeyk730/Rogue-Collection >the dungeons of moria (umoria 5.7) https://umoria.org/download/ >Larn+Ularn for browsers https://larn.org/ >Nlarn https://sourceforge.net/projects/nlarn/files/nlarn/0.7.7/ >nethack 3.5.7. https://www.nethack.org/v367/ports/download-win.html

>>1947710 https://www.gog.com/en/game/roguefp Made by an anon. It's the original rogue in first person.
I hate how the shitty DOS version of Rogue became the general public's image of it. The original Rogue also kind of sucks, I wouldn't recommend it. Even its creator never managed to beat it.
>>1947967 Its probably because thats version thats on steam. >Even its creator never managed to beat it. Thats true about a lot of roguelikes actually.
