Today I want to talk about Serika and her hair. Serika has a surprising amount of outfits, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Serika has wavy black hair that, when left natural, goes down to her calves. She wears her hair in twintails, in a true tsundere fashion, it's pretty cute. She ties said twintails with sky blue ribbons, the same shade as the Abydos necktie (and armband, hidden under her nametag). Her hair has a gradient, becoming lighter near the ends, revealing that Serika's hair is specifically a very dark purple, but can still be reasonably labelled as black.
Serika's Shiba Seki outfit (can't call it her "part time outfit", since that applies to multiple) is the same hairstyle, but there's something that's pretty cool with this and how it ties to her normal outfit. See, her hair is draped over her bag, causing the normal sprite to look asymmetrical. It's only her Shiba Seki, sportswear and to a lesser extent her swimwear that shows her twintails like this. And that's not all! I can't show it due to the image limit, but that same left twintail of Serika's ends differently depending on the outfit! The Shiba Seki outfit, for example, has two main pieces of hair turning to the left, away from Serika, while her sports outfit shows a third strand accompanied by the pair, further away. It's likely that one was meant to emulate the other, but they didn't get it quite right, leading to this. However, I see it as more dynamic hair, which is a pretty good touch, even if it was accidental, started entirely from Serika's hair being draped over her bag.
The third last twintailed outfit is her swimwear, which is Serika's normal hairstyle. Now with water! The hair having more condensed strands while also being more separated is good imagery, looking at it long enough brings memories of going to the beach and having fun in the sun...
Serika's New Year outfit, which I will refer to as the miko outfit, has her hair tied in a thick ponytail, tied with the same fabric as her sleeves, with smaller cherry blossoms fitting for its size. In the middle, it's tied with a red rope. I'm pretty sure there's some significance to that, but I'll admit to not knowing Shinto customs that well. Behind her, on the right, is an elaborate hair accessory. A branch of cherry blossoms that goes up her hair, with three already bloomed, the others still budding... Or, perhaps, petals drifting to the wind. I suppose it depends on if it's welcoming the new year, or bidding the previous year farewell. Every year, of course, being memorable in their own ways.
Serika apparently has two sprites for her miko outfit, the older one showing her hair to have that gradient of purple, as well as being angled to better see her ponytail. Her current sprite has her straight ahead, her ponytail carried by a slight breeze to the left, and the cherry blossom accessory hinted at. Even her sprite has two views for either embracing the new year, or bidding the old year farewell.
Serika's idol outfit has her hair once again tied in a ponytail, but this time it's a stylish ponytail. It's tied with a black ribbon, said black ribbon being tied in a somewhat complex manner due to there being four total "ends" to it, and the ponytail itself is even more complex. It's like drill hair, yet significantly more chaotic, likely done by having the hair run through with a curling iron in different ways. It's impressive, and it must be a sight to see when she's dancing with Ayane!
If the Yonkomas are to be believed, then Serika's ears are incredibly soft. Because of that, I imagine Serika's hair is surprisingly soft as well, the type where a brush would flow through it like a river stream. Perhaps one of those products that Serika purchased hoping it'd bring wealth did work, but mainly for having such smooth hair! As for how it smells, it's almost certainly what you'd expect. A brand you'd find in the supermarket, probably a typical sweet smell that's not really descriptive. And yet, it'd have a honey-like scent to it.
