Bomberman Anonymous 11/20/2025 (Thu) 02:30:36 Id: 8654f5 No. 1949457
Have you played any of the Bomberman games? Do you have a favorite? Do you think the single player is pointless?
The original Bomberman (MSX) holds up really well, though it's repetitive. The Famicom port is more playable than almost anything else on the system at that point.
>>1949457 I beat all of the SNES ones in a row a while ago. 2 is overall my favorite for the single player mode but 5 has the best multiplayer experience.
I like the NES Bomberman and the TG16 Bomberman. I remember enjoying Bomberman 64 as a kid but it was a lent cartridge so I never finished it. Maybe I should get back to that with an emulator. And Single Player can be fun. The 5 color bombers at the end of Bomberman TG16 is genuinely one of the harshest things I've fought in gaming
Never played it but If I was given the opportunity I would

>>1949457 It has been a damn long time since I played any of them to be honest. Most recent bomberman related thing was when a friend suggested I watch some 8 and a half hour autismfest called "A Bomberman Journey". >singleplayer is pointless Multiplayer was definitely fun, but I remember really enjoying the N64 and Gamecube campaigns.
>>1949520 You have it right now. Grab any emulator, and there's a Bomberman game you can play on it. There's a fuckton of them.
>>1949675 Sir pirating is very bad. Go buy the original cartridge online from some ebay reseller for 350$ and play it in your official game system.
Bomberman 64 has nice music.

>>1949457 Only real niggas remember this
The Zelda-like on the GBA was fun. The Jetters based sequel was nice too.

>>1951335 Which one?
Bomberman was a secret influencer of my tastes growing up. I used to rent the games all the time although they've largely gone forgotten. They were just solid fun games. Here were some of my favorites. I remember there was a fangame called Power Bomberman, anyone play that?
>>1951339 I always chose ninja, he's cool Most of my time in Bomberman World was spent playing battle mode so the announcer voice for these guys has been ingrained in my head
My early vidya days were most prominently Bomberman games; Party Edition, Fantasy Race, World, Super 2 and Super 4... the latter of which became a childhood classic for me, I loved that game to death. And then in my teens Land 2, Custom Battler and Land Wii (Shit's motion control hell tho). I've moved around multiple franchises over the years, but Bomberman has a very special place in my heart. We should definitely hop in some Power Bomberman one of these days; that game is the perfect expansion of the Super 4 experience and I adore it. Power is the definitive Bomberman game after Blitz 2 (if only Power had Blitz's hilarious points matches). >also Pretty Bomber is very cute.
>>1950675 Only because of all the cut swearing.
was it THAT bad? I wanted to dl it now that I hacked my 360 but idk
>>1951572 They made them grimdark edgy robots, and the robots aren't even hot. 0/10

I've played an arcade one on the 360. Not the edgey robot one. I've also played the on the chan game. Bombergirls are cute and seems fun but I don't live in JP Single player mode needs a lot more structure than a PVP mode. An easy out would be to build levels about the use of the Bgirl abilitys but that's cheap and is not in the usual bomberman style. I could see a traditional bomberman style roguelite working with 1 or 2 power ups carrying over between maps, or a hand crafted set of maps with RPG elements that leans on different factions and how they can or can't use power ups
>>1951572 It's a very barebones game. You pick either the game mode where there is Health points, or standard 1 hit kills, and it's just seeing if you can Survive 100 rounds. There is no story to the game beyond it's aesthetic presentation, now personally I think visually the game looks kind of cool, but there is nothing else to chew on. It's just the same typical Bomberman gameplay with an edgy skin. Playing it for free it might be entertaining for a while, but this absolutely wasn't a game worth buying when it launched. This was a game you rented when the 360 launched, and then after returning it never really thought about again. Regardless this is the time I'd have to post 2nd pic related again. >>1951572 >the robots aren't even hot I wouldn't agree with that, I would do the sex with the woman armor
>>1951914 >Bombergirls are cute and seems fun but I don't live in JP game is playable on PC. it's not Arcade only anymore

For me, it's the Blast Network PvP in Spiral Knights.
>>1951347 >I remember there was a fangame called Power Bomberman, anyone play that? 100% it. Legit one of the best fangames I've ever played.
>>1951993 >spiral knights Good memories.

I WANT TO FUCK DOLPHIN BOMBER!!!
I suck at inviting people to play games, so I'll go straight to the point. I got to host a Power Bomberman game before, how about we get a game running somewhat soon-ish? Just let me know and I'll have a room set up somewhere around 8pm GMT-4 timezone. >also If you don't feel like going through the character gatcha (you should, playing for the sake of the gatcha is fun by itself), here's the full roster: >https://files.catbox.moe/pyml70.bin Just make sure to put this in the \AppData\Local\pb folder and rename it to "data.bin" Now you have no excuse to not play Power Bomberman.
I like Bomberman Hero, it was enjoyable and had the song Redial which is really good. Years ago I was able to by a unofficial cartridge off Etsy that looked brand new and ran great. It's amazing how far fakes have come.

I've been playing Bomberman Generation. These bosses fucking suck. There's a lot of waiting for an opening, and if you miss it you have to wait even more for another. This fucking squid has to be the worst out of all of them. Not only can you only damage it by dropping a bomb in front of i,t and hoping it eventually eats it. It keeps spawning these tiny yellow squids that blow up the bombs you set and try to hurt you. And when it gets to half health, it will fire like 30 of them, and it takes forever.

Bomberman World is a game that's very odd for some reason. I thought it would just be Bomberman, but with DKC graphics. But it's isometric too. And the power-up distribution is just odd. And the levels don't change color if you beat them. You can't get a mount a second time. None of this is interesting on its own, but all at once makes the game feel weird. And this is without the IRL lore of the game being built upon a canceled Virtual Boy game.
>>1951220 Played this way back in the day as a child and yes the music slaps. But boy, was this some esoteric game design I just didn't click with. Learning the basics from all the other N64 games like Mario, Zelda, DK, I just didn't know what the hecking double Hockey sticks you were supposed to do most of the time, so I just fucked around killing shit till I stumbled across the exit platform (or whatever it was you had to do to exit the level). Also the rating at the end was a complete mystery to me. I still remember it vividly as the most W T F are you even doing kind of experience in videogames. My only prior knowledge of the series was the multiplayer on SNES.
Does fightcade have a decent community for bomberman? I know some people use it for classic multi-player games that aren't fighting games.
Recently finished both Mega Bomberman and Super Bomberman. Great games. Though Mega Bomberman does suffer from FPS drops when there are too many enemies on screen. Also, here's two songs from SB3.
>>2000089 >Also, here's two songs from SB3. Oops the songs didn't go through.

>>1983570 That reminds me, I used to edit images for free years ago. All sorts of stuff at almost anyones request online because it was fun and great for practice. If in a evil mood I would hide dolphin porn crops in the edits. Their soft curves and smooth surfaces make it surprisingly easy to sneak them in. Anyway that's not a dolphin that's a dang ole Quilava
