The Gourmets are certainly a unique bunch. They're a Gehenna club, and they're committed in their goal. I feel like I've read now and again that they feel stale, and I think that would just be a fundamental issue they run into. It's a simple goal they pursue, which is both commendable but also tricky to write in different directions, especially with how the leadership seems to mainly be Haruna calling the shots (even if it does seem to be somewhat democratic). But then that runs into the same issue as I stated: They're relatively simple in their goals, and this extends to their culinary tastes: Akari wants a lot of food, Junko simply wants to eat a meal to completion, Izumi could eat anything and enjoy it, and Haruna wants something new and exciting. I might be stepping on toes with saying all that, but I do think that having a different Gourmet step up as their leader for some event in a similar way that Juri stepped up to be a "leader" in her event would do the entire crew well. Maybe Izumi drags the other three along for a legendary dish she's heard of, only to turn out that it's real. Perhaps Akari's heard of someone in another school who will feed her customers to bursting, and likes the challenge. Maybe Junko wants to find some food that even she can eat without being disturbed. Something like that.
This is also a wrap for Gehenna as a whole... And I feel like what I stated above applies to a lot of the students. Gehenna has a decent enough cast that they can star in their own events. Maybe this is a lot harder than I'm putting it out to be, and maybe having the leaders be the leaders would be for the best. But I can't help but imagine what an event with, say, Mutsuki as its protagonist would be like. Or Megu, or even Iori. Or, perhaps this isn't the right way to think about it, and instead have multiple "main players" for the length of an event. But I digress.
