Spiritually yeah. Physically, they're still doing much better.

They still have a lot of die-hards and the image doesn't mean anything to those. The corpo ecosystem recycles the viewership through raids so all the casualties did was strengthen the weaker talents.

A large amount of the girls want to but after 4 years there is
negligible progress towards it. It can keep moving slower than merch shipments or a risk can be made to climb into the power vacuum that is growing. As Holo continues to stretch the ecosystem wider we have the chance to get an idol unit going for paid gigs then use those profits to bootstrap the others until we can actually do more. Sakana will probably do the correct thing and continue to not overextend but damn if the bait isn't juicy. It's right there wigglin

It doesn't because we're propped up by coffee sales that have no sane reason backing its success it's like beanie babies or labubus that no one should be buying. If anything the
(((medium))) corpo is trapped at the lowest of the low small corpo ceiling avoiding as many expenses as possible and not doing anything to break out into a larger audience. To an extent everyone is reliant on Holo to keep bringing in new viewers to cannibalize but small corpos can't survive the oshihenning if they do nothing and they can't pull in more on their own without killing themselves from the cost.
